He’s still a kid growing into his man’s body. In a couple of years, he’s going to be a monster for the Habs.

Exactly! It always seems like taller players take longer to develop in the NHL, so once he gets more experience and constant confidence he will be a big difference maker all the time

One thing Slaf really has is his personality. He’s going to be a leader in a few years. He’s self-confident but not arrogant. He’s funny and always joking around. I think he’s pretty humble too-he knows he has to work hard and doesn’t look for excuses. His big body can be misleading; he’s still only 20 years old. Whether he becomes a star player is up to him, but I bet he’ll be one of the best franchise locker room leaders in recent years.

I remember Shane Doan said it took him 4 years to find his marks and momentum in the NHL, and he was also a big player. I'm not stressed for Slaf at all...

his contract will be huge steal in next years, he is proud to be hab, habs are proud to have him, perfect guy for right team, I have never ever doubted him since draft, had to acclimate in NHL in rookie year, work on his weaknesses, hes still learning to use his body but showing glimpses of what he is capable of, once he will put everything together he will be superstar

Dipshits who think Slaf isn't the 1st overall pick in a redraft (that Grav guy) don't understand that point totals don't immediately mean the success of a team.
Slaf is a huge part of building a team that will succeed in the near future.
If individual point totals meant best player for the team, the current leafs would have multiple cups right now.
Ovi would have more than one (hopefully he gets another).
Slaf is a monster along the boards and makes that top effective at playing other teams top lines.

He’s also the first forechecker on line 1 being able to set Suzuki or caufield up, and he’s looking less lost, finding his role

He has the potential to be a MONSTER!. The kid was 6'3" 240lbs at 18 as a HOCKEY PLAYER!!! Not footall. Not rugby but as a Hockey Player. And on top of it he's not just huge but intelligent and talented
the kid is a total freak

Slaf in the corners, against the boards and in front of the net is unstoppable. Guy is strong. His hands are kinda slow but it takes time

Indeed, Slafkovsky is highly talented and despite this present season's (2024-25) almost disappointing performance, he does promise a lot. He is only 20 years old and he must work on growing self-confidence, muscular strength and bone density. I do trust Martin St-Louis to understand all of this and to keep backing Slafkovsky as possible. His potential is quite impressive.

Sadly Habs are not without having some of the most ignorant fans. Most of the fans that hate on him would have picked Wright. Even every single one drooling over Cooley would have cheered if they selected Wright.

Correction, @ 4:40 & 4:47 you emphasize that it's the end of the game, when it's actually the end of the 2nd period. Just thought I'd point it out.

5:43 he didn't shoot in top corner like you said, he shots between the leg pad and the blocker, tiny little space.

Happens to a lot of big players. Joe Thornton, Rantanen, Corey Perry, even Jamie Been took 5 years to become the good player we've seen, etc. Also, Slaf played in Europe, so it was going to be tough for him, everybody knew this. He'll get better with time he's only 20. Watch out in 2-3 years when he'll be confortable with his size and stuff he'll be a 25-30 goals/ 70--75 pts guy with 200 hits per season, a skilled powerforward. He have 110 hits in 46 games and he could do even more.
