Another lovely show, Sarah, filled with gorgeous nature, joy, and creativity.
I also commute for work, staying several nights a week in the town where I work, and then returning to my home in Eugene. I have a few projects that just stay in one place, and while that definitely delays progress and creates interruptions, it also simplifies packing and gives me something to look forward to at each home.
Thanks so much for sharing your natural and created beauty!
Thanks Wendy, Isn't it hard? Maybe I need Rob to outfit the back of my car like a mini craft space for storage. I'm not sure I can leave things behind! Happy commuting and I'm glad to hear from someone that is in a similar situation!
Thank you for your lovely vlog. I enjoy seeing all of the crafts you are working on. Loved the nostalgia for the old Lopi sweaters and finding patterns pre-Ravelry. Reminds me of a lovely green Lopi sweater I made for my then 2 year old daughter❤😊
Hello! thank you for your kind comment and reminiscing with me and lopi sweaters ;)
Your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing! I also always appreciate you sharing the vlogs that you enjoy. It’s nice to add some new ones to the mix!
Dear Paula, thank you. I am glad you found some new vlogs!
The descriptive word that came to my mind for your Lopi Sweater repeat from so many years ago is perhaps: Nostalgic Reverie. A reflection of our past and present selves.
I admire all your projects amidst all the responsibilities you have in your life.
Dear Latah, your description is much appreciated and spot on! Thank you for helping me out. Your kind comment is much appreciated!
Another great video so full of inspiring makes. As I live in Scotland it was good to hear you will be visiting our wonderful country. Thank you Sarah
Hello Christine! yes, as soon as I know when school will end, our days have been thrown off by snow days, I will book my reservation! I do love Scotland, one of my most favorite places.
I'm so glad I find you. I really enjoyd your podcast. As a fairly new podcaster myself I really love to see all the podcaster that knits and spinn. Much love from Sweden
Dear Emilion, thank you! I am so glad you've joined the party here on TH-cam knitting vlogs!
Thank you beautiful friend ❤❤❤
Just love the quilting pattern you choose. You mentioned the Gentle Knitter, I miss her videos, hope she is well. Your a super Aunt. The kiddos will have wonderful memories.
Dear Diana, thank you! Nicole's videos are the best aren't they? I so appreciate your kind comment!
I would love to help you warp! Only problem is I am in New Mexico! Maybe zoom? Thank you for plugging my favorites: Lisa with soulful spinning, Yarn Chaos, and Ivana with Republic of Me. You all make me so happy and keep me grounded. I love knowing there are others that love fiber as much as me. So blessed!♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dear LuAnn, I wish you could! Cross your fingers my friend will come north. I am so glad we both share a fondness for those wonderful vlogs. And I very much appreciate your willingness to reach out for help with my weaving.
Hand quilting has such a special quality. Your quilt will certainly be a heirloom piece. Seeing your niece and nephew playing on the frozen pond is such a joy. So many memories they will treasure in later life I am sure. As always, dear Sarah, your channel is so special. I appreciate all the time and care you take in making it. Take care and I hope your school year is going well and not too stressful.
Dear Lisa, thank you! Those two stinkers keep me on my toes for sure. We are the verge of a snowstorm as I answer this so remote school day! Loved watching the Polworth episode tonight.
You never cease to amaze me with your compassion and dedication you put into you projects. Each project is a piece of art and one of a kind. I’m very proud of you.
Thanks Mom, aw shucks....
Hi ✋🏾I enjoyed your video so much. I just don’t understand why TH-cam is just showing me your channel. Happy to find your you.😊
Hello , i am new to Your Podcast and i enjoy it . Thanks a lot! Have a Goodland time 👋👋👋Kaansy
Dear Kaansy, Thank you! Appreciate the kind comment.
Thank you for your beautiful offering on this channel! I'm looking forward to checking out some of the vlogs you mentioned but just wanted you to know that all the wonderful things you talked about receiving from others are the things I get from you and this vlog.
Dear Amy, thank you! I so appreciate such a generous and kind comment.
Thank you for your beautiful work. I agree. Lisa's podcast is wonderful.
Thank you Jacqueline, I am so appreciative of your kind comment. Yup, Lisa's podcast is pretty wonderful!
Dear Margaret, YES! your advice about setting my machine down is taken to heart! I'll be asking for a sew-ez table for my birthday I think. I'm thrilled you found me through Selma's podcast and have such a strong interest in the textile arts. Welcome and thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Your niece and nephew are adorable! They obviously have a blast with you! Love your beautiful projects and color choices Sarah. So funny, I just finished a sweater using Tinde, and will be making another from the book Wilderness knits. I love the hillesvog colors. If you talk to Nicole, can you tell her she is VERY much missed on TH-cam! Thank you for another relaxing podcast.
Dear Christine, thank you! Those two yahoos keep me on my toes. The Wilderness Knits Book is intriguing. Two Tinde Kindred here huh? ;) I will relay the message to Nicole, she's a really gem, and I miss her episodes too.
I bought Manchelopis in 3 undyed colours- white, a medium brown and a gorgeous chocolate brown. I’m dark brown almost impossible to knit with so I assume it’s an even shorter staple. The white is definitely the easiest and I would think all the dyed colours are dyed on the white. I’m thinking of spinning the dark brown which defeats the purpose of buying Unspun but it might be the best way forward as I got very enthusiastic and ordered 6 cheeses because the colour is so beautiful.
Hmmm? That is so interesting the brown is preforming so different. I wonder about holding it with a mohair or a lace weight wool which might add some stability but of course change the gauge and the overall effect. I can see how one might get carried away with the natural colors ;)
Thank you for this beautiful podcast! 🐑♥️🐑♥️🐑
Thank you Jennifer!
Not sure how you seem to get so much done! Nice to find a knitting podcast produced in Maine. I live near Acadia National Park.
Thanks Jackie...sometimes it feels like a whirlwind for sure...I have to admit I could spend more time on cleaning ;)
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the Marge of Lac Labarge I cremated Sam McGee.
OK. Now I'm Jelly. Scotland AND The Yukon! Canoeing The Nahanni to keep Rob happy??? Maybe?? Hike The Chilcoot Trail? (A once in a lifetime adventure). I admire your knowledge and appreciation of place and thing around this world. I have always wanted to spend the evening of June 21st on top of the Midnight Dome in Dawson City (Yukon) with the locals watching the sun not go down! ...We your knitting fans will live vicariously through you this summer!
Oh Gail, of course you can quote Robert Service! I'm not even mentioning the Nahanni River to Rob! He's using this as scouting trip to go back for paddling ;) There are just a few places that draw me in and the Yukon is one of them as was Gotland. Funny, obscure adventures from past lives? I don't know but I'm excited to document them in the vlog!
love that poem
It's no surprise we enjoy the same podcasts 😊 I really love your Jay Sweater ❤️
Thanks Cary...no surprise at all ;)
Aw dear Sarah 🙏🏼 I want to echo and send that beautiful affirmation back to you “MANY fond wishes and blessings”. I am so grateful for your kindness to mention my channel. Your episodes inspire me (that colourwork sweater in cognac!! Gah!!) and ground me, which, as someone who spends 75% of my life at 40,000-ft is something I really treasure - creatively and literally.
Namaste
Dear Leanne, thank you. Every time you post a new episode, it feels like settling in with an old friend. I take to heart your very generous comment about being grounded even when you spend so much time at 40,000 feet! XoXo
I just watched my first episode of The Knitty Stew thanks to Sarah's recommendation (I think it was your #5 St John's New Foundland) And I'm hooked on both of your podcasts. So thanks to you both! Time for bed.
Loved the quilting section, I am new to quilting so found it really useful
You knitting projects are gorgeous, I particularly loved your all over colour work; it is stunning ❤
Dear Carol, thank you! You should checkout Laundry Basket Quilts @laundrybasketquilts for some fun quilt inspiration and technique! I'm joining her in the latest Quilt Along Stars Upon Stars...
@@FiberTrek Dear Sarah, thank you so much for your recommendation I will have a look. I have just started the Circus Cabin quilt by Stitched in Colour which I am really enjoying ❤️
Nice to see someone a little closer to me, I’m in Nova Scotia 😊. Our winter is a little late this year, but I’m so happy we finally have enough snow to play around in. I’m interested in knitting in either Nutiden or Manchelopi, but then you mentioned Briggs and Little, which perked up my ears. Of course they would have something similar! I’m so used to looking further afield. I am interested to know which of the three you prefer for sweaters, that are not as “woolly” as the Plotulopi? Also, your quilting looks amazing! Take care
Briggs & Little Roving is wonderful to work with and so readily available to you in NS. Cheers from a former Dartmouthian transplanted to Calgary....
I loved this podcast. Lots of fibery content! I’m also interested in how the unsoun yarns compare. Are any next to skin soft?
Oh I love Nova Scotia! Thank you for your kind comment! I think Manchelopi would be the most plush for next to skin wear versus plotolopi. I imagine Briggs and Little would be wool pool fleeces so combination of local farms which might be next in line and then plotolopi. Once I get my hands on some Briggs and Little I'll try to be a little bit descriptive of all those I have. Happy Knitting !
Dear Vicki, I think the Manchelopi would be the most readily available next to skin unspun options. It's very plush versus the dryness of the plotolopi.
Wow how do you keep track of all your projects? I can maybe have 2 projects on the go, that's enough for me. Enjoying these, thank you.
Dear Anita, I must be channeling my inner border collie ;). But in all honestly, sometimes they do fall to the wayside. I find my vacations to be helpful in organizing!
Love your podcast, just wish you’d leave your notes below. I can’t access them on my phone.
Dear Nadine, I am so glad you enjoy the vlog. Yes, I leave the notes on my Patreon page and my vlog at www.fibertrek.wordpress.com
@@FiberTrek Thank you
hi Sarah, always a treasure...I was wondering if you ever saw the pattern Emma, by Tamara Moots, it is a very well designed pattern, but i also think you would like to know its named after a real person emma greenwood who was the first female thru hiker of the Appalachian Trail in 1956( if memory serves me ) when she was 67 years old!...i knitted it this winter out of Briggs and Little
Thank you Karen, I will definitely check out the pattern. My husband completed the AT and of course we live close to the terminus. Briggs and Little is a perfect match!
Another great episode! I was so glad to see a new one out this morning and I’m excited about just signing up for your patreon page ❤
By the way, I can’t wait to see the moon quilt with hand stitching on it. It’s going to look so beautiful.
I almost fell out of my seat when I heard my name and TH-cam channel 🤭 My name is not very common so I’m always surprised to hear it (even in my own country) but it definitely surprised me hearing it on TH-cam 😂 Thanks for the shoutout and I will be sure to let mamma know as well. I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel.
- Birgitta
Dear Birgitta, Thank you! I had to include your vlog in my recommendations. And I hope I did your name justice! I am so appreciative of your support and am very excited about our connection. Happy Knitting and can't wait for your next episode!
I love seeing what you’re working on! Could you please link Lisa’s vlog? I couldn’t find it. I’m also doing a breed study and the fiber I’m receiving is roving which I’m not accustomed to. I haven’t tried using a drop spindle or spinning wheel before. I plan on changing that when I go to the Maine Fiber Frolic this year so I’m very excited.
You can find her under Soulful Spinning. She actually commented above, so you will probably be able to find her
@@ailienrhijnsburger5178 thank you so much!!
Thank you Stacy and I'm glad a viewer was able to help you find Lisa! Maine Fiber Frolic is just around the corner!
Thanks for the help here Ailien!
Could you have used a Frixtion pen?
Yes, I thought about that but this e-z dritz appeared more in my quilting research. We'll see how it all works out!
