these trucks are so simple , they are cheap to fix . my 2007 2500 silverado has 300k miles on it and it still runs great . the transmission is not expensive to fix if you rebuild the one you have, rebuild kit is 350, find a local rebuilder for 350 labor and 150ish for a torque converter
Change the transmission filter and do a fluid flush. 90% positive that will fix your problem if it only pulls when it’s cold. I had the same issue with my 6L80. I did the filter/fluid change and it resolved my problem.
look to the right of the engine bay theres going to be a ground connected to the firewall that connects to the back of the block, clean it as best u can and add another ground (got one at orilleys) just connect to fire wall along with the other connected as well and route to the block. Just make sure u get long enough wire & should fix that issue if possible try n pull trans codes
Just dealt with the same issue on a truck I got from the auction for $100. I would drive for a few miles it would warm up then lose all gears until I shut off and restart. I figure the filter was clogged causing no pressure getting to the pump. I dropped the pan and found quite a decent amount of metal shavings and a little chunk of aluminum more than likely the rotor from the pump. New filter and fluid it drives perfectly fine now… FOR NOW
Before you swap the trans, clean all the grounds, flush the trans & replace filter, add Lucas trans fix. & have it tuned with hp tuners. & add a 40k tru cool. I bet you’ll revive that transmission
Great find. These are great vehicles and will run a long time if you take care of them. The 6L80 trans can have some problems but this could be a simple issue to fix. Obviously, check your fluid level and condition. I’d pull the pan and see what you’ve got going on in there. Should give you some idea about the condition of the trans. Also this could be a shift solenoid causing the issue which should be a cheap and easy fix. If you can get access to a Tech2 scanner, this is able to talk to the transmission, as the cheaper scanners won’t. I’d highly recommend buying one if you’re going to be keeping this ride, they’re well worth it. Also, I bought mine from Chinacardiags, which is a clone of the real Tech2. $250-300, rather than 1500-2000. Good luck, and keep up the great work and videos brother. I love the Honda content, to go with my 98 EX coupe, and I also have an ‘03 Yukon, so we’ve got similar vehicles. 😁👍
Once you get familiar with GMTs, you can fix so many things cheaply. Good support on forums, too. I understand some people don't like them - they're not perfect, but like I said, once you get familiar, you're good to go on a bunch of GMT platforms.
Batteries: i have had success at my local Home Depot Exide brand (which is a top brand and there are not many companies that make batteries). Just in case you need a another one. Run maybe $10-20 less than Autozone.
Good luck brotha 🙏🏼 like everyone said check the grounds before you buy or rebuild a tranny! Could be a couple bucks to fix instead of a couple thousand. Best of luck God bless
6l80e that made it 240k miles is pretty rare. Can find a junkyard pullout for cheap if you dont mind doing the labor and risk of it failing again shortly.
I had a Cadillac CTS first Gen and it did that transmission thing. It drove great but when the fluid got warmed up it wouldn't shift at all. Cheap fix honestly. Just a shift solenoid in the transmission. Labor cost more than the part lol . Okys you grt a transmission flush too so that helpful.
Justin I am so grateful that i have run across your channel. You are a blessing. I live here in Blythewood SC (Columbia) and would to come visit your shop. I have a 2009 Avalanche i picked up VERY cheap. I have replaced the engine and a beefier transmission has been installed. Now i need your magic touch for paint. Is that something yoi can do? Just want a respray nothing fancy as it is a work truck
Great choice these SUVs are awesome. We have 2008 Cadillac Escalade and a 2015 Tahoe and owned them for about two years now and only put $1000 into both of them. not bad in my opinion
Hey my man. Ive been watching you since the blue civic build. It was you that started my fire for civics. I have a question my friend. The black xxr wheels on the blue civic, I know that they are 15's, how wide are they and what is the offset. I really like the look.
My man, I appreciate the quick response. I know you're a man of God. God's blessings and Grace be upon you and your family. Keep on fighting the good fight. 😃🙏🏽
Whinning could be Torque Converter or shift linkage loose. I cannot remember if that year has AFM. Please disable that crap!! Get someone to tune it out. Drain the transmission fluid and replace filter. I have a transmission here that i took out of my Avalanche for a bad Torque Converter. No shavings at all!! Bought a transmission out of a 6.0 Yukon so it is more rigid! Let me know. Again i am in Columbia if thst helps. I can sell you my old one (just put the TECHM from yours in it) or we can trade what do you think??? I got your back
Do you plan do do anything about the active fuel management or are you going to leave it as is? Nice find. GM has made some excellent vehicles in the past and I hope this is one of them.
@@79thproductionsgood call. For now, at least get a range DOD disabler that just plugs into the OBD2 port. About $100, and worth it. The DOD is a death sentence for these otherwise awesome engines.
I had a 2007 Avalanche with 275k miles...ran perfectly, like new. Minor maintenance and never had any major repairs. I sold it and regret it. Chevy makes some gooooood vehicles.
meanwhile I want another 99 Ranger like my dad's (or try to get it off of him) but most of them have blown head gaskets, no title, etc & ask like $1500 for it while a clean & bone stock one is $5000+ 🙃
Lkq you can get a transmission much cheaper and it comes with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty, and or a used and you can get a 12 month 12000 mile warranty as well
I literally did this on my dads 2011 silverado. There was no screen in the hole and the screen that came with the new sensor wouldn't even fit in the hole.
@AGPROD. it definitely is problem is when it comes apart it shoots fine metal throughout the tranny that's why it moves when it's cold because the filter is clear once it warms up the filter is plugged with the metal. only way to clean it all is fully disassemble it
Get ready four DOD 4 cylinder 8 cylinder You have to take the heads off I did it big job 2010 and up. They have v. V. T. Timing. Maybe gonna hear engine lifter noise. I hope not
there was a bulletin of the transmission. a bad ground was the issue.. There is a fix for it.. look it up.. great find!

Great content brother. Great find and Good luck with this project. 🙏🙏🙏
small detail but the thumbnail was simple and attractive, it blended in with all the other large youtubers that i’m recommended

Were those gunshots at 8:43?
could be a rifle like a 762 or 300 magnum but sounds like constuction or something banging to me as well
Bad ass for a grand

Looks mint for 2010
Nice score, good luck

I don't care that it's not a Honda. This is super cool too man!
Great find
Hell of a score brother! Even if you didn't need or want a car it's hard to pass on a Burban for 1k!!
Pay your 30% credit card debt folks and I mean pay 5-10x the minimum payment. It will do wonders for your finances.
Thats a basic of the basic which is white canvas for you to do whatever you want congrats on the purchase and let the project begin 😂 God bless
@8:46 Bang Bang 💥💥
Woah we are gonna ignore the rare pre 1999 Odyssey! So uncommon nowadays. I do see plenty 1999+ ones though.
3:50 super common for those to go out on those trucks
Check the grounds for the transmission
Well done!
*What about a transmission flush, new fluid and new filter?*
Let's go Justin my boy 💪💪💪
the timing on this video is crazy. I was just looking for a suburban today
Nice DVD player too
You got that Thang for a steal good shit
Great stuff
You picked up one of my favorite Suburban models the 2010 suburban will last you YEARS if you take care of it
It would be really cool to see the 79th production special touches on this truck
Man, im in the greenville area. im trying to catch deals on the marketplace like this
I am super excited about this guys
i have that exact same car, color and all. great car
Oil pressure switches are cheap and easy to replace on those
Could be shift solenoid maybe???
Were those gun shots?
Is raw performance in lenoir nc the same as infamous motorsports? Has your tune from them been reliable? I’m looking for a tuner in NC
Yes, I heard will is working at infamous now. He is a great tuner
@@79thproductions thanks for the reply, I’ve heard good things and I’ve heard people say they aren’t any good. If you’ve had good luck I may try mine
Looking forward to that transmission swap
If that's solid then look into the transmission control module
man justin your video to short lol we miss ya bro
Thats a steal for a thousand bucks. Congrats.
this might need some repairs
*but*
could be a good project
Bad battery, truck went into limp mode. It will also go into limp mode on a bad alternator.
That a.good year for that suv
Why don't you try and change the transmission fluid first?
Where do people find this stuff? Around here even $3500 would barely buy you a burned up chassis that used to be a car fire
Tbh I was told jumping starting a car is not good from the dme.
I literally did this on my dads 2011 silverado. There was no screen in the hole and the screen that came with the new sensor wouldn't even fit in the hole.
Find one hit from the junk yard. If it’s hit it was definitely on the road driving lol.
i rebuild transmissions for a living any questions id be happy to answer them for you
I was wondering since it’s automatic could it be the torque converter?
@AGPROD. it definitely is problem is when it comes apart it shoots fine metal throughout the tranny that's why it moves when it's cold because the filter is clear once it warms up the filter is plugged with the metal. only way to clean it all is fully disassemble it
Rims for the first mod. 😊
Maybe it need some transmission fluid flushed?
Isn't there Trans filter to change first???????
God bless

did the dsm ever get done
I'm figuring it out right now. I got the rebuilt engine in, but it starts and cuts off after 5 seconds.
