No problem

Cheers mate
Really enjoy watching what you are working on and the technical details you give. Such attention to detail. Appreciate you sharing it with us, thanks.
Awesome, thank you!
It's always AWESOME watching you guys what you bring to the table cheers
Our pleasure
So good to get home from a long day at work and see an Astill design XC notification. Great work as always Howard.
Cheers mate
Thank you Howard, I really appreciate you doing these videos. Awesome work!
Glad you like them!
I want to confess to using Bog , CAMTEC ? (Blk & Copper) tin in the 90's in my xc van gutters .. sufficient for the time ..
Looking a pretty picture Howard 👌
Will be good
Enjoying the Xc van body build segments Howard, I know the factory build quality atrocities these commercial vehicles hide,
Well done to you and Mr Blackman, 1st class build as usual.
Thanks mate, yeah close enough was good enough
Looking fantastic so far, awesome update, looking forward to seeing more Cheers 🍻 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🏔🏔🌨🌨❄️❄️
More to come!
the gutters at the front just kept getting longer , the xd xe and so on run right down to the trim on the A pillar and run the water through there , not surprising they rust on the a pillar , its looking very good mate , love it cheers
Thanks for the info.
Been missing the PV build. Great to see you getting back onto it Howard. Cheers.
You and me both!
Almost forgot the amount of work that's already gone into the van. It's coming along nicely.
Yes mate, one step at a time
Thank you I’ve been waiting the 10 weeks for this for the update on the panel Van
Hope you like it!
G'day Howard, this is going to be a bloody beauty when it's finished. It was great catching up with you at MotorEx.
Cheers mate
Great to see work moving forward again on the van, been looking forward to some more progress on the XC, nice work boys, sill panel welded solid to the rear quarter is great move, used that method on my XY and other restos over the years, works great. 👍😊 really looking forward to some more updates on the van thanks Howard.
Cheers mate, 2 weeks in Qld now before I get back on it
Great show to watch you working on the panel van again
Cheers mate
Thanks Howard I’m doing an XC Ute ATM and this video has provided me with valuable information
Cheers mate
Good to hear
really love your work howard
Thanks mate
looking great, excellent video
Thank you! Cheers!
I remember doing a cut and shut on an xg van. the area above the drivers door where it meets the roof was damaged and took ages to get it right,,where the roof rails and the upper door meet. a small area that i had to beat for ages prior to welding cos you cant sand filler in a tight triangled area well. had to metal finish the panel before I welded it back in
yeah they are a bit messy around there
Thanks for the video H. The pv is coming along nicely.
Cheers mate
Hey astill top job, in the old days no-one l saw sealed and paint bare metal areas. Great job on the video 👍
So true
Howard living legend
Cheers mate
Acres of metal on those vans, coming along nicely.
So true
Wow good work on the van Howard, Look out for the mighty P76 at cooly rocks.
Will do
Mate I'm hangin out for this build. It's looking awesome 👌🏻
Saw you today at Bowdens.
Cheers mate
Hope to see you at Cooly rocks
We will be roaming around for the 4 days
Some how missed this one looks good. I thought it was interesting that the rear quarter lights were vertical not horizontal my xb coupe is an early one but it was my understanding the tarmac warriors said it was a safety issue and made them change to horizontal mid xb era. I may be completely wrong of course I'm one of those owners that cant help themselves and gets tickets lol as long as its fast that about fits my budget at the mo next caretaker can restore it. It already has quite a history now on file. Fun to watch it looks easy lol.
😁🇬🇸🤘
Yeah I think the vans all stayed vertical
@@AstillDesign looks way better that way for sure. I nearly brought a gs 302 4 speed identical to yours same color green. Mid 90s regret it now there just something about them that's just right stock body with a few "tricks" love watching this build.
😁🇬🇸🤘
Awesome work mate. Magnum Force 2.0. Will you be going to the Hardtop Anniversary in Tassies next March to do some filming ?
That’s mate, not sure about tassie
Love your work Howard. Is this going to be a daily or show??
Bit of both.
Thanks Howard for sharing your knowledge, great work as well and showing your and Darren's skills. A lot now work than meets the eye, have a safe trip to Qld enjoy Cooly Rocks2024 will be looking forward to your video on it. Do you plant o go to Beachfest Caloundra while in SEQ? Bill Mc
Hey Bill, yes Beachfest then Cooly
Great to see your process Howard, your attention to detail is 2nd to none and i am looking forward to seeing more, do you have any tips on fitting" rear door belts" on xa falcon?
Make sure all the clips line up, fit before the glass by using a pin punch in the centre of the clip with one solid hit with the hammer.
Insert the glass without the runner fitted. Then mount runner to glass while in the door.
@@AstillDesign Thanks. Do you have to cut the outer door belt where it sits against the quarter pillar? Cheers, Pat
Not sure about that off hand.
No worries buddy, thanks for time, ill move forward , cheers..
Wow! Looking great. Looking forward to the colour selection. Any clues?
Yeah mate, a new version of Sherwood green
Can't wait!
Helllo @ you 2 masters of str8 panels, That van is going to look out of this world, what colour have you decided!!! a factory 1 or its original colours, Im looking 4 a panel shop @ the moment to do some major work on the xy but im at a point where i mite sell the lot & buy a new Mustang 🤔🤔🤔
It will be a custom mix of the XC colour Sherwood green.
Most people seem to regret selling there old cars
Looking good Howard. Couple of questions, as usual.
I'm going to be doing a clean up and repaint of a heavy truck soon. I will be getting the chassis blasted and then I want to epoxy it to seal it up as it will be a few months before I get round to painting it. When it comes to using filler, do I have to clean all the epoxy off 1st, or can I fill over it.
And 2nd question is, can you please find out if possible, who is the NZ agent for the Merka products.
Thanks again Howard. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video on the van.
There are plenty of options when I googled Mirka NZ
Epoxy straight after blasting then fill over the epoxy. Same as body work.
Use Epotec or Deltron DP 616
Check out the Camaro paint series we did
Hi Howard I seen that you welded the seam up on the lower quarter if you were to use a seam sealer what would you recommend to use to seal it and what method do you have a video applying seam sealer thanks in advance loving the build 😊
I would paint it with epoxy first, then use Sika automotive sealant adhesive. I’m pretty sure we have it in one of the Camaro episodes.
Push as much in as you can then clean up with prepsol and a clean cloth to the desired look.
Thanks very much 👍🏻
What happens when you have epoxy’d parts of the car and deoxodine next to it? Does it ruin the epoxy and then have to be stripped off?
I would normally sand to an edge, but a clean with methowater and Prepsol should do the trick
@@AstillDesignthank you
Howard I love Ur work but... that's one ugly duckling car.. that roof doesn't do it for me.. but legendary work brother 😮
Are we looking at the same thing?
@@AstillDesign 😂thats what i thought
