HOLY CRAP, do I believe the Oscar hype!!!! Minus One was beautifully done and animated. I wasn't expecting Noriko to have survived, but those Godzilla cells literally saved her neck.
I was expecting you to cry. But I think the fur ball ruined the momentum and mood. The reveal of Noriko at the end was so touching and perfect (or perfectly convenient - wrapping a bow to a beautiful movie).
This is my favorite kaiju film, period. Shin Godzilla and Cloverfield are close behind, followed by Pacific Rim, and then the Legendary series after those. Shall I recommend Daimajin (1966)? A kaiju of a different sort.
In all honesty the IJN Takao could have put Godzilla on notice, Given the G man pause for a bit. However, the plot had to rule and so the Takao stopped on a dime from 30+ knots and then despite speed and maneuverability being part of its survivability package it sat still so the G Man could use it as a scratching post. In reality at 30+ knots and at range (about 14 miles range), It would have force Godzilla under the water to rethink its life choices a bit. I would have been ok with that, having the victory so later in round 2 in a more confined area Like the bay outside Tokio the G Man could have closed with her and then ripped it up. But as I said, PLOT must come first. Any way small thing really in the grander scheme of the movie and over all this is, to my mind the absuloot BEST iteration of a Godzilla movie to date. (My favorite still being "Sone of Godzilla" because it's my first). Oh, and I think the title "Monster Movie" is its own genera apart from Horror as horror does not need a "Monster" per say as a villein.
Shout out to the Japanese actors, writers and production staff who totally snatched their own home grown product back out of the hands of western film makers and created a masterpiece of modern cinema!

Regeneration cells from Godzilla. That's how she survived.

Maybe one of the GREATEST MOVIES EVER! Even better... It's a GODZILLA film!!

If you go to the canard aeronautics wiki page, and scroll down, you'll see this film's plane, a Kyushu J7W Shinden.

Its amazing how good it is. The use of the original soundtrack for the 'ok lets do this' bits 👍. 10 million budget amazing
Textbook lesson on "Doing hat we can with what we got" and "Just plain doing it right."
Toho did to Hollywood what Godzilla did to Ginza!
Lazlo: Hold my beer Godzilla.

Akiko at the end of the movie- "You told me mommy was at work, you lying bastard!"
Oh GOD.
I loves me a re-upload. Stick it to the man!
Well the man keeps sticking it to me. Usually gotta pay extra for that kind of service...
Atomic Furball

No need for extra insertion
i love this video but i think your facecam is hogging all the screen
To be fair, the youtubers have to do all sort of tricks to keep the nasty YT bots who copyright strike videos.
