Steam era equipment...the only reason why I model HO still. Love what the community in HO has in terms of options, and like the fact you touch on stuff us N scaler's get. Just wish there was more options in N for steam ere equipment rather than all these mid-century-current era equipment. As nice as those Athearn SD60's are though, I'm not touching or handling another Athearn engine again, especially from Genesis. Had an Ho ES44 Really well detailed, however I LAOTH the lack of an option to get a lesser detailed model from most manufactures, Athearn being number one on that list...and is also the reason why I wont buy anything other than rolling stock from Horizon(and one of the reasons I switched to N scale)
Thanks for the kind words, I'll show off the N scale things as they appear in the various spots of the HO newsletters. I agree with the second part too, it seems like we're moving towards exclusively "rivet counter" models from most manufacturers. While they look great, it's a little taxing on the wallet!
Very excited for it as well. Definitely wait to sell until the BLI release comes just to make sure it does function well and look better than your brass model
They have a picture in their update of some of the shells mid-painting, and their delivery schedule online (which isn't super up to date) has them listed as "First Quarter 2025". Sounds like we're still quite a bit out from those arriving
They were $260 last year, double checked my invoice. It does appear that there is more in this year's box though but really up to you if it's worth it. It's basically the current price of a sound loco with free swag/rolling stock if you don't care about types or road names
@@da-joe-trains well I'm bummed as I posted twice. Mostly that you should check out the Rapido pages on the SDs as they were announced a while ago as the test shots show. Also alot of other new stuff by small new manufacturers like Prairie Shadows. Gonna add something hear as the new Walthers flyer just dropped. Walthers showed off a nice under car auger. I've been pushing for these for _years_ Sample was at the show, but it didn't make the catalog cut. The thing about these is everyone owns their ow,n so you can sometimes see several along a spur. A near switching 'problem' for basically empty space.
Yep, did a little more research after posting the video on the Rapido SDs, looks like that's not brand new info but neat to see those samples. I wish I could have gone to Trainfest as I definitely missed out on smaller manufacturers' new releases like you mentioned, I'll take a look at that it sounds neat. And maybe you're the reason for Walthers' auger release too, wouldn't that be sweet!
@@da-joe-trains Go to 1:16 in on his vid,, also note behind it the over car safety rails for working over hopper cars. Modern modelers will luv to get those. I remember the 1st time I saw those in Santa Maria (CA) where plastics plant unloaded hoppers and wondered what the heck they were. The worker straps a tether to the thing and can walk around on top of a car without fear of falling. neato
My mystery box came with an Amtrak Turboliner 5 piece set!
No way!!! Haven't seen anyone else get that, that's so cool!
@@da-joe-trains I'm still in shock.
Holy crapoli, that's awesome!!!
I just received my mystery box and also got an Amtrak Turboliner, too! Mine is in the Phase V paint scheme. Money well spent!
@@sherman2501 Mine is the PH III (Early)
Thank you for making this video. It is appreciated.
You're welcome! Thanks for the support!
I model the 90s, but I'm getting a Yellow Jacket!!!
That's a model worth going outside your normal time period for!
@@da-joe-trains absolutely! I'll run it on my C&NW business train. In my layout's reality, the C&NW has a steam preservation program, lol.
Your layout, your rules! Love that idea
Great 👍 video 📹 sr
Thank you!!
I have been waiting on those sd10's for almost a year now. Also picking up some of the new u25s from rapido.
Sweet! Are you getting the Milwaukee Road SD10s or the other schemes?
Hi DA Joe Trains & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks DA JOE Trains & Friends Randy

I might have to sell my brass C&NW Fox River.
Very excited for it as well. Definitely wait to sell until the BLI release comes just to make sure it does function well and look better than your brass model
@@da-joe-trains definitely! If it was Rapido releasing them, I could sell it now, lol.
Any word on Rapido’s mythical H 16- 44s?

280 for the mystery box seems a little steep. Wasn't it like 200 last year?

@@da-joe-trains yeah a little closer than I thought, guess it depends on the locos available. Thanks for the overview video!
No worries, definitely a better deal if you get the PA A/B sets I've seen some get. Thanks for tuning in!

I am not, I don't see any comments flagged as "held for review" either so I am not sure what is going on?
