    3:00 My customers are super niche Recycling. For skills, i join startup groups, for referrals, i join groups that are full of my competitors or they are focused on sales and marketing in recycling so I assume they are complementary and i can also aquire skills. Finally, "3" I have joined 30 groups of waste management. This is where my customers hang out in. Then i post articles in all of the groups. The one that get the most impressions i push more articles into.
    Let's see if i can add value to this video?
    4. I once a week tell my behind-the-curtain startup story as a means of engaging with all my audiences.

    Interesting how you classified the 3 group categories, spot on. You you said "it's been really helpful" for you flooring client to join facility manager groups, but the question is...did your client book any work at all from that effort? ;)

    • @DelawareShoutOut
      @DelawareShoutOut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank's for asking, Bruno! The flooring client and I were working on a short-term project, part of which included identifying groups for him and training him how to interact with group members. My client was a real go-getter and was excited to have lots more facilities managers with whom to build virtual relationships. Knowing him, he took *full* advantage of the opportunity and got some business out of it. So I don't have exact stats for him after-the-fact, but I felt really confident that the results of our project would stick. It doesn't always end up that way. Really, the clients who succeed are the ones who take my advice. :-) And that's what I tell clients before they sign up with me, because I really want to only work with those who are willing to make the most of our collaboration. (This is probably more than you wanted in an answer from me -- just wanted to provide some context.)

    • @brunovincent1969
      @brunovincent1969 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DelawareShoutOut Actually this is a great answer. It's important for clients to collaborate (and cooperate!), because while some of them are like "just get it done"...sometimes it's not enough, because we need input and feedback from their business so the strategy can be effective. Been busy, but will contact you this week. Thanks ;)

    • @DelawareShoutOut

    How long would you wait to message them after engaging?

    • @DelawareShoutOut
      @DelawareShoutOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a really good question! I think it's fine to message a week or so after engaging, as long as the message isn't sales-y (directly or indirectly). Feel free to share a study or other information that might build on what they're posting, so you can start a conversation. Don't try offering your services (or a conversation about your services) until you feel you've earned that trust. It is a lot more work, but your success rate will be a lot higher.

      I would have a catchy caption and a link. If the link doesn't populate a really nice clickable image, then create an image on your own to include with the post. I'd also recommend posting more than once so there's a greater chance people see the post.

    Do you know how to change the URL address for your LinkedIn Group?

    • @DelawareShoutOut
      @DelawareShoutOut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking this! I don't believe you can do this directly on LinkedIn, at least as a manager of a group (I'm the manager of two groups but not the owner). I'm also not seeing instructions on this when I Googled it, so I don't think it exists yet. What you can do, however, is use a link shortener program like Bitly to create a custom URL if you're looking to share your group's URL with a nicer-looking URL. I hope that helps!
