I feel like you don't actually hit rank 1 on Malzahar, you just stop other players from hitting rank 1 and are then forced into rank 1 as a result
You could say that you "suppress" the enemy from hitting rank 1.

I think malzahar actually has more value when people so build a qss. Imagine the enemy adc building a qss second item. It doesn’t matter if he is fed, he built that item to not get ulted but now you don’t have to ult him cuz he does no damage and you just ult other people on his team
I main Malz and you described exactly why the champ is so useful. Even in bad games, you are conditioning the rivals so much.

Also remember, using E and Q before W give you more voidlings when you W, which is good to push waves and take towers. Also, when taking towers, let cannon take aggro and then Q+W for extra voidlings.

Did you all catch how he visions the last minion and then recalls in the middle of the lane. This baits the enemy to stop the back and stay within range of the spread when the minion dies. 8:17

Malz E is such an abnoxsious spell. It auto spreads upon killing, great push, poke and damage. His ult is more of utility for locking than damage
Hello, the best counter to malhazar is nocturne : His first activation of R break malzahar shield, then he can all in, and shield his ult, if he doesn't manage to shield the ultimate the fear will automatically break malzahar ult after some seconds. Thank you for your videos i love it !!!!
I truly agree about Crown, the real OG's remember that he actually was one of the worlds first really insane Viktorplayer alongside Faker! Crown getting Viktor was basically a gg go next.
He was never the supercarry midlaner at Worlds as Faker or Rookie but ofc he deserves that Worlds title!

Few thoughts:
While he appears to not have major flaws to expose this match, his entire team was winning which can easily cover over flaws. Yes, it can also expose greedy or bloodthirsty players too.
To fight malz, you either play something that exploits extra gold income from his minions (tf, nasus, etc.) or you play something with waveclear that can't get 1-shot by malz alone.
I used to end up vs him a lot when he was meta a couple years back. People would bring him top, I'd clear his voidlings with renekton q, and run him out of mana while keeping him shoved in. Now he gets to spam voidlings too often to do that, but if you add in tiamat and have patience, I think it can still be done.

@@thebeesankle5024 yes it's no skill champ but with this champ u need to position perfectly. One wrong step and u are dead but for example with Katarina even if your position is bad u can escape. Malzahar actually harder to play in higher division than some skill champs.
@@vlada8467 I see your point but i disagree, the spell shield can save you often and with a champ like katarina the mechanics arn't easy and you still need to have good positioning.
On the crown thing, even corejj said in interviews that crown player malzahar because it was a champion where he didn’t have to play that well to be effective with because crown was borderline inting that worlds
14:8 in my opinion, Irelia is the best counter to Malz. She can use his voidlings to close the gap and all in him.
11:13 Viktor is pretty good into malz, you can cancel his R with your R. If you time it right, because of the .25 second cast time, you can even cancel it when he casts his R on you first.

As a gold-low plat malz 1 trick, I find fizz and Zed my hardest matchups.
Sometimes ziggs and velkoz are hard if the enemy jungler is smart.
Olaf is probably malzes biggest counter though. He doesnt even need to buy a qss and can 1v1 you no problem
how do you lose to fizz tho. after your first back you can just perma shove him and roam. he cant go in on you.

Major mistake actually happened a few seconds after ulting Shaco's clone.
In this situation always remember to do the mastery emote into dance spam combo.
I've always thought that Malz is hard to play, I don't know why, never played him
Malz ulti is down to just over 40 seconds with just luc boots and Lliandrys. and a 1 more item, at lvl 16. With cloud dragons and a cloud soul you can squeeze it down to just above 30 seconds.

Nocturne mid is a good counter for Malz since he can match his waveclear and his R removes malz passive spellshield

My experience, both kassadin and rumble are really strong malzahar counters. Kassa can play pretty aggro vs him and rumble can tank E damage and easily take shield down with q, also using r to keep Malza from ulting anyone

gonna be honest, whenever I play malz I'm always greedy for that double burn items. Will have to try without the second mask to see how well it does
2:28, you say its weird seeing utility mids hitting rank 1 but I think its precisely why they can hit rank 1. They can offer so much more to their team and if they have a consistent or scaling damage output you'll be able to contribute more than a zed who tried to assassinate the carry who has G.A. or stopwatch ready.
Frankly I believe Season 11 is mid diff.

The most fun i have playing leag is when i r someone with malz while emoting them, then watching them cry in chat on how braindead is malzahar. Ahh just thinking about it brings me joy
morello second/third is not that bad anymore this season, 2500 g for 80 ap, the extra mythic status and 60% GW in low health targets can help you score a lot more kills, specially with moonstone and shieldbow/goredrinker/BORK being builded as first items

To answer your question on who counters him in the milane role: tryndemere, rumble,qiyana, neeko, akali, zed at level 6 aand up, and yone.
Also the lowest i've gotten malzahar ult down in season 11 is 46 seconds

Malzahar is not easy to play. I played against a lot of Malzahar and 95% of them were really bad with the character. You really have to know the character and master all the mechanics to succeed in winning and climbing. You clearly have to be a genius to climb with Malzahar in 2021, he is also a very poor character in 1vs1.
I feel like malzahar is very strong but you need to be patient with him and alot of bad malzahar players are way too aggressive you just need to wait for the midgame to scale and you become op and malzahar can easily survive laning phase if played correctly (your passive helps you alot during the early game from dying to assassins etc)
I like ziggs vs malzahar cause I can keep up with his waveclear and bop his voidlings easily

Yasuo does well into Malzahar as long as you track the enemy Jungler. Yasuo always can contest the Push onto Malzahar.
"how well can you really play malzahar" i mean, theres 100s of thousands of malz mains but only one is rank 1 so i think he's definitely not as brain dead as you think
Abused the shit out of malzahar mid to last patch ended with like 80% winrate. Although i did play with a duo jungle and he played urgot. the idea was that once both hit lvl 6, i would ult midlane enemy and urgot would ult after for an easy picking and that should bring the enemy low enough for urgot to execute. and i did play like this challenger malz. just roam alot and ignore your enemy midlaner since you gonna outpush him after you get lost chapter. have yet to play against an anivia so i can't say for sure about that matchup but velkoz was one hella hard matchup.

I like Veigar against Malz, the voidlings help a lot with AP stacking
The thing I've noticed with this matchup is that veigar does have to play alot more defensively, his normal catch tool can be straight up ignored by malz if the shield hasn't dropped and malz can shove the wave while never getting close to veigar.
@@kevinhowe543 This is true, Malz is stronger early for sure and will always have prio, Veigar isn't much of a roamer though & will outscale Malz extra-early with the added opportunities to add stacks. Ludens rush will help knock his sheild using Q's - though I hate Ludens on Veigar generally. Something like Zyra, Syndra, Velkoz or Xerath would perhaps be a safer pick to poke from range with so long as minions & voidlings don't hamper your ability to harass him. He is tricky to counter as he seems to be anti-everything, Lol
Cho'Gath is probably a natural counter, having 2 abilities that can interrupt Malz's ult if buffered in time, his E & passive can also get extra sustain off voidlings from a distance
