    What about not knowing what you want? There have been times I thought I wanted something, especially after exploring into it, only to find out, nope I don't want this. Which leads me back to not knowing what I want.

    • @joeylott568
      @joeylott568  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Another way to view this is that you are in the process of learning what you want. In that context, discovering that you don't really want something you thought you wanted is a useful part of the learning process. It is not a failure. So you are doing well by continuing to learn.

    I do have days like that, and I feel the problem is lack of clarity of purpose. I feel if I could nail that down I could get through any feelings. so I'm listening with "obtaining clarity of purpose" as what I want lol....as I type you answer my question lol...why don't I wait until the end 😂thank you for sharing ✨💚🙏

    I've been going towards this something for as long as I can remember, but honestly I don't know if I ever really wanted it at all now. I feel like a jackass following a carrot on a stick and the carrot is all dried out and unappetizing. This was incredible, I've heard this question so many times but never truly listened. This was helpful to highlight that the things that we have practiced, that are now easy to do, because we’ve practice them so much (comfort of scrolling/distracting)… are they leading you in the direction of what you want.. You mentioned releasing the feelings you are feeling… are you angering? Are you saddening yourself… so you said release those to make available the things you want.. How do we release? Somatically, just sitting and allowing the feeling? If you feel inspired to dive into releasing the feelings and letting go, that would be helpful.
    Thanks for sharing! You inspired me to stop scrolling and realize what I’m doing isn’t going towards anything I really want, I’m avoiding the uncomfortable feelings and put too much meaning into the comfort pleasures.

    The ability to somatically release along with your pointings have been some of the greatest shifts in my journey! Sincerely!

    Hi Joey, thanks for the video! I would like to ask about understanding how I am doing the feeling. In my case, I have feelings of sadness and being abandoned. I realize that these feelings are a results of me thinking of how a relationship did not work out. I go over repetitive thoughts in my mind of how I could have done things differently. But even though I realize this, the feelings don’t go away for more than a second. I think I don’t understand if the solution is to stop these thoughts? Or just to realize that I have them? Thank you 🙏

    • @headbandassasin
      @headbandassasin หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try imagining the opposite. Even if your mind tells you you are silly and wrong. It might be easier than you think. Or remember a situation or time there was the opposite and feel that feeling. For example if you feel abandoned by someone, do you have a memory of someone, like a friend or experiences with people where they made you feel wanted and included? Visualize that memory and linger into the feeling of acceptance etc remind yourself you are worthy of it. Just imagine yourself being the opposite of what you are presently feeling, weather it’s a memory or a complete fiction of your imagination.

    • @ceciliabruma3658
      @ceciliabruma3658 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@headbandassasin thank you! But if I do this isn’t it a form of me avoiding the feeling of abandonment and sadness? For some reason I think that I am supposed to allow these abandonment feelings to be felt. I think on some level if I imagine being wanted and included it means I have to give up the other feelings and I think then that I abandon myself. 🤯 thank you ❤

    • @headbandassasin
      @headbandassasin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ceciliabruma3658 So feeling that you are wanted and included is abandoning yourself? That means you define yourself as abandoned. So you must feel bad to feel good?

      Hi Cecilia. You have identified what you are doing...at least part of what you are doing. You write that you think of how a relationship did not work out. In order to think of how a relationship did not work out, you are most likely seeing something and/or hearing something. And you are doing it repetitively. If you are seeing something (in your imagination), probably you are looping that same painful scene over and over. Try this: consciously go back in your imagination before the relationship. Then play the "movie" in your imagination from before the relationship, through the relationship, and after the relationship continuously all the way to now. Do that several times if needed. That may help you to stop looping that painful scene when you give yourself the proper context. Let me know how that helps.

    I'm blocking myself from getting a job because I'm antisocial but I also have ADHD so I couldn't focus on my work from home job either and I'm stuck IDK what to do at this point I really need advice on what to do about this situation

      I’m in a similar scenario except i just need to get out of the 9-5 as soon as possible, i loathe it, that’s just the truth. This is after 10 years of fulltime work as an assistant nurse too. Doctors said i had ADD as a kid, tried some meds but soon after felt that something was off. This issue is in my mind/body, my body can literally heal itself, why would i need pills for that? Lol. Anyway, i struggle to focus on stuff etc. The way around that when i’ve REALLY needed to get stuff done is to either schedule it and do ir as efficiently as possible in the spirit of ”let’s just f get this done”. Or i just get pissed off and do it right then and there lol.
      Now i just want self-employment and financial freedom (who doesn’t i know, eureka, we get it). I’m just open to pretty much everything at this point. But come from a working class background so it’s a new world in a sense. There’s a lot of bs to filter through in the category of self-development too. Loads of people just hopping on the band wagon to make money but who can blame them ig.
      All i can say thus forth is that internal freedom is unparallelled. I believe in aligning with my truth. I believe i can create it, i’ve manifested smaller things though. It’s a journey. Regardless our worth or value is instinsic and never tied to our productivity in the eyes of society. It’s fundamental and unchanging. I believe we make our truth according to our sense of value.
      In terms of focus and attention with attention disorders. I’d wager you would need to find something you really are passionate about, this way, it wont feel like a chore. I’m trying that myself, just connecting to myself (without the interference of the outside world and others) it just feels right.

    A strange thing happend me the other night. I woke to go to the bathroom and I just felt different; I was calm, I felt powerful and all the usual annoying automatic thinking processes were gone. I felt in the moment, authentic and real. It was a great feeling, the way I'd always like to feel. I kind of see it as a breakthrough. How can I prolong this balanced feeling, Joey?

    What about feeling like something like a diagnosis is happening to you? Like ADHD. I'm trying to make logical sense that this isn't "something" that is happening to me.. while feeling the classic symptoms like being easily distracted, brain fog, unease etc. Thank you in advance.

    Do you have any thoughts on overcoming struggles of different sizes?
    One question I run into very often is how much resistance/effort to dedicate to the everests vs the anthills
    The everest might have gold on the other side, but what if the anthill has some top-level silver?
