Max, if you weren't a physician by profession you could be an A-1 TH-camr. I have no plans to go to medical school, but I like your videos and watched this one to conclusion as well. Keep those videos coming!
As a medical student, that is pretty much the advice I give pre-meds. Pursue your passions. Do not strive to make yourself look just like every other applicant. That makes you not stand out.
Thank you for helping all of us via TH-cam and in person as a patient. It is doctors like you who make our world a better place by the way I love your dog (very cute) you would love my four-legged daughter 🐶 stay safe doctor and thank you once again.
I agree having other interests will help you so much, knowing people....as they can get you past the initial "cutoff" list, as they play golf with the CEO, and talked about you. Many times, when you can say "John Smith" referred me, or your interest matches the person who reviews your resume, it helps. Anything to make you standout in a good way helps. This applies in life overall
Good points. My wife used to interview young applicants to work at a community clinic. She asked the question," What have you done in your life?" The response was invariably a list of schooling. To which she would reply, " so.. the sum total of your life experience is being a student...?"
Great video man! I could handle the stress of medical school , I have always wanted to be an anesthesiologist ever since I was a kid, it’s were my heart is! I really enjoy donating to the anesthesiologist Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college because of my cerebral palsy! I really look up to all anesthesiologist and CRNA! It takes a special person and skill to be a anesthesiologist or CRNA
I really like your videos. The information you present is relevant for both students and patients. I also like your presentation of topics which I find increases my confidence in new physicians. Thank you.
I think the second monitor idea is a great one. I typically use my phone as the 3rd monitor 😢. I split my screen into anki and entertainment with text book on my phone. But, I waste time opening google every now and then to look up things (not the fastest laptop). So, I feel like if I had an additional monitor, I would easily gain some time browsing on it or opening a text book on it rather than using my phone or my slow laptop to browse the net. I will consider getting one😅
I really want to become an anesthesiologist, but I don't have the money or the brains for it 😂. Still, I’m happy watching your content because it makes me feel like I’m getting to know the profession I can’t attain.
Propofall Out Boys?!?! hahahahahaha...This is great information for anyone .. I am finishing my first year of my masters in public health program and I definitely needed these reminders!!!!
It is interesting to listen to the story of a doctor from the USA. But... I listening this and I want to cry))) It would be great if these tips worked for everyone. =) But your videos are still great! As a doctor from rusia, even with knowledge of the language (c1), I cannot afford any variety of options in education. The level of medical education here is terrible for many reasons, mainly terrible conservatism, and for learning somewhere else I need a lot of money. And of course politics... I was kicked out (end of last year ordinator, its like residency, but shorter ) due to criminal prosecution for anti-war actions. Of course my career in this country is ruined too.
Go to Canada and practice there, pay is worse then the US but way better then basically all other countries. And try immigrating from Canada into the US then
@@SpiderKidoesMinecraft for now my target is Germany. =) (I have german roots) And well... Canada is steal really expensive for me and my family. People in post soviet countries are very poor. And me and my wife are not so poor compared to others. Anyway, thanks for advice! =)
Sevo and Iso are also available as a nasal spray. That gives way to the idea that they aren't readily volatile enough to spontaneously evaporate faster than one can work with it. As thus, I can't personally say what would happen if you'd inject it, but it would burn. It would likely have a similar effect to inhaled plus the peripheral extra side effects which may or may not be damaging. Iso and Sevo are very very scarcely soluble in blood even when inhaled, so injecting it would likely result in an embolism, as it fails to mix with the blood and dissolve in it, and starts causing exchange mayham. Interesting question.
Great advice. You are a teriffic role model. I'm sure lots of medical students will be asking for guidance from you. Congratulations for all you do!.🌷🌿⛸️

Awesome video as always! Plus, really enjoyed the slideshow of your pup in the back!
Thank you for the tip on the stethoscope! Was worried I’d have to spend $200+ on the one my school “offered”. Great vid as always Max
Max, your advice is true regardless of the professional degree one is pursuing.

Perfect timing since I'm starting med school next month lol
Thanks for the upload Dr. Feinstein! Did you get your masters concurrently with med school and at the same campus?
How do you feel about using cannabis as an anaesthetic agent?

Listening to you is like taking blood pressure medication.

Oh, by the way, for me learning a language works better with videos (like yours) and I also read a lot like UpToDate and Usmle First Aid
Oh oh... And one another tip! Really cool app for all of students (IMHO) is Obsidian.

I know that Isoflurane and Sevoflurane are for inhaling only. But if you were to inject them into a person, what would happen?

Dr. Feinstein 🎉🎉
Haven't been accepted yet, but I'm still going to watch the video (don't tell anybody!)
You got this 😉
I thought you were going to encourage med students to get a dog when you said we could see your next recommendation behind you.
Hah I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a dog unless you have the support in place for one
