    Note: This scooter now ships with hydraulic brakes! I like to think that my feedback to the company helped make this happen, but in any case the scooter braking is much better now.

      What would one need to do to get one ready out-of-box for the first ride? I'm seriously considering purchasing one of these scooters but I'm not very knowledgeable in terms of breaking systems... any help would be much appreciated!!

    also, eco or one motor mode doesnt make your scooter slower, you can still reach high speeds its just that hills and acceleration are slower with only one motor

  • @NoProGoPronto
    @NoProGoPronto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Most of these companies do put in small print that the 40+ mile range (or whatever number they boast about) is based on “Eco” mode, flat terrain, warmer temps and usually based on a 165 pound rider.

      1700 bucks for 15 miles.... expecting at least 30 miles or more for the money, this is quite disappointing.

    Yeah brakes are SUPER important and ALL 30+mph scooters should come with hydraulic disk brakes and not just top end models. As a Zero 10X owner I went with the 23ah but also bought a external battery pack and I get close to 50-60 miles of range with that type of riding. Nice update overall 👍

    Thank you for the concise and accurate mileage you can cover on a full charge with everything maxed out. Many riders will appreciate your tests as no one wants to be stuck 16 miles from home thinking they still have 24 miles (40 miles advertised) to get back with. I have hand pushed mine already, about 1.5 miles because I expected more charge than I had left in the tank… you’re the best for sharing the real world mileage….

  • @ericfischnaller9602
    @ericfischnaller9602 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just did a range test on my EMOVE Touring (I'm 220#) and got 24 miles with still having a bit more to go - I was on mode 2, so not on the lowest power mode - I was pretty impressed overall. A friend of mine just ordered this scooter so looking forward to trying it myself.

  • @VtecDomani
    @VtecDomani 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Very difficult for a company to tell you how much range you will get in any of the modes specifically, way too many variables (wind, inclines, rider weight, temperature, stopping and starting or constant riding etc) Thats why it’s much easier for them to advertise what the scooter is potentially capable of in very particular conditions. I have the zero 10x 52v 18.2ah and it is certainly capable of 40 miles range.

    For comparison, I rode a relatively flat bike trail for about 23 miles, starting in turbo/single/gear 1 and increasing gears and motors to maintain 20mph throughout the ride. I'm about 200 lbs and hit 20 miles easily. The last 3 miles were spent on dual motor/gear 3, hitting about 20mph

    Even the Dualtron Eagle Pro scooter that I bought for $2,290 doesn’t come with hydraulic brakes. These companies keep cutting corners because we Americans tolerate it and will spend the money anyway. It’s terrible. I am considering buying this Varla Eagle One though. They are running a great Sale right now. Thanks for the great work you do for the PEV community 👍🏽😃

      @NoProGoPronto 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      coolshariq - The Eagle Pro is an awesome scooter. It handles well, has good speed and is comfortable to ride. I haven’t had the opportunity to compare it to any other scooter in its class, but I’m enjoying it. If you can get a used one for the price you mentioned, that’s a good deal. Good luck and ride safely.

    or have they changed it to real hydraulic brakes?

    Can you review Inokim OX Hero or Super? I like that you give realistic measures. I am with OX Hero and with speeds 45-50kmh, 65kg weight city driving. I get 25 km range, but this is with temperatures up to 15C the most, usually under 8-10. I know that outside temp is really important for the actual range. So I will see how much I can get when it's warmer.

    I feel you when it comes to editing videos in 4k just takes forever. So, 15 miles in turbo? I have to think about this. Have you done a mixed ride with turbo only needed when needing that speed? I live on the beach and riding at 30-40 on the boardwalk would be sacrilegious since they are illegal in the first place but tolerate those who ride 8 mph.

    Single or double motor makes no difference. Look at your voltage meter at the same speed in both modes. Both single and dual motor draw the same power, but with single motor you put extra stress on the motor and the controller.
    A guy on a forum did 19 full charge to empty test in various modes, and his max range was slightly higher with dual motors.

    Ik other states arent as restrictive but here it was due to college area being packed with them and the students going full blast while on campus. Leading to some, non detailed, instances.

    Can we manually change the disc breaks to hydraulic breaks on this scooter? I'm not sure if he mentioned it and I missed it. Please let me know.

    I agree with you on range claims by these companies. They should be more specific for it is very deceptive.

    Quick question from the video, do you think the hills would have played a role with the minimum range test?

    • @RK9Rides
      @RK9Rides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think the hills affected it that much, I had just about as many downhill sections as uphill sections which should more or less equate to riding on flat ground

      I just got mine today and I am at a loss for words. Never felt this kind of speed and I love it. I can see why you ride the Mantis. It is fast and fun.

    Live in New York I bought a scooter from a mama and papa store in July 2020 not a bad scooter that goes 27 miles per hour one charge can take me 30 miles the charge time is about 15 hours every week during all the videos upset because $1,500 is what I spend my mind so what I'm trying to tell you this always shop around never become a impulsive because now for me to get parts there's no one around we live and we learn. I have fun with a 500 watt motor so I could imagine.
