beautiful video. you are in my city! the streets of ancient Sassari in the 60s were covered with asphalt. About 30 years ago the bitumen was removed and they restored the old pavement where the horse and carriages passed. The ducal palace is now the seat of the city mayor.
Thanks Bianca it brought back memories from my visit in 2015 . The main piazza in Sassari is very lively in the evenings and watching the people enjoy themselves is a treat. They just discovered the ruins of a castle below the piazza but as it was still being restored , I could not go downstairs and inside. It is close to the open air elevator. The family kept on bugging me to choose which place is better , Sassari or Alghero because some live in each town. Enjoy yourself !!! Sassari and Alghero
I'm so glad that I could bring those memories back for you. It sounds like you have a beautiful connection to Sassari and Alghero. I want to explore Alghero more too. I have no knowledge about the castle ruins, that's fascinating! I wonder if it's something that can be viewed now?!
Thanks for this Bianca, the ducal palace was especially beautiful but the whole town was very interesting. Love the marble, of course. Would have enjoyed a trip inside the cathedral, maybe next time? ❤
@@mariefontana7383 yeahi enjoyed the palace too. As far as the cathedral goes, you’ll have to come visit yourself to see it or I’ll have to break the rules to sneak some footage… but there were cameras inside so I doubt I’ll choose that option.
@@livinglavitasarda interesting, I visited other churches where filming was okay but I totally appreciate the rules to not do so, as it’s a holy place, not a tourist attraction. Maybe I just will, one day 😇
Sorry I had to comment again, it is not common to find a Chiropractor - great news. Could the closed shops (etc) just be the traditional closing day (Monday, perhaps?)
Oh please take the bus and show us. I'd love to know what its really like living in a small town and travelling to a bigger town/city in Sardinia. I have taken the bus many years ago in Sassari but it came on time and seemed to be full of school children (so maybe had to be on time?). I'd love you to vlog it - see if it turns up - etc.
@@livinglavitasarda Great news - thanks. We have a family joke about a vacation on Isola d'ischia and inland buses. All the buses that circumnavigate the island were (mostly) on time but the routes inland were a joke - didn't turn up. One day the bus caught fire but another bus driver told us to wait at the stop and he would send another bus (off route) which he did. Great fun haha. Looking forward to your bus trip.
@@Ponkelina caught fire?! Well I'm glad you weren't on that bus! I'm really curious to see what happens here. I know they arrive in the early morning because the regular bus is also the school bus but I'm told that the likelihood of a seat is not high... I'd like to take a non "school" bus.
Thanks Bianca for taking us along on the tour of this beautiful historical place in Sassari❤❤
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Oh my! You are so welcome! It was fun to buy you a vino. 😄 I’m honored you mentioned me in your video. 😊 I look forward to your content every week!
I wanted to show my appreciation :)
Hello again and thank you for sharing a little piece of your life, always appreciated 😉
Thanks for watching Jerry!
