Thanks for the mention Jacques ❤ ...your tips are so useful 👌 I used your people's shave post shave with a phoenix lather , so simple ! No splash needed .....ps the Cadman and sons Bengal is a beauty I've 2 now 😍. Wonderful shave video , keep it going ❤❤❤.
Great shave Jacques! After the first pass and seeing the close up of your face my thoughts were “ one and done “, no second pass required. Now I'm going to dig out the my old Bengal and give it a go! Seems I didn’t appreciate what I had in my stable. Cheers MikeR.
great feedback Mike, much appreciated. dont really need to do a second pass but it’s such a anticlimax only doing 1 😂 Go fish out your Bengall and report back for a shave 🖖🏻
@@dappershavesWillDo! I have a quick question, I noticed that as your shaving you have no problem stretching your facial skin, even though your using tallow based soap, which I use most often as well. My problem is my fingers seem to not be able to get a decent purchase, unless I use alum on my fingers and then this sometimes transfers to my face and will cause the razor to grab or skip. Alum really knocks out the slipperiness (is that even a word?) out of the lather. The only other solution I've seen was from Dr. Matt, who uses a cloth over his hand to help get a grip. I've tried this but found it quite awkward, the cloth seems to get in the way of the process of shaving. Any thoughts on this? Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with us ..Cheers MikeR.
Great shave Jacques…I agree with your opinion on quality of steel today compared to the vintage blades. There’s just something about a properly honed vintage razor that provides a better face feel and post shave feel for myself. Today’s razor makers do fantastic work and are producing some amazing razors, but for me personally if I had to choose one I always prefer vintage steel whether it be Sheffield, Swedish, or Japanese. Great content as always my friend!
Beautiful shave and historical information shared Sensei. Thank you for introducing me to Bengall. I now have two of them. Baby 5/8ths, one in plastic scales and one in horn scales like yours.they shave so beautifully and take crisp smooth keen edges thanks to the purity of steel as you have highlighted.
Beautiful shave, Jacques! I must agree with your comments on the importance of quality of lather. I have 3 Bengall straights and love each. I don’t always comment, but I’m watching.
Nice shave Jacques. I only have one Bengall razor. All i know is i want more Bengall's:) It seems like you can hone it on just about anything and get a good edge.
kind words and spot-on observation on Bengall edges John, much appreciated. Vintage Sheffield performs excellent on all natural finishers. the heat treat on these seem wonderful. tried them over the years on BBW, coticule, jnat, thuringian, yellow lake and unknown slate. I'm sure synth edges will be just as good, maybe a fraction too crisp???
@@dappershaves I just rehoned my Bengall razor. It had a shapton pro 30k edge. That was too much for me. So, now put a nice jnat edge on it again. Too crisp, yes.
Nice shave and video Jacques
thank you so much Jim! best wishes Jacques
Got that razor singing like a bird 🐦 the audio is great 👍!! 😊
enjoy the weekend Michael and thank you for the comment and support, best wishes Jacques
