My sister, her significant other and I bought a mobile home and split it in half. That gave them the one kitchen. But I had 3 bedrooms. So I turned the 9x9 bedroom into my kitchen. I used 3 rolling cabinets I assembled to do the various cooking on - had stainless steel tops. A rack of metal shelves with plastic bins provides most storage. A induction cooktop does most cooking. A combo air fried oven does most oven work, and a microwave serves to reheat. Oh, and an instant pot. I’ve lived with this arrangement for 8 years and love it! Oh, I too do my dishes in my bathroom sink. A shower curtain separates the rest of the bathroom activities from the sink.

I watch a great many TH-cam channels based in Italy, as someone who will move there within the next 3-5 years. But your channel is refreshing because you're a single woman, which is how I will be making the move as well. (Most channels feature couples, who can lean on each other and help each other. Many of them also have money, whether it be retirement funds or successful businesses they run, and that money makes decisions easier for them. I can't relate to either of those types of people, no matter how much I enjoy them and their channels.) The unfortunate series of events you've experienced is quite tough, but you're navigating your way through it all. Watching you get through it, pull yourself up, and get things done is inspiring for me. So, thank you for sharing it all and never giving up!
@@WriterJenOnYT ahhh, it lights me up to read comments like this! @@livinglavitasardaSame! Another single childfree woman here from the UK looking to move to Italy, too so your content is very relatable. I’m exploring, Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia. My concern as I will be living alone is safety and hope to build community with locals. ✨❤
@livinglavitasarda I'm interested in the whole process of setting up life in a new place, creating a new home, but as a single woman, I'm interested in things like feeling safe at home and in town, doing things solo (like when you put that box on your back in the other video to get it up the stairs, I thought "Oooh! Great idea!), how it is to meet people and make friends, how Italians react to a single woman without a child, if you find that male workers talk down to you or not (like when I take my car for repairs, men often talk to me like I don't know how to Google the basics!), etc. I know all parts of Italy are different but any insight will be helpful.
If the terrace is where you are happiest, renovate the terrace first. A coat of white paint on the walls will make it look fantastic. Then get some outdoor furniture up there and maybe some sort of small outdoor kitchen. Paint the room beside it and turn it into a living room, or maybe your bedroom. And then the top floor becomes your sanctuary. Then get the rest of the space sorted out.
