Nice video and great racks. One question though, why are you checking temp on top of substrate? Surely it will be too hot if they move the substrate. Wouldn't it be better to obtain the temp of the tub surface, so that if snake moves substrate (as they often do) it wont be too hot.

Gavin, you'll always get a thermal gradient vertically in any rack or stack system when using a single thermostat. The density of the plastic, the variations in density and depth of the substrate, and variations in the efficiency of the heat mats all contribute to this. Your older system have a stat per level, so I'm a bit perplexed that you've opted to go to a single stat for all levels in each unit. No doubt that when the old rack is decommissioned you'll swap over the mat stats? It does look good though, and the PVC will prevent all the resting issues associated with metal racks. I bet your new HQ will look amazing when lots of these are lined up along each wall.

Hello mate how did u manage to get all the mats reading the same I’m having trouble I purchased the rack yesterday and the bottom tub is 93 and top tub is 84 any suggestions
These racks look fantastic and look like they function really well some great details like the recessed section for the heat mat so the tub doesn't rub on the mat to the probe locations will def be converting my home made racks over to these. Thanks for the in depth review

Good on you buddy for looking out for you gym my nephew had is own gym in ebbw vale but it was only 2 years in and he lost it because of the lock down and is over heads got to much so he shut down before he went bust
Just seen this video gav . Stacks are amazing , your logo looks awesome on the spacer part . I got one on its way and will be ordering another 5 , 5 high. I’m going to eventually have all the walls done in these racks with that brilliant spacer part that hides the plugs and wires . I’m gonna go 10 high have you got one set up with the 5 rack + spacer + 5 do 2 thermostats work ok ? I’ve always had 3 thermostats that have worked fine on my wooden racks . Bottom middle top. Hi Gavin, did you use the stats from your old rack so you have one per level in the end? Also I was shocked at the variation in temp in the same hotspots in the divided rubs. Is it not bad that parts of the hotspot could vary 5 or 6 degrees? My concern is that with the space available, it would be hard for the snake to avoid the highest parts. No way am I criticising - I’m still researching - hence asking the question. Cheers👍

That does look like a nice rack! I hope they make it with US plugs also. Have you got their website or email link? I don't find ARS or Freedom Breeder to be affordable. This kind of rack would be just about right for me right now, as I don't have a large number of snakes, but several are getting ready to outgrow their cages.

Hi, do asf rats get big enough to feed to larger ball python females, how chunky is the biggest you’ve had? Would I have to feed two at once or are asf rats not suited for larger ball pythons. I am worried that she will outgrow asf and need to size up to an unreachable size and she may not take normal fancy rats. Will two extra large feed a big female?
Hi ya I’ve ordered Herpxotic racks too and having trouble with the probe staying under the tub and on heat mate. Seems there isn’t enough room for it under tub when u push tub back in rack it push probe off heat mat. do u keep yours under tub or at the very end of heat mat? Thanks jamie
Hi Jamie it doesn't go under the tub it goes to the side of the tub on top of the heat mat don't put the probe under the tub

I have a question I'm looking at getting 3 stacks of 15 high so 9 racks how many sockets will that need can I plug say 3 racks in to one extension on plug to one socket in wall or would it be over load
Hey gav. Do you use 1 stat per 5 also how where have you located the probe is it attached to the mat like ur others
I went to get them put an order in for 2 but because of covid their having trouble geting tubs and mats and they can't say when they will have them but they do look great i will be trying again and hopefully get some because i think i will go for them completely

@@acsballpythons1607 cheers babe ill try and get an order now got an incubator from them a couple of weeks ago they are great bits of kit and the temp difference is about .5 top to bottom great and all you need is substrate and eggs come with their hatchrite racks aswell

Only inconvenience I found with the dividers is when a snake is laying half in half out of the hide bit I can’t take the snake out lol unless I take the divider out or spend 5 mins tryna push the rest of the snakes body through which is easier said then done haha

I saw your logo on the preview and I have to saw it it looks amazing. I wish i could get those racks over here in the states or at least for a good price. I have thought about making my own pvc racks but i have to buy the 4x8 foot sheets out of state and bring them back, or pay about $200 a sheet (not worth it). It would be cool if they did the logo and then added your colors it would definitely stand out and look cool. I bet u could hand paint the background purple and the letters yellow and green to almost match and it would still be awesome
