Ive bought a few used nitros with seized motors that were rusted in place internally. A good cleaning and soaking in alcohol and theyve all come back to life. I bought one mgt 8.0 as a parts truck, motor wouldnt turn over even with pliers, cleaned it all up and motor ran fine

After ceasing 2 trx 2.5 engines in a row. Small back info I live in Canada The west coast of Canada. It’s wet and cold here almost all year. This plays a part of the end result.
My trx engines both new both ceased in the pinch. They both screwed up the cylinder and put a lot of pressure on the bearings.
I disassembled them replaced the bearings and most importantly heated up the sleeve with a hairdryer and forced the piston back and forth in the cylinder while it was really hot. (Lots of oil )
After putting them back together I simply raided the idle so it spins over faster and let them re break in. Since then both have broke in perfect and run great.
Check out either avid bearings or if you go to Jims bearings source out high quality bearings from him and you’ll be set.
    Good video dude 👊😎
If you want to avoid the pinch jam set the idle higher that will help it from stalling at idle and sticking 🤘😊

Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching! I have a few more things I'm gonna try with this engine and if all else fails it will get a complete freshening. Most likely sucking air for sure

Traxxas puts there clutch shoes on backwards and thats what makes it chug like that and thats because the clutch shoes are opening the opposite way, it still works but just frustrating because you think there is a problem i hope that helps some. Happy nitro adventures!

@@kylepurks9654 no problem, I believe the bug4046 has a video that he talks about that as well. If you take off the clutch bell off you can pull off the clutch shoes and then just make sure when you flip them that they open the same way the engine turns and that would be counter clockwise. That will take care of that issue, all traxxas did that for, would be a mutch grater or aggressive shoe ingagment to the clutch bell.

a tip is to choke it with your finger to start these easier, the gas in the garb just floods it out, just remove the air filter and put your finger 2/3 over it

Right on man! Glad to see it going! Probably a good time to do bearings and if you swap in a 3.3 crankshaft it will have better performance and a better tuning window 😉 keep up the good work! 🍻💯🤘🏻

bud all you needed to do was turn the flywheel with a screw driver while it was on, toss some oil in the plug hole NOT THE CARBURETOR!!!!
