    If you would like better acceleration. Go into the p settings by pressing the power and the mode buttons at the same time. Then short press the power button until you get to “p12” then press the mode button to change the value. Should be a value of 1 through 5. When I switched my turbowheel lighting to a value of 5 it’s acceleration was impressive and almost to much to handle at first. Wants to rip out of your hands if not carful and now practically does standing burnouts. Also if yours is the same as mine it should have the ability to activate cruise control if you go to “p17” and switch the value from 0 to 1 which should turn it on. At least that’s how mine works. I enjoy your videos! Congrats on the scooter! 🛴

      I just got a scooter and didn't know what the p was. So thanks for explaining it. The only scooter I ever rode was a razor scooter 20 years ago. They took alot of exercise to go far. Now the scooter takes little to no effort to go miles.

      "Customization to the controller and motor" does not mean "exactly the same". These are actually large differences. Battery brand used is also a big one. (Yet I went cheap and bought the D6+ with off-brand 18650 batteries)

    i think the apollo pro is still the better deal, they did a flash sale recently i almost bought 1 but im still hoping for black friday. price dropped down to 1699 with no usa tax(187$) + 100$ in accesories and upgrade. it has 22ah and LG batteries with 2year warranty. just my opinion. i was hoping your next scooter was the apollo pro cause you beat the heck out of your scooters so we can have a good review, but i guess this is close enough.

    I've got about 800 miles on my Zero 10x, just north of you in SLC. Noticed a little wobble at high speeds with factory provided handlebars. After switching to a wider handlebar with less rise I haven't noticed any wobbles.
    Just upgraded my brakes to hydraulic. Check FalconPEV. Around $125 and not very hard to install.
    Also going to install thumb throttle, wide road tires and rear air suspension to get ready for next season.

    I've got the Apollo Pro and I don't have any issues with turning needing extra umph turning off of center. You mentioned the acceleration not being very fast (And maybe it's just me) but you can modify the acceleration to be faster/slower in the throttle menus if you hadn't done so already

  • @dpetey85
    @dpetey85 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Received an Eagle One yesterday. The right brake doesn’t work out of the box. It has no pressure at all so I’m assuming the hydraulic brake needs to be bled or have mineral oil added. I let Varla know about the issue, sent video. They acknowledged the issue and did NOTHING to try and make it right. Said, “thanks for your understanding” which I guess is a nice way of saying piss off. People need to know their support is terrible and I would assume the warranty is worthless and they have similar tactic for any problems you may have. Keep in mind this is brand new out of the box and reported to them the morning after the scooter arrived.

    i dont notice any "locking" to forwards position on my turbowheel lightning. my big problem is that after bumping a rock i lost the front motor. thats pretty unacceptable for a scooter that supposedly can go offroading and costs 1700 dollars. also going downhill and reaching top speed the front wheel wobbles almost uncontrollably and resonates there unless you can muscle it out of that wobble.

  • @BlockCylinder
    @BlockCylinder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The steering issue you're describing sounds like a defect. Possibly the head bearings are over-tight.
    The feeling you described should be considered a safety hazard, not a feature. If you can feel it while riding and it's hindering you from initiating a turn, I'd call it serious and the manufacturer should remedy the matter urgently.
    I know this video was posted a while ago but I'd love to hear about how that head bearing issue turned out.

    So I'm looking into scooters for a commuter in the small town I live in for a new job coming up. I don't own one, but have been on motorcycles for years and ride motocross.
    What you're referencing when the wheel feels "locked" over a certain speed is nothing to do with design. I'm assuming most scooter riders are probably coming off of bicycles and have little experience with two wheels at high speeds. Gyroscopic stability increases with speed and each wheel is it's own gyroscope. At speeds just under 30mph you cant turn the wheel in the direction you want to turn, you actually have to turn the opposite direction of the turn by pushing the handlebar. It's called counter-steering.
    Basically, from what it looks like, a lot of these super high-speed scooters are going to have more "motorcycle" like dynamics rather than "scooter" or "bicycle" dynamics. I'd encourage anyone looking at one of these to research counter-steering and high speed motorcycle control before purchasing one. Wear gear and stay safe!

    the steering resistance is bugging the hell out of me since the first day i got it, so the next day, i have readjusted it to loose up the steering and added Steering Damper kit on it, make it feel more comfortable. oh, also, I just upgraded both to Hydraulic Brakes, with 140MM original Disc is good enough power to stop, 160 feels like way too much, so after all test and swaping parts out, I will recommend Hydraulic brakes with 140MM disc is good for zero 10X, since zero 10X only have about 70 LBS.

    Wobbles are usually caused by "harmonics" in thenchassis/suspension. If the wobble shows up around a certain speed and fades or disappears again at speeds a little higher, it's definitely something in suspension. I don't recall all the details. Sport bike mechanics will know details.

    Great video. But I understand 100 percent why hydraulic disk brakes aren’t included in 1500-1600 hundred dollar scooters, they’re incredibly expensive. Even when just buying them by themselves. Makes sense even though one would think in this price range they should come on them

    • @ethananderson4311
      @ethananderson4311 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They aren’t extremely expensive.... you can get shimano hydraulic disc brakes for like $40 a piece or go high end with like Migura or TRP at like $100-$150 a piece which are top of the line mountain bike brakes. They are more than enough to stop the scooter. I feel like at 1600 bucks they can include some hydraulic brakes for pretty cheap.

    For almost $2000 ( after Shipping handling & taxes ) you can buy a used motorcycle that will go further faster and have more fun with. IMO
    I like the idea and I think they are on the right path. I wouldn't call this a toy and by the age of 16 my kids didn't want to ride bikes or their scooters any longer. They wanted to drive their cars.
    So in the end I am skeptical of paying so much money on a toy for adults.

      Mir SOWAS von egal diese verweichlichte Gesetzteslage bez. E-Scootern hier - hab mir letzte Woche erst mal 'nen 88,2V Rion bestellt und hier in der Pampa auf'm Lande interessiert das meist eh keinen Bock ob nun legal zugelassen oder nicht.
      Ich werd damit Feldwege und Landstraßen so auseinander nehmen, dass da selbst der ach-so freshe Crossbiker von nebenan ordentlich dumm aus der Wäsche glotzt, da der Rion vom understatement-Faktor nicht zu überbieten ist und im 0-100-Bereich das Allermeiste locker ausperformt was denkt was irgendwie schnell aus'm Quark kommt.
      Segway, Ninebot und Kalle..ich werd nicht mehr wenn ich drüber nachdenke wie sehr diese Krüppelteile den Ruf von wirklich spaßigen E-Maschinen in den Dreck ziehen und wie sehr DE mit der ganzen überteuerten ABE-Geschichte die Leute verkaspert wo die Leute in anderen Teilen der Welt schon einfach nur noch mit dem Kopf schütteln und sich drüber lustig machen.
      Hab seit 12 Jahren unfallfrei 'nen Führerschein, fahre seit 1,5 Jahren 'nen 2000W E-Scooter der 55 fährt und kam noch nie in eine brenzlige Situation, da Verantwortung noch immer im Kopf beginnt - also wo ist das verdammte Problem zur Not auch eben 'nen Führerschein für die Teile machen zu müssen um notwendige Kompetenz zu beweisen?
      Nein, bestimmt nicht im Sicherheitsfaktor so wie's stets als Ausrede genutzt wird, sondern eher, dass DE seinen überteuerten E-Schrott sich dann in Zukunft in die Haare stecken könnte, da China das ganze 20x billiger hinkriegt - aber wo kommen doch gleich die einzelnen Bauteile aus den "made in Germany"-Dingern her...mmhh🤔
      Prescht doch lieber weiter mit eurem Bugatti mit 400 Sachen LEGAL über die Autobahn - am besten noch als Fahranfänger, der grad seinen Führerschein abgeholt hat oder kontrovers dazu als Rentner dessen Sehtest seit 20 Jahren überfällig ist; who cares, hauptsache vor 60 Jahren mal den Lappen gemacht und schon heißt es ungebremst Bahn frei auf der A2 - jupp, Sicherheit geht vor in DE! Da sind etwaige, unzulässige 25 kmh E-Scooter aber der reinste Völkermord gegen.
      In diesem Sinne: Happy Schleiching
