Update: Black Widow Training Gear now offers the pair 17" crossmembers pre-drilled to accept the weight stack slinger, for an additional charge. Select the "Slinger Attachment" option before adding to your cart: www.blackwidowtg.com/17_crossmember_with_holes_p/cross3317.htm

Looking to put a weight stack in a 17" crossmember as well. Question, I know the larger hole for the top crossmember is to feed the cable through, but I also saw that you did it on the bottom, what function does that serve? Thanks

James, Looks as if you could have assembled the pulleys to the crossmember on the bench then attached/slid the whole deal into place prior to loading the weights. Only say this to possibly save somebody else some time later. But then again I'm looking at it on a monitor in NorCal so what do I know. Hope that things went well for you in SoCal this weekend.

    • @Clough42

The cable would need to be through the crossmember and that would complicate assembling the stack top anchor plate, but it would be possible.

Hey there, great planning, work and help :-) Why did you not build the whole thing by yourself? I was looking into exactly this type of exercise equipment to mount here on my wall (no rack or existing equipment) and found the commercially available solutions so very expensive, that I already calculated the raw material to build it from scratch. Did you consider and calculate that or were you just thinking it might be too time-consuming? Just wondering! Thanks for the informative and fun-to-watch videos on your channel!!
