    Women in New Delhi stand up against society's stigma: India has only recently openly raised its voice against one of society's most unjust stigmas: the incredible devaluation of women. Yet women show their strength with their testimonies at New Delhi's Soniya barbershop.

    Some women, however, have found the strength to resist society’s stigma. Soniya has a beauty parlour and barbershop in New Delhi. She survived one of such experiences. She makes it her mission to give beauty and self-respect to the women around her. Barber Shop India demonstrates that beauty lies in the mind.

    She's so sweet and humble, despite her disfigurement she makes others look and feel beautiful. That's amazing. God has a purpose for her, her testimony is part of God's work.

    18:20 This is extremely sad! Imagine listen those type of comments during your life! Nobody helped when the first woman suffered that insane attack! And that demonstrates the importance level of women in the Indian community!
    I want to thank
    wocomoHUMANITY for these 6 amazing documentaries, as
    Christopher Paparisvas said, and really well said, "well shot, raw, no narrating, perfectly balanced" on the Ep. 4. The no narrating give us the viewers a true feeling of being inside of these stories! These Women were victims of a real cowardly attack! and with their Strength they did not let themselves go down! These Women are WARRIORS! And a Truelly example of Inspiration to All the Human Race. Thank You wocomoHUMANITY

    Soniya has such a beautiful spirit and I hope she is doing well these days. I have a decent life but if I’m ever blessed enough, I would want to go to Mumbai, Delhi and other places where these attacks happen and spend time with these beautiful and courageous women who don’t let the worst of things in life keep them down. I appreciate this series but more so, I appreciate these women. ❤️
    *EDIT*
    I was only partially into this video when I made my original comment and I’ve just gotten to where her sister comes to visit. I’m already bewildered at the strength and beauty these women have shown. I wish them both all of the best and that they continue to feel love and support.

    She is so strong. Did they get who did this to her? She should be allowed to do the same to them and see how they manage with the disfigurement. The perpetrators deserve life in prison as they affectively taken these women’s lives and dreams from them.

    It's such a sickening cowardly thing to do that i would agree with DS Rai's comment that the scum who inflict these horrific injuries should have the same done to them. That way they can feel what it's like to be disfigured and have people staring at them and judging them for the rest of their life.

      It is more of an issue of toxic masculinity. These guys get rejected by the girls and they have trouble accepting the rejection due to ego. They take revenge on them by throwing acid.

    I have a question to anyone living in India: why do I see a lot of indians mixing english words into your daily routines? Or is it just my impression, and a handful of hindu words really do sound similar to english?

    • @adamharris5003
      @adamharris5003 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      English is pretty universal and the advancement of social media and entertainment causes more people to learn several words

    • @MauMenzori
      @MauMenzori 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamharris5003 Ok, I see that. But... I know english I and I don't go mixing things up in front of other people, because that would feel strange TO them, you know? Specially when communicating with someone with no english knowledge, you might end up looking as "know-all", even arrogant. See what I mean?

    • @adamharris5003
      @adamharris5003 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MauMenzori I get your point, I'm pretty sure they only incorporate simple english words here and there because it feels second nature. Ex. Thank you and okay. Look at the school event, the teachers and some students seemed almost completely fluent in english as it is taught in the curriculum there from a young age. If you say thank you or goodbye, chances are 90% of ppl would understand, and even higher chances if they are a friend of yours and you say it knowingly
