- Hey folks! In today’s video we’re back with more modded Balatro. This time, we’re trying out the UnStable mod which adds a variety of new Jokers, Tarots, Enhancements and even a new consumable type in Auxiliary Cards which offer tools to shape your deck in unique ways. For this run, I played on the Utility Deck which gave me easier access to the Auxiliary Cards allowing me to build towards the 21 of Diamonds playing card. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

That's very true. With his modded runs I've hit those frame-by-frame rewind buttons much often, than anywhere else. That's like a pixel hunting game lol
I loved when at around 38:53 the dude in chat got confused AF about the 161 card and Roffle just talked about it as if it was just another tuesday
I used to that when I was learning the game and I'm still doing it sometimes lol
found it pretty frustrating that this is roffle's first video on this mod and he didn't bother hovering over, like, most of the new cards. i get that he's played before and knows what most stuff does already, but considering it's a mod (and especially considering it's a less-known one) i would think he would at least hover over stuff for a sec to let people check the effects
Same. I find that I often rewind and try to play back at 0.25x speed to get a sense on what the deal is.
Alternatively, you should consider adding the card text to the video description.

he does that with every video, you definitely have to infer a lot of stuff abt cards and effects unless you're super familiar with everything he plays with, unfortunate

While the frustration is understandable, it also makes me excited to try the mods for myself.

5:35 .... I'd like for Roffle to consider adding a text that shows what the NEW cards do for us to understand... sometimes the editing doesn't help like in this instance, it's almost impossible to know what he chose, even pausing is hard...
if you press > or < on keyboard you can advance frames while paused

@@Petal316yes but not everyone is on a computer, i also struggle pausing and playing on mobile because of the new ads that pop up when you pause, accidentally pressing the next video button
Roffle posts these streams almost entirely unedited. I understand why that would be nice, but it would massively increase the his cost and time per video and he’s mainly a streamer, not a video creator.
@SeaTurtle1122 not everyone has the time to watch an entire vod, or have the energy to look on a wiki or something. we just want to enjoy a video, and in a game like this you kind of have to know what's going on to really enjoy it. I still liked this video but I would've enjoyed it a ton more if I knew what was going on
Something that a lot of other rougelike content creators do is they overlay a freezeframe of the description of a central item, so that people that don't know what that item does can read its description without interfering with the content. It's not very difficult to do, and doesn't take that long. Source: I've done this exact thing before
Watching this was entertaining but also incredibly opaque bc I've never seen most of the cards before. Maybe i'm spoiled from watching Frostprime but on his videos (which are also taken from streams) regardless of if its modded or not his editor puts the relics on the screen for like 5-8 seconds (like to the side) so you can read them. And when he selects a card the card is front and center zoomed in in frame. So I know that kinda editing is possible. I get if he doesn't pick a card don't show it but if he does pick a joker, or a modded card, I wish it'd pop up on the screen what the heck it does. I have a few dozen hours in Balatro and I don't remember what all the jokers do even in base game :T

Use this on an Erratic Deck to start with 12 Queens, most of Spades, to be able to Flush Five early, with a Sock and Bussin early on as well. An Idol shows up towards the middle end of the run, which with enough Deck fixing should carry you to the E Antes

Appreciated that moment during the High Score stream the other day when chat wouldn't stop pestering and you had to throw some bans hams around. Once they've been done over and over and over, jokes about Jokers only go so far, about one letter. People don't realize you're running Tom Dwan-level analysis about future Ante's already. It was a tough ending that close to score last hand, but it didn't vindicate the people who don't understand "High Score" chasing and "Best Run" aren't necessarily synonyms. Enjoyed the peek behind the annoyed Roffle curtain, you're usually and continue to be a vanguard of "it's only a game, why you heff to be mad" mellow gamer. Yooo unstable! This mod got such cool ideas (love the ranks, vintage and promo cards are wordy but I love them) and awesome art. It's a lil shame like 90% of its jokers are baaad.
