This is a well made, beautiful jacket. I love the piping around the edge of the jacket and pockets which adds a special touch to this jacket. You did a great job. I am on a journey to learn how to sew on a sewing machine and watching your video and others helps with inspiration 😊
I’m currently dreaming of sewing a simple spaghetti-strap dress (I love wearing them over turtlenecks)… only patchwork quilted on one side and reversible!
Lovely! This is some thing I do on the regular, and when I started using a walking foot, it made life a lot easier. So if you have one, give it a try and if you don’t look for one, that’ll fit your machine.
I want to make the Morgan boyfriend jeans by closet core. I’ve had the pattern, the material, the zip, the button, the needles and topstitching thread for over 2 years but haven’t pulled the trigger. I think I’m scared to mess up since I’m in a bit of money! I could toile it but I hate toiling! One of these days. I love your girl’s jacket and congratulations on another baby on the way!
Oh I know the feeling of having a project that intimidates you...but it really is so worth it to give it a go! Especially with a toile ;) You got this 💛
I love the finished product.🩷 I’m working on sewing a dress, a shirt and overalls for my 3 littles in matching Christmas fabric using two of your patterns.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful jacket. It can be challenging sewing with a loft like that. Many years ago I made a puffer vest for my husband & the fabric was a polyester type rip stop. I know I didn’t make another one. I enjoy your calm relaxing creativity. Merry Christmas.
I love it! The twill tape for finishing the edges looks perfect! And thank you for linking the brass snaps! I might just have to do those instead of regular buttons 😅 oh and you could always use some of the fabric from this comforter to make a Morea bag if you wanted to match but not too much! I have a bit of leftover quilt left from my matching jackets and that’s something I want to do.
Precious jacket! I miss sewing for my children. My dream projects would be to make each of my four grandsons a quilt and to make curtains from drop cloths. Ah, those broken needles…challenging indeed. I think that’s why I enjoy sewing. Specific needles for each project, correct thread, tension adjustments, fabric weight, it’s all part of the thought process, but you also can walk away and return later and continue and complete the task. I enjoy watching you throughout the process. 💕🙌🏻 BTW, I can’t remember the last time I saw film. Is it weird to say that’s comforting?
I love hearing your dream projects, Angela! You're right about the process, its worth it :) I'm glad to hear seeing film is comforting...it is definitely an art form I have a lot of room to grow in!
I swear we have the same style and mind haha this is the third time you and I have made almost the same thing at the same time without knowing until I saw your video pop up 😂 this is beautiful and love how it came out! The one I made is for myself 😍 I would totallyyyyy wear this one you made
Oh thank you, that means so much to me! And this is such a great sweatshirt from the Love in A Cottage Podcast! Hopefully they will release more in the new year :) You can follow them here: instagram.com/loveinacottagepodcast
Hi Courtney!! I’m hoping to make my first Billie jacket soon and just want to say that I SO appreciate all of your tutorials!! Thank you!! Also, where did you get your peacemakers sweatshirt you’re wearing in the video? I love it!!
Your daughter will certainly have clothes that no one else at school will have. Very cool. It’s beautiful.
Thank you! :)

Oh this sounds so beautiful - especially love the thought of how you style them over turtlenecks.

Thank you, Catherine! It sounds like you have a full sewing list which is exciting, I can't wait to see what you create!
J apprécie beaucoup votre travail ❤
I am dreaming up a pair of regency short stays and an over bust corset. That is after I created a couple Victorian / Edwardian era nightgowns
Wow! That is very inspiring!
You are some talented girl. Beautiful and so warm.
I appreciate that, thank you Susan!

You're right - the higher loft can be challenging. A walking foot I think would help next time! I imagine a puffer vest was challenging too!
A small blessing!
:)
What a dream!! I wish I could come a take a class! ♥️
Aw thank you, Trisha!

Thank you, Liv :) I love that idea of making the Morea Bag from some of the leftovers - perfect idea!!
