    Sockets really matters, many people buy the newest impact wrench or tool but chose the cheap or wrong sockets, ending up reducing the power and the result the tools should come with.

    Thanks - nice, concise overview and I now understand the function of the small hole at the base of impact sockets!

    What a clear and articulate video! It really gets right to the heart of the matter without any unnecessary rambling.

    This is an excellent video. Very informative. I work on my 2 Military Humvees almost every other day and didn't know this till now. I figured it was kinda just a marketing scheme to get me to pay another 70$ on sockets, but this is hyper helpful. Thank you!

      You know i always have to but recently i couldnt get a nut off exhaust manifold stud... used impact socket and it breaks them lose. Kind of a crazy science i would assne the chrome socket stretches and absorbs alot of the load. So beyond the fact of possible explosion the chrome doesnt seem to hit as hard.

      @@shauncry9310Same here, I sold my chrome sockets and switch everything to impact sockets. They make a difference

      me too and if I ever break them "I never impacted them Sirs" 😂
      but for real I only use the chromes on a low-torque rated wrench so I don't think it's hurting them, hasn't seemed to do damage to them yet.

      Tell me you cant afford the correct sockets without telling me you cant afford the correct sockets, they cheap as dirt on amazon, do yourself a favor

      @@escapetherace1943if for some reason it fractures and a piece chips off and flys into your eye, you’ll have a different outlook, ive split tons of chrome sockets when i was a rookie, and every time the safety of my eyeballs came to mind, chrome sockets do split and will, its just a matter of time,

    Impact sockets are often Cr-v. Especially the cheaper ones.

  • @VC-TV
    @VC-TV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    You are wrong in the video, impact sockets can either be made of cr-mo or cr-v, the metallurgical strength compared between the 2 is negligible, meaning both are about the same, difference is chrome sockets are hardened impact is left unhardend

    Can you do test on 12 vs 6 points wrench please? Im curious about the myth that 12pts will round the bolt head.

    • @badrulofficial
      @badrulofficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      12pts will make you struggle to fit at small place

    • @justarandomguy3969
      @justarandomguy3969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if it is on properly and the bolts is not rusted, then no it will not round the head, if the bolt is rusted i would definetly use a 6 point. the main problem with a 12point is the fact that you can put the socket at an angle much easier and without knowing it hence the reason that 12 points rounds way more often

  • @johnnylai3576
    @johnnylai3576 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does everybody know that why only regular socket has the notch or groove on four internal wall and impact socket not? Only see the impact socket with side hole for mating with detent pin(ball) of sq. drive.

    • @jonathangiardino1868
      @jonathangiardino1868 ปีที่แล้ว

      A detent that would fit into those groves wouldnt hold when used on an impact gun
