If anyone was wondering what happens when you withdraw the master sword in the demo here's what happens. it warps you to a hidey hole which has a cow inside and is surrounded by several green ruppees and a few heart containers and some grass patches. Once you exit the hole the game will play out as normally and Navi will say "I can't believe 7 years have passed"

In a few points in this video, Link is attacked and blinking, but his heart meter doesn't drop at all.

Also at 2:53, The Shadow Temple theme is playing instead of the Fire Temple's first theme, (which had islamic chanting) and is most likely a temporary placeholder, although it does sound like it's missing a layer of audio, but I can't be sure as the trailer has background music of it's own.
at 3:27 you can see this is a mixture of footage, as at this point, Link pulses Red when hes hit, instead of Strobing yellow.
at 3:52 the obvious beta fairy is present.
you sure it was the Shadow Temple music? It sounded a little bit more.. scary. Could the original music have been removed?
I actually believe its was just the audio music of this video. Not part of game.
v. 1.1 where they had removed the islamic chanting existed before release. According to what I've read it was first replaced with a remix of the shadow temple theme. So it's fully possible that they could've used a clip from 1.1 for that part in the trailer.
Also, Zelda's ears look longer than in the final game.
his health is just staying the same because of dev mode I would say. They probably have god mode on.
Someone, somewhere in the world, must own at least one beta copy of Ocarina of Time. What a thrill for everyone in the Zelda community to be able to experience it if it ever surfaced online in the form of a downloadable ROM.
I doubt review sites like IGN would have been sent a complete version of the game. I suspect they mostly got sent images and video samples. However, with todays internet streaming technology, it would be nice if they could reupload their sources in the type of high quality encoding today.
Internet video back then looked worse than an average vhs recording.
Knightmessenger It would be awesome! I've played through the regular OoT that I'm almost tired of it. LOL But I still get excited when I see beta screenshots and footage from it. Maybe somewhere, someone does have better footage than what was available back then. We can dream, that's for sure. I bet even if a near completed but still beta copy of OoT cart were to surface, it would go for thousands on eBay.
Magazine companies like Game Informer, Famitsu, and Nintendo Power were probably among the ones who got to actually see the preview versions of the game, because they were still more prominent at that time I'd say, and heavily relied on.
Even when the game was in it's final stages of development here, there was so many differences. The debug rom for master quest is nice to look at and all, but the preview build here or any of the early testing/debug roms would be the ultimate jackpot for the enthusiasts who love to uncover these kind of things and compare them to the final release. Keep in mind I am talking about OOT, and not Zelda 64.

I would sell my soul for a beta version of this game! Around the beginning of this year, I became re-obsessed with this game. To the point that I hunted down and purchased all 10 N64 cartridges of the different releases. Can’t say I’ve been more proud of a collection then I am of this 1.

Yea but betas are stages of the game that you can play from beginning to end, but there's quite a lot of bugs and some of the features and models and everything are not final. The fairy in the fairy fountain, for example, used the early model. Hope that clears everything up.
Everytime I see that "NAViGaTR" logo come up in a video, I half-expect to immediately hear the voices of Slowbeef and Diabetus. Hahah.
17 years after Zelda 64's release, I'm still searching for the name of that last, epic music score in this trailer...

I'm probably way to late to comment but in 0:19 if you look carefully, the deku stick reads 1/2. So yeah...
I bet it's for broken stick. In the final game you can trigger a glitch which makes Deku Stick unbreakable but short in half.

The great fairy looked actually normal and not like Miss naked pointy tits in the final game. I also don't get how the action button is set to navi basically all the time. It's a bit weird to think that they implemented rolling so late in the game, a feature that was iconic to the series (until Skyward Sword weakened its purpose and BotW killed it, RIP rolling to go faster in Zelda).

I think you can buy blue tunic before entering the Forest Temple.

Hm. Link had a turn around animation. Also walking over the bridge in Death Mountain Crater sounds like the exact sound effect used for bubbles in the final game. 0:45

i dont know how i havent heard or seen of this trailer footage mentioned before. it must exist somewhere else and this is just grabbed from a particular old channel, right.
im seeing and hearing some thing in here i havent before, adult link seems to have been originally voiced by a woman, could have been young Link's VA doing a deeper voice.
3:28 the footage turns into a blurred mess, but Link is doing something here that i havent seen before. or else it might be a weird error in the early build, but it LOOKS to be the "jumping" and landing uphill and then sliding? like i see a dust cloud and Link keeps moving along in that pose.
i thought it was a scrapped dodge move for a second there, but it seems it could be a combination of things.

No, all beta version of OOT are still stored in Nintendo's HQ in Japan, IGN and others just received video footages, etc. Someone from Nintendo EAD need to dump it like it was done for the Debug Rom ... But I'm a lot interested by the Alpha version of the game (with Aria and Zelda 1 counterpart)
iZephiirES oh lol, okk, if they only received footage from the developers.. what it seems weird is how in one of the trailers you can see Link walking through the Master Sword, is like whoever was recording in that moment did it in purpose xD :P
