Toshiba L55t L55 TouchScreen take apart and reassemble

  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your Toshiba L55t laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Digitizer was broken and I placed it back after removal just to show how to. Be much more careful with a good working digitizer.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Have fun and good luck!!

    Thanks. Needing to replace the screen on mine, same laptop. I managed to drop mine 2 years ago and shattered the screen... I watched your whole video to see how that was done. I'm not using any power tools, but I'm using the same yellow tools.
    This helped a lot.

      +Statia Snyder you see, I like you approach. No critic, just telling what you are using and believe me, I am completely fine with that. I am comfortable with my tools, you are comfortable with yours. And that diversity is great! :) Have fun!

    Watching the removal of the digitizer was like watching Peter Griffin fight the chicken.

    Notice that the 2 wires (black and white) from the screen...were plugged in reverse on reassembly

    is it possible to replace WITHOUT detaching the lid from the laptop?

    How about some voice over? You make it look easy and I broke my touch screen. :,(

    I hate replacing touch-screens. So much. > Well I got this one off with out tearing apart the whole laptop. The two screws are a bit of pain to get out but it's doable. And a Guitar Pick goes a long way compared to a credit card type pry tool. Now we'll see if I can get the new one in with out tearing apart the laptop when it comes in. >EDIT Oh yea, I forgot to mention. I took a good pair of sizzors and cut the ribbon cable coming from the digitizer. Since I'm replacing it anyway I though why not make this a little easier.

    When connecting the digitizer ribbion, is there some secret to get them to lock into place? I do not see a part that i need to pull to help lock them in.

    Probably a dumb question but I'm kinda slow when it comes to working on computers. But would it be the same process on a L55Dt to change the hard drive?

    Some time ago I noticed my power button didn't do anything (turning the computer off or on). Well my computer usually sleeps, this time it turned off all the way for some reason. I get power just fine, nothing is physically wrong with it, but I can't turn it back on. Sounds like it should be a simple problem fix but I haven't seen a power button for sale and it definitely looks different from others on different laptops (not sure which power connector is for the button up by the fan).

      @Jr-jo2up 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sceritz are you sure its the power button , i had the same problem with mine try opening the laptop and unplugging the battery , hold the power button for ten mins and then plug the laptop to the outlet but dont plug the battery in yet untill it turns on.

    • @sceritz
      @sceritz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +salvador trujillo I am used to these problems but I found that the power simply needed to be discharged. By the way you only need hold it for seconds.

      @Jr-jo2up 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +sceritz okay was just trying to help you out, I had to do it twice already -_-

    • @sceritz
      @sceritz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +salvador trujillo I appreciate it. The issue was more that my battery is internal and much harder to get to. I made the mistake of trying every solution except the most obvious to avoid the work. Ironically in the process I made more for myself.

    just did it on a toshiba 55t-no need to seperate cover from latop-although the removal process is not exactly the same as the L55t

    will usually the screen from a non touch version fit the "T" version? i`ll not use the touch anyway and i guess is cheaper to get only the glass without the actual digitizer if mine is cracked? thanks

    What a pain taking the screen apart being glued in. but why taking motherboard out while you can remove the 2 screws from the screen and take it off and replace it the digitizer???

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike K I would say it is not the worst one. There are some HP DV-Series - with a glass bezel before screen. Some of them also glued and it is real pain.

    • @JUST_ONE_ID10T
      @JUST_ONE_ID10T 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike K I am guessing he wanted to make a video showing people how to take it all apart in case someone has another issue besides the digitizer being cracked.

      The title doesn't tell people it's for replacing a digitizer. Just says taking apart and putting back together. Maybe that's why he put the broken one back on.

    I've got a Toshiba touchscreen satellite laptop. The touchscreen cracked after two weeks because there's so much flex in the lid. I've just disabled the software and use it as a normal one now. Terrible design.

    • @regazzz

      niptodstan yeap, that's right, I don't really understand why this laptop even needs a touchscreen!

      abcdefg bhijklmnop My touchpad is temperamental now and I agree on it being flimsy. I've had mine nearly two years and I don't think it's got much life left in it.
