It's the game trying (and mostly failing) to remind Haelian what the actual name of the boon is.
Hearing Haelian have so much FUN with dad fight is a testament to how much longevity this game has. Years later of constant play and you're still enjoying yourself!
This was the build I used to get my first EM4 clear ever; there's something deeply cathartic about being able to just rip through a run with Merciful End and not even worry about dying as long as you don't egregiously misplay. Love it when the stars align on a run like this.
I actually got SUCH a similar run yesterday just on 16 heat with basically the same set up as you and I got a new PB!!! It was 12:36 I am really proud it.

The Lambent Plume is OP. It was surprised how OP I was in the later levels when it is nearly maxed out.
For impending doom poms, it’s important to compare the pommed doom + ID to the current doom + pommed ID.
yep, that final choice of 5% or 5 flat was wrong, would have gotten more pomming the attack
For that calculation, there is an easy shortcut to decide, you want to increase the lower value of the product.
+105% is the same as *2.05
183 is the same as 100*1.83
So the calculation we can see on the screen is 100*1.83*2.05
So from this you want to increase the curse of agony. However there is also the bonus damage from the duo boon, which is 100*0.4 (right)
So actually it’s 100*2.23*2.05, which means you want to level impending doom here, which means his choice was correct.
I love running the doom fists with lots of athena, especially with the lambent plume. It's so fun and feels so good.

This was how I got my first ever 32 heat em4 clear. I got all dodge boons you had, but I had a epic version of hermes dodge boon. I also had smoldering air so after one call I dodged everything.

Also LMFAO immediately getting the ME prerequisites without either Ares or Athena keepsakes, I'm very excited for the rest of this video 😂 I've only cleared 32 Heat 3 times and all 3 were with ME Fists of some kind (it's just so satisfying!), but usually I go with Gilgamesh and Ruthless Reflex because you still get 3 dashes minimum
I expected dodge chance to have diminishing returns otherwise 100% dodge chance just equals invincibility.

The 32 heat pact you chose is one I've run hundreds of times with Lambent plumb. ❤ the merciful end or crazy lightning runs are def my favs

Bought the game finally about a week ago maybe ? Can't put it down, absolutely love it finished the Epilogue today.
Not a fan of some of the PoP modifiers and there's some annoying inconsistency when trying to get multiple boons from the same God (I feel like they could have added a PoP for that) but overall just such a great game.
I am kinda sad there is no "Endless" mode option, so far as I know at least like Slay the Spire has where every time you beat the final boss it adds a stacking curse and sends you back to the first level with everything you had.
No options for doing custom runs or daily challenges either, hopefully stuff being considered for Hades 2.
It seems like deflecting with athena dash might count as a "near-miss". Not sure though.

there's chambers and encounters,the well items deplete uopn an encounter (except hydralite) and the plume/butterfly upon clearing a chamber
most chambers are also encountersbut the exception are:
-shops are chambers but not encounters
-safe rooms are chambers
-styx rooms are encounters but not chambers
-erebus I don't know

I didn't expect my Blinding Flash drinking game to be such a big mistake...
I do the same thing for this run with ruthless reflex, i get lucky a lot of times with this build and get an epic or rare greatest reflex and it fixes the problem of needing extra dashes and makes it easier to activate ruthless reflex

No, because breaking past 100% is conditional on you using the dash with perfect timing and on having enough gauge to Call. And if you always have the perfect reaction time, then... In theory... The dodge% doesn't actually matter because you could just avoid everything normally...
@@CSmyth-It's a lot easier to get near misses than you're thinking. Since you already have over 50% dodge naturally, you can dodge something then dash, essentially making the timing free. Then you can continue the cycle and get more near misses as you mash dash around attacks without actually fearing getting hit for timing it wrong, which you can see makes him nearly invincible against hades. Also, as soon as you get enough for one call, that's 10 seconds of invincibility which you can easily use to gain more invincibility.

That's exactly what I'm saying, sure, you could get a THEORETICAL 100% uptime on the 100%+ dodge, but it's just not going to happen in practice.
@@CSmyth- Well sure, technically you won't be fully invincible but I'm just saying you can be invincible for long periods of time just by mashing dash and call. Saying the dodge% doesn't matter when it can give you large periods of invincibility for free is what I disagreed with, although being technical I do agree that 100% invincibility isn't achieved with this build.
@@CSmyth- You can reach 100% perma-dodge even if it's conditional. 15% from fist, 25% from heroic Hermes if you get it before Eurydice, 30*1.2 = 36% dodge and you're already over 70% Hell even with a purple hermes you're over 70%. Then you get even the common 30% for 10 second after activating and the boon that allows you to have your bar partially filled at the start + a 5 bar boon and you can have perma-100% dodge. Sure it's contingent on you hitting the enemy so you can get your god gauge charge fast enough but since that condition is virtually impossible to fail, it's permanent invulnerability.
So it can happen in practice, I actually had it in one run, perma invuln.

Huh, I never had issues with my single dash. Granted I still get hit… but if you can survive the enemies, the bosses are much more forgiving to a single dash, and I can’t say that I don’t take advantage of getting close to enemies for the 50% boost to damage, still… I’ll have to give two dashes another shot

17:50 According to Wikipedia, Heelys were patented in 1999. Which makes sense to me; I'm 30 years old and I remember Heelys being out when I was in elementary school. I got a pair and they sucked; the wheels were too small to balance on, so your shoe would always scrap against the ground and destroy your momentum. They fell out of favor for a while, and then recently it seems like they've made a comeback.
Casually get the best combo at the first floor lol
Dire Misfortune is not a great boon, but I think it has a very important place
And that place is as a fallback boon to pick up in case merciful end decides to never show up

loving these videos, just got into hades and I'm LOVING IT! i just cleared the main story (getting persephone back into hades) and honestly i turned on god mode after that bc i want to get to the rest of the story without the increased difficulty of all the higher heat runs. thanks for all these guides and cool builds that keep the game fun!

The dodge rate is not additive. It is multiplicative. If you have the Hermes Dodge boon (10%) on top of Zag fists (15%), the final dodge rate is 1-( (1-0.1) * (1-0.15)) = 1 - ( 0.9 * 0.85 ) = 1 - 0.765 = 23.5% dodge rate. You can compute this using probability of getting hit. You can never have a dodge rate greater than 100% with more dodge boon.
In your current build with 3 core dodge boons and one temporary dodge boon (Second Wind), the final dodge rate is 48% in general and for 10 seconds after using the call, the dodge rate is 67%. Essentially, it's just 1 out of 2 or 2 out of 3.

Could you play a mod where you begin with your desired build and you lose boons after each chamber; let's call this mod - "Angry Olympus"
Dodge rate is additive, the modding/speedrunning community confirmed this a long time ago. You can check the LUA files to confirm if you want. It is very possible to get over 100% dodge.
