One thing I love about the big trio, is that Luffy is 100% convinced that Zoro and Sanji will always jump in to save him from mistakes or prevent them entirely. And that Zoro and Sanj have never let him down.
What’s more impressive is that Zoro is able to position himself to be in the right place in time… I swear if he wasn’t thrown at pica he’d have gone the wrong way.

Sengoku doesn't seem to be able to use his Buddha shockwaves outside of his golden Buddha form, so it's logical to assume that Luffy can't use the full power of his fruit outside of Gear Five either. And as far as we can tell, gear five isn't even an awakening. It's just Luffy actually using his full zoan form, that he never knew he had. Everything Luffy had done up to gear five was utilize his zoan hybrid form to its maximum potential, similar to Kaku using his giraffe body in weird ways way back when.

He did use it, he just didnt realize it and it was a weak form compared to what he develops later. Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy all used Haki pre timeskip. They just didn't know. Which was why Zoro was also able to cut the steel baroque works agent.

@@david95ms I get what you're saying, but Oda was already teasing Haki pre timeskip under everyone's noses. Hence Shanks losing his arm and scaring the Sea King away scene. Kuinas father was technically also alluding to Haki as a techniques, but he too most likely didnt realize that their was a term for it. Just like in Skypiea when their was another word for Haki. Also same thing in Wano, it's all haki just known differently to different people in a different way. To develop Haki requires skill and strength and mastery of your body. So technically their is more to being a swordsman than just pure strength, to be a swordsman like Mihawk requires immense training. Haki is not some trump card power up that you can just activate, it requires mastery of ones body so to recieve it should be a testament to ones skill. Not just some powerup if that makes you feel better about it. Its skill, which Zoro has and that's what makes him a great swordsman, not brute strength.

@@david95ms I get what you're saying, but Oda was already teasing Haki pre timeskip under everyone's noses. Hence Shanks losing his arm and scaring the Sea King away scene. Kuinas father was technically also alluding to Haki as a techniques, but he too most likely didnt realize that their was a term for it. Just like in Skypiea when their was another word for Haki. Also same thing in Wano, it's all haki just known differently to different people in a different way.
To develop Haki requires skill and strength and mastery of your body. So technically their is more to being a swordsman than just pure strength, to be a swordsman like Mihawk requires immense training. Haki is not some trump card power up that you can just activate, it requires mastery of ones body so to recieve it should be a testament to ones skill.
Not just some powerup if that makes you feel better about it.
Its skill, which Zoro has and that's what makes him a great swordsman, not brute strength.
Zoro also swipes grass with his sword and doesn't cut it at all. Came across as a show of improvement and enhanced control more than him suddenly using armament AND observation back to back. Him finding "a way to cut steel" with just a sword sounds like more of an accomplishment. @xsneakatokex8783
