I disagree, we all know that The Bell is the best 4 star weapon there is. It's so powerful that as of this version of the game, no one is powerful enough to wield it and access it's full power. Clearly, The Bell is one of the weapons of all time.
The passive actually work on any shields and it increase dmg to boot. When we get actual HP scaling claymore-user. this weapon might contender for BiS option
@@rizzttv7791 exactly, the game for some reason have weapons that NO characters can use 100% effectively when they release a claymore user that scales with HP and uses shielder this is will be a great weapon (one day this will happen xD)
It's an honorable mention, it means the top 10 is likely stacked with equal or better performing weapon and categorically feasible on multiple characters.
I think it's going to become even more valuable with Sumeru's release considering that EM is much more valuable. I don't know the calculations but it seems like a great 4 star option for Tighnari.
@@draspen Festering Desire too didn't even have a mention, even it's generally a great weapon. It's likely edged out by Favonious by sheer utility and availability. BiS and 5-star comparison are likely the priority in his criteria.
I feel like Amenoma Kageuchi should of been on the list (even on honorable mentions) since it’s versatile with the energy restoring passive, yet has an atk % substat so you aren’t losing too much on damage. Plus it is more universal than something like Whiteblind or Albedo’s weapon as you can slap it on to a lot of sword charas like Ayaka, Kaeya, Jean, and Ayato.
no not really. the only one it works well is ayaka. while ayaka is probably the best dps in the game as of now, the weapon still can't be put in the list if it only works on one character. furthermore, the difference between amenoma and her BIS mistsplitter is huge compared to some dps weapons on the list like the catch and dragon's bane, rust, blackcliff and cinnabar spindle, etc. so it really can't be compared those 4 star weapons.
@@oogwaythesussyturtle it works well not just Ayaka but also ayato, jean, and kaeya. Tho, ayato can only get 2 seeds in a full rotation, the 24 energy at r5 helps him a bit to have good uptime with the burst
The Watatsumi Wavewalker series (akouomaru, etc) definitely would make my personal top 10 list, but I can understand that it's a relatively unexplored weapon series since it's only been run on banners twice. I feel like if it was made available more commonly, a lot more players would really enjoy this set! My Beidou loves akuomaru, my Raiden loves wavebreaker's fin, and my Sara will swap between elegy and mouun's moon depending on her team's needs. Overall though, pretty solid list in the video.
@@OlBlO2l2lllZ not really, because even on a "low max energy" team, wich would be around 220-240 max, it still gives a LOT of bonus damage. On a weapon with decent base ATK, and ATK substat. And then when you actually use a high energy team, the damage bonus is INSANE. Often times higher than a r5 Serpent Spine with max stacks.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Anecdotal on the 'Fin - I gave my Wavebreaker's Fin to Xiangling, it's so competitive vs. PJWS (got from standard banner) it made me stop fishing for The Catch refinements. Granted I do not have Raiden, but I can just enable another polearm if needed be (Favonius, Lithic, or Deathmatch/Blackcliff if I have to purchase), even my PJWS is just sitting on Rosaria waiting for its opportunity, making my 'Fin a lock for XL.

It induce a high dose copium for people that doesn't know what they're doing and might potentially get mislead. Besides if you're using a High Energy cost team you're better off using Energy Recharge weapon.
@@OlBlO2l2lllZ Not necessarily about the ER. It could be on a character like Chong who has low energy cost, while the rest of the team have high energy cost. Or Beidou with just some subs into ER can deal with her energy pretty well if on a double electro team because of the electro ressonance.
I thought amenoma kageuchi was the best craftable weapon because of its great passive (especially at r5) and its good substat which partially offsets its bad base attack. It's even the best F2P 4 star option for Ayaka, Jean, and is solid on a few other DPS/Sub DPS Sword users as well like Kaeya, Ayato and even Geo Traveler.
How good it is is effected quite a lot by team comp. Example, Ayaka is almost always run with a second cryo sub dps or buffer. Many of them provide a fair amount of energy for Ayaka and running Fav weapons on them is also pretty common practice. What I am getting at is that the swords passive is often giving Ayaka energy she doesn't actually need. That means the passive is wasted. Her energy needs are over exaggerated. The best thing it has going for it is that it is craftable. Personally I'd rather use black cliff. If I'm going to have a situationally good passive I'd prefer a weapon with higher base attack and crit damage. If you are using Mona or Kokomi for your hydro you can just throw TTDS on them for extra atk%.
kagotsurube isshin is better for ayaka than amenoma kageuchi as it gives a lot more dmg, if your ayaka is properly built with enough em around 140-150 and a cryo battery (which you should be running) you will have no trouble having your burst uptime
Well, you're wrong. It is a great weapon but surely not the best. Like what the others have mentioned, you can solve their ER issue by using favonius weapon/s and depending on your team comp. E.g. Ayaka only needs 120%~ ER if you are using her with a cryo battery with either favonius weap or sacrificial bow on diona together with venti. If it is kazuha, you need around 140%~ ER. If you are using r5 AK together with abovementioned characters, ayaka doesn't need any ER. If you have 140% ER, you should rather use another weapon with a higher base and better passive to maximize her dps.
Another Favonius enjoyer! Its insane how much value you get out of them, especially on any utility support where you can turn them into a makeshift battery and decrease team ER requirements so much. Honestly, I would trade half of my 5 star weapons for unlimited r5 fav weapons if I could, they are that good.
I'm surprised the Festering Desire doesn't even make it into the honorable mention. I would rather it be number 3 than the Cinnabar Spindle, since the Cinnabar can only be used for Albedo.
Thing about cinnabar is its literally albedos BIS beating r5 5star weapons and hes arguable the most universal geo character . No other 4star is close to being a characters BIS let alone against r5 5star weapons. Imo it should probably be n2 just because it completed albedos kit
Although it is a great weapon, Festering Desire doesnt really fit most sword users. I would argue that Jean can make use of it best, but she doesnt do real damage even with it... Sword characters with strong Skills dont really want an ER substat weapon, and characters who want an ER substat dont have strong Skills.
@@franciscopetrucci DPS Bennet with chongyun would be best user. Chongyun's E reduces cooldowns and adds cryo AA, benny's Q reduces his E cd by 50%. You end up with spammable tap E's under the 2 second mark, and they can be melted every time. Add a kazuha/sucrose in there and you'll be hitting 100k+ tap E's with benny. Festering desire directly boosts bennett's E damage and crit rate, and the energy recharge on wep allows you to focus benny's gear on crit rate/crit damage/EM
I’d say Prototype Amber deserve an honorable mention. Turning your support catalyst into healer, allowing you to run more offensive supports in two other flex slots, is valuable enough. Shield bot Yanfei, support Mona in freeze, support Lisa, vv Heizou and Sucrose - amazing users for Prototype Amber. It’s also amazing on actual healers like Kokomi and Barbara, especially when using Ocean-Hued Clam set. Yes, it’s less valuable because TToDS exists and provides insane buff to your dps, but in some cases I’d say Prototype Amber worth the trade off
My Ningguang makes the best use of it while still wrecking absolute havoc with her burst damage. Her 40 cost energy basically guarantees that with the effect from Prototype Amber and a single E-skill, it's back up instantly and ready to heal even more. Plus it helps mitigate the fact she's paper thin in the defense department.
@@SeraphimDragon i would say try employing a defence support unit in your team like bennet and diona and give ningguang the more offensive options like the widsith and maybe you will find it even more comfortable using her. You can focus more on maximizing your dps without sacrificing your weapon stats. Bennet is good on every team but if you need him for other teams then diona with 2 cryo comp is also a great team comp
Yeaaah kinda-ish if and only if you are using Kokomi or Barbara with Clam as on field driver for reactions. TToDS is just better option for everything else now, because we don't have enough main dps'es that scales from something else than ATK, so TToDS is just too valuable. And shields just wins over heals anyway, because they prevent interruption. Also freeze teams don't particularly need healer, because u cc everyone. Also if you don't have Shenhe for a second cryo unit, theres Diona, that gives shields, heals, buffs.. xD
I'm surprised that one particular gacha weapon series isn't mentioned here: namely akuoumaru, mouun's moon, wavebreaker fin; being also somewhat competitive especially at higher refinements.
Sadly it's a limited weapon, and compared to Lithic series, the conditions can be easily met by having the correct team comps. In Watatsumi series case, the conditions might prove difficult if you're aiming for maximum efficiency by having characters that have high energy cost bursts.
I wish this video had an honorable mentions section which included the inazuma series 4 stars Akoumaru, Mounns Moon and Wavebreaker Fin. On the right characters, these weapon can rival 5 stars. Also the festering desire and anemona kageuchi could be in this section.
@@Kastor774 Wavebreaker at R3 and higher has higher DPS than the catch. But it comes with the downside of having lesser ER on Raiden which means she gives less energy back to the rest of the team
As an Albedo enjoyer (triple crowned now) I was so sad that I missed his weapon. I quit around Mihoyo’s first anniversary and rejoined in 2.7. I really hope that there’s someway to get it again in the future… I’m stuck with my festering desire for now. 😭

Oh noes... not festering :C Use harbinger of dawn. I'd venture to say it's Albedo's best weapon until you can manage to get godly artifacts. Only then will cinnabar spindle be BiS. Harbinger of dawn is an insane stat stick and the only downside is its low base attack, which albedo does not care for unless you play him hybrid
I feel like the wave breaker's fin, akumaruo and the moune's moon could've been in this list. Wave breaker's fin is probably the best option if u r using rational and either raiden or xiangling is using the catch. Also the akoumaruo is great for beidou and eula. The moune's moon out dps the amos bow on a freeze team. But these weapons are somewhat new, so it makes sense ig
Eula literally have a snow-tombed starsilver which is completely free. Running her with Akuoumaru is fine but Eula's damage is also depends on her auto attack so even though Akuoumaru has a bigger burst damage potential, I'd say snow-tombed starsilver is a bit better

Then I am pretty sure r1 akumaruo is still better than r1 snow tombed and if I have to refine, U sure snow tombed is the best weapon to refine? 🤔 but everyone has their preference ig. Also the akoumaruo performs great on chongyun and every character that's gonna depend on their burst. The other 2 weapon from the same series are also good for a lot of characters that's why I thought it should've been on the top 10.
@@cyber_wiz The Watatsumi Wavewalker series is great overall. Yes, Akuoumaru is far more versatile than Starsilver and Beidou with Akuoumaru and 4 set emblem is a menace but for Eula specifically, I still found R1 Starsilver is better since Eula's damage also come from her auto

Just a heads up, these aren't really very good general weapons. Most of these are very specific to certain characters, and he's placed them on this list because they're great on those characters, but bad on everyone else.

I think there is one more craftable weapon that should be on this list, The Amenoma Kageuchi sword, not only is a great atack stick for the character, but it's recharge passive largely alleviate the pressure on getting ER on lots of characters, and works great in many ones like Kamisato Ayaka and Ayato, Kaeya, Traveler and I use mine on Jean were is very easy to get 80% of her ult back almost instantly when I cast it, basicaly any sword user that have a lot time cool down on skill can benefit from it, I with they had done the great sword with ATK% substat like this instead of ER, it would be more usefull.
I think festering desire beats cinnabar spindal and I definitely think stringless beats it. CS is a good weapon to 1 character. Regardless if its their BIS I dont think its enough to boost its rank so high. It a little weird to not just clump all bane weapons together rather than just ranking Dragons bane solo. Love the lithic series as a concept
I personally think that amenona kageuchi should be there, even in the honorable metions, even it is less "valuable" than other options, it is a great weapon to start with any sword dps. You can always give it to other characters when you have a better weapon
If you care about openworld experience, a full team with Favonius weapons can give you the the ultimate joy. Since you never need to reach the max damage potential in openworld, having unlimited energy is just fun. And since you will build crit for the weapons to proc, plus most characters will build crit anyways, your damage will be more then enough since a crit hit will hit harder anyways.
the only addition id like to make is to include Amenoma Kageuchi and the Festering Desire. both are very good swords usable on many characters im surprised it didnt make your list. great vid nonetheless :)
I only recently got my first copy of Rust even though I've been playing since 1.0 with battle pass + welkin + several hundred in top ups as well. The RNG gods are mysterious sometimes.

Agreed. Yes, Whiteblind is good on Itto and Noelle. But in the case of Noelle especially, you need so much dang ER to get her burst off cooldown, that it is difficult to farm artifacts to meet her ER needs without continuously funneling particles to her. Amenoma is good on quite a few more characters than Whiteblind, though its theoretical power is lower. In practice though, especially on Ayaka, its nice to not have to spend months and months trying to get a 4pc Blizz strayer that has the right amount of CD, atk AND ER (or have to settle for an ER sands on her as I do with my mistsplitter).
Yeah. It’s super good on Ayaka as through my experience, it is only marginally lower to blackcliff in terms of damage, yet provides a lot of utility, giving me energy for her energy hungry burst. Heck the extra energy I get allows me to run Ayaka at a lower ER at 115% at R5 and invest in either atk% or crit damage substats on my artifacts, sort of making up for the difference in Blackcliff and Amenoma.

I'm surprised that amenoma isn't on the list considering whiteblind and cinnabar spindle make into the list. Compared to favo/sacri sword, amenoma might be a little bit below them in terms of functionality, but the fact than no one use whiteblind and cinabar spindle (except those with def scalling) are making to the list is kinda biased... since not everybody have itto and albedo... and non C6 noelle is meh if you go full def on her...
i agree with your list although another honorable mention should be Amenoma Kageuchi sword, one of the best F2P craftable sword for Ayaka, Ayato and Keqing
Amenoma is bad for keqing. The weapon has lower damag than most others but its is good on ayaka and ayato due to their high cost burst. Keqing has a spammable burst and no energy issue, you'd be much better off using something with more dps like lion roar, or it you lack it then kazuha's story sword is still better
Great list! But the Watatsumi Wavewalker series really should have been here, especially Akuoumaru (Beidou, Eula, Chong, etc) The amount of bonus damage it gives (on an ATK substat, no less!) is actually nuts. Do not think it isnt worth it on low max energy teams, its still at LEAST 40% bonus on most cases.
the watatsumi wavewalker weapons rn also should be up there i believe. the polearm, the wavebreaker fin at r5 it can do same burst damage as r1 homa on xiangling. the bow, the mouuns moon, can do same burst damage as a r1 thundering pulse on childe (way better than stringless). the claymore also at r5 is really close to r1 song of broken pines for eula
i tested out the wavebreaker’s fin r5 on raiden and it did more damage than my r1 engulfing lightning did i also tested out r5 akoumaru on eula and it did a lot more damage than my r1 sobp 💀 their passives are just broken at r5.
The "predator" on paper sounds like an insane dps stat stick for ganyu for boosting attack and cryo damage for cryo effected enemies but In practice the ability only being able to be use on a 400 to 500 dollar console that most people won't buy makes the weapon suck

Widsith is really good, but it'sbiggest drawback is that it is so powerful. Majority of catayst users are actually balanced according to Widsith, meaning that we will never see a catalyst user that has as high scaling as Eula or Ayaka. Because with such a high scaling, and extremely powerful buff Widsith provides, that character could one shot anything on it's own, without any supports.
@@vukkicos5688 Ayaka and Raiden infuse, they're capable of dealing physical damage. For that reason Ayaka's basic attacks have low damage scaling while Raiden's burst overwrites her basic attacks, counting as burst damage. As for Yelan, I don't know what you're talking about, her kit doesn't even have infusion.
I would have classed cinnabar spinndle below widsith as despite behind an op weapon and being given free. It only works on one character so for its issue of niche usability it would be fair. Or else great video. Also honourable mention for festering desire for being great for bennet as it has a good base atk plus er as well
Favonius Series is just the best set of weapons in the game and almost every character can use it. And the best weapon for doing a solo run and coop. Amenoma Kageuchi could also be considered as honorable mention. One of the best F2P option for most sword character. Kaeya, Keqing, Ayato, Ayaka, Jean, and Qiqi benefits from this weapon's passive.
Qiqi doesn't really benefit. Her elemental skill's cooldown is so long, she can't build up the stacks to make it worthwhile. She heals so much she also doesn't need that atk% either. She's far better off with a Sacrificial Sword.
@@Axterix13 I think Qiqi still benefits from the passive since her Burst has high energy requirement. Ofcourse, Sacrificial Sword is still better for Qiqi, no question there, but Amenoma still works for her though. And Qiqi's healing scales off Atk so additional healing for her would still matter. And yes, she can't stack it fast enough but it wasn't really necessary to always Burst immediately with Qiqi though. Her Burst is meant to be more of a back up healing since her skill heals fast enough. Furthermore, if you aren't running a Cryo battery, Qiqi can't generate her Burst fast enough even with Sacrificial Sword, an additional energy generation method for her would be beneficial. But I highly doubt anyone really puts Qiqi in their team to care enough to try Amenoma on her.

What I learned from this video: There is no Sacrificial Polearm. Seriously, I've been playing since Day 1 and I didn't even realize, mostly because I don't use that many polearm characters, only Raiden and Xiangling and those have way better options, so I didn't notice the Sac Spear was missing
Fun fact: The Widsith is the only 4 star weapon with a crit stat that can be obtainable through gacha the rest of the crit 4 stars must be obtained through eirher battlepass or the shop
Sacrificial polearm is not made for the sole reason polearm use have heavier hitting skill and thus having a cd reset weapon would break it (and it make polearm different from sword)

You litterally forgot two of the best Weaponseries in the Game. Wavewalker Set that boosts your Burst DMG by how much Energy Cost your Teams Ult has and the most broken Set in the Game, the Lythic Series. Esspecially on Refinements these Weapons in the right Teams outperform most 5 Star Weapons in the Game
Speed energy recharge from favonius series is a blessing uwu The only concern when slapping favonius on character is that players suggest to focus on crit rate to gain better consistency in energy recharge Means even diona as a healer is better to have about 50% crit rate to maximize the potential of favonius warbow This is just a suggestion from me according to my experience using favonius series for a long time
Not really. My Diona is around 15%cr with the fav bow, and she manages to generate the particles each time. Kazuha for example with fav sword is good with 20% crit rate.
My yunjin at 15% crit also manage to generate particles but comparing to my xiangling and diona which is at 50 crit rate, yunjin does not trigger the particle as often as them So what I suggest is, in order to maximize the potential of favonius series, you can focus on more crit rate for better particles generation
I've got my first Rust when I was pulling for Primordial Jade Cutter this year. So I've got my Thundering Pulse on Childe before I could get my first Rust. Now it is only Refinement 2. So my Tartaglia will continue to wield Yoimiya's bow for a very long time...
It would've been worthwhile if you included a small section in the video for the top 3 star weapons. Some of them are quite notable and deserve the spotlight too.
Nice list but i disagreed with a lot of what you have said, you did not mention Hakushin RIng or Amenoma Kageuchi, they are craftable weapons and offer great utility to the characters and team they are used in. the Hakushin RIng is BiS for Sucrose taser, barbara taser and offer a lot of value for the team. Amenoma Kageuchi is very versatile and helps with restoring energy and it's the 4 star BiS for Ayaka (one of the strongest dps character), it's also not limited to Ayaka since you can use it on Kaeya, Jean and Ayato with no problems. Also surprised about no mention of the watatsumi wavewalkers series, especially the wavebreakers fin. for XIangling, Rosaria and Raiden, it sheets better and does more damage but i understand that it has caveats as being one of the limited banner weapons. Also it felt weird not at least including the stringless, Hamayumi or the Alley series. Only thing i major disagree with is the blackcliff series and the cinnabar spindle, too many wishes to effectively get to r5 and while being solid on most characters, other 4 star weapons can perform better. And Cinnabar Spindle is good for Albedo but it's biggest weakness is that it's made for Albedo. No other character can effectively use it well and it drives down the value of the sword a bit.
for the people who don’t have aquila favonia (like myself) the prototype rancour is an amazing substitute and i feel like it should be an honorable mention
it'd be actually nice to see a video about 3* tho. It took me so long to for example realise how good support weapon ttds is, and i'm sure there's much more people like me who didn't even considered running 3* weapons before. are there any other good ones, even very situational ones? they're quite cheap to build, easy to get to R5 so i think it might be still worth to talk about them
I was soured on the Favonius set because my first one was the Greatsword. With its low base attack, I felt extremely strugglebus on claymore characters. When I finally got a proper attack 4* weapon, a lvl 40 weapon was taking down mobs faster than my lvl 70 Favonius Greatsword.
Honestly I think that sac sword is the best. The sex or literally works on anyone and it has better RNG favonius cuz you need to crit and then crack the weapon passive. Versus the sex or do you only need one RNG and depending on the character they're still might be stronger the second time. This can allow you to run four a piece tenacity characters like xinqu.
I'm confused why the cinnabar sword is even mentioned like it's an event limited sword with def stats and passive that works only for a limited banner 5star, meanwhile amenoma works very well for many characters smh
Mr. To Lose. There is a place for the Sword of Descension. September 2020 and Traveler is unironically your dps at AR7. The same advice would apply for the Predator, but most people got Aloy and it waaaaay later on. They're technically 4* weapons in the same way Traveler and Aloy are technically 5* characters.
The error you made with the catch was that you wanted to upgrade the catch as fast as possible. I got the catch and just every now and then refined it, it took more time, but I kept my sanity👌
IMO: 1/2) Favonius Polearm, Bow, Sword; Sacrificial Catalyst, Bow, Sword; as supports rotate less than carries and dps increases don't matter as much for support as funneling energy does. 3/4/5/6/7/8/9) "The Catch"; Dodoco Tales; Cinnabar Spindle; Festering Desire; Whiteblind; Iron Sting; Prototype Amber; as these free quest, event, and craftable weapons are easy to get and provide good dps/support value. 10) Serpent Spine, Solar Pearl, Deathmatch, The Viridescent Hunt; as the battle pass is the second most efficient money sink in Genshin (behind Welkin Moon), and doing so will inevitably end up with these weapons over a decent timespan. There are other useful byproducts of rolling in the wish banners, but they don't make my top 10, as I wouldn't roll for them specifically i.e. The Widsith, The Stringless, Rust, Dragon's Bane, etc.
Best four star weapons (not in order): -The Catch -Favonius weapons -Sacrificial weapons -The Widsth -Amenoma Kageuchi -Bp weapons -Prototype Archaic and Rancour -the fish claymore, those watatsumi weapons, Festering Desire I don’t have all of these so can’t be certain but i figure it’s a decent list
6:42 I have two R5 Rust Bows, one at lv70, one at 90 ^^ I never needed both rusts simultaneously, but still wanted to have two of them in case I'd want to use both xD
I guess Crescent Pike just got forgotten because the meta shifted to Burst rotation. This weapon carried me for the first 10 months of the game with Xiangling, as she served as my main DPS for so long. Once I obtained Raiden, the Crescent Pike got shifted around to the point it now sits on the bench. It doesn't help I acquired three 5 star polearms and The Catch in a relatively short amount of time span. For reference, I only have 1 other 5 star weapon, and it's a bow. I'm still a firm believer that the craftable 4 star weapons are great for free to play players and those just starting out, but fall off after the players have done enough wishes. Not all 4 star weapons are created equal. Is there a chance for a video on the most worthless 3 stars/4 stars, so that even beginners can avoid them? And maybe a similar or in the same video, 3 stars to keep/upgrade?

Genuinely surprised "The Stringless" isn't on the list. It's legit the BiS for Venti (personal damage-wise) and can be utilized by many characters.
It's an honorable mention, it means the top 10 is likely stacked with equal or better performing weapon and categorically feasible on multiple characters.
I think it's going to become even more valuable with Sumeru's release considering that EM is much more valuable. I don't know the calculations but it seems like a great 4 star option for Tighnari.

@@draspen Festering Desire too didn't even have a mention, even it's generally a great weapon. It's likely edged out by Favonious by sheer utility and availability. BiS and 5-star comparison are likely the priority in his criteria.
I feel like Amenoma Kageuchi should of been on the list (even on honorable mentions) since it’s versatile with the energy restoring passive, yet has an atk % substat so you aren’t losing too much on damage. Plus it is more universal than something like Whiteblind or Albedo’s weapon as you can slap it on to a lot of sword charas like Ayaka, Kaeya, Jean, and Ayato.

no not really. the only one it works well is ayaka. while ayaka is probably the best dps in the game as of now, the weapon still can't be put in the list if it only works on one character. furthermore, the difference between amenoma and her BIS mistsplitter is huge compared to some dps weapons on the list like the catch and dragon's bane, rust, blackcliff and cinnabar spindle, etc. so it really can't be compared those 4 star weapons.

The Watatsumi Wavewalker series (akouomaru, etc) definitely would make my personal top 10 list, but I can understand that it's a relatively unexplored weapon series since it's only been run on banners twice. I feel like if it was made available more commonly, a lot more players would really enjoy this set! My Beidou loves akuomaru, my Raiden loves wavebreaker's fin, and my Sara will swap between elegy and mouun's moon depending on her team's needs.
Overall though, pretty solid list in the video.
One thing that really hurts that series of weapons are their passive having condition/ Requirement to make it worth it.
@@OlBlO2l2lllZ not really, because even on a "low max energy" team, wich would be around 220-240 max, it still gives a LOT of bonus damage. On a weapon with decent base ATK, and ATK substat.
And then when you actually use a high energy team, the damage bonus is INSANE. Often times higher than a r5 Serpent Spine with max stacks.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Anecdotal on the 'Fin - I gave my Wavebreaker's Fin to Xiangling, it's so competitive vs. PJWS (got from standard banner) it made me stop fishing for The Catch refinements. Granted I do not have Raiden, but I can just enable another polearm if needed be (Favonius, Lithic, or Deathmatch/Blackcliff if I have to purchase), even my PJWS is just sitting on Rosaria waiting for its opportunity, making my 'Fin a lock for XL.

Besides if you're using a High Energy cost team you're better off using Energy Recharge weapon.

Or Beidou with just some subs into ER can deal with her energy pretty well if on a double electro team because of the electro ressonance.
I thought amenoma kageuchi was the best craftable weapon because of its great passive (especially at r5) and its good substat which partially offsets its bad base attack. It's even the best F2P 4 star option for Ayaka, Jean, and is solid on a few other DPS/Sub DPS Sword users as well like Kaeya, Ayato and even Geo Traveler.
How good it is is effected quite a lot by team comp. Example, Ayaka is almost always run with a second cryo sub dps or buffer. Many of them provide a fair amount of energy for Ayaka and running Fav weapons on them is also pretty common practice. What I am getting at is that the swords passive is often giving Ayaka energy she doesn't actually need. That means the passive is wasted. Her energy needs are over exaggerated.
The best thing it has going for it is that it is craftable. Personally I'd rather use black cliff. If I'm going to have a situationally good passive I'd prefer a weapon with higher base attack and crit damage. If you are using Mona or Kokomi for your hydro you can just throw TTDS on them for extra atk%.
kagotsurube isshin is better for ayaka than amenoma kageuchi as it gives a lot more dmg, if your ayaka is properly built with enough em around 140-150 and a cryo battery (which you should be running) you will have no trouble having your burst uptime
Well, you're wrong. It is a great weapon but surely not the best. Like what the others have mentioned, you can solve their ER issue by using favonius weapon/s and depending on your team comp. E.g. Ayaka only needs 120%~ ER if you are using her with a cryo battery with either favonius weap or sacrificial bow on diona together with venti. If it is kazuha, you need around 140%~ ER. If you are using r5 AK together with abovementioned characters, ayaka doesn't need any ER. If you have 140% ER, you should rather use another weapon with a higher base and better passive to maximize her dps.
The best 4 star weapon is arguable but I'm quite fond of running it with Jean since she needs a lot of atk% as well as er

Another Favonius enjoyer! Its insane how much value you get out of them, especially on any utility support where you can turn them into a makeshift battery and decrease team ER requirements so much. Honestly, I would trade half of my 5 star weapons for unlimited r5 fav weapons if I could, they are that good.

Thing about cinnabar is its literally albedos BIS beating r5 5star weapons and hes arguable the most universal geo character . No other 4star is close to being a characters BIS let alone against r5 5star weapons. Imo it should probably be n2 just because it completed albedos kit

Sword characters with strong Skills dont really want an ER substat weapon, and characters who want an ER substat dont have strong Skills.

@@franciscopetrucci DPS Bennet with chongyun would be best user. Chongyun's E reduces cooldowns and adds cryo AA, benny's Q reduces his E cd by 50%. You end up with spammable tap E's under the 2 second mark, and they can be melted every time. Add a kazuha/sucrose in there and you'll be hitting 100k+ tap E's with benny. Festering desire directly boosts bennett's E damage and crit rate, and the energy recharge on wep allows you to focus benny's gear on crit rate/crit damage/EM
I built my Geo Traveler with it once it worked pretty well too
I’d say Prototype Amber deserve an honorable mention. Turning your support catalyst into healer, allowing you to run more offensive supports in two other flex slots, is valuable enough. Shield bot Yanfei, support Mona in freeze, support Lisa, vv Heizou and Sucrose - amazing users for Prototype Amber. It’s also amazing on actual healers like Kokomi and Barbara, especially when using Ocean-Hued Clam set.
Yes, it’s less valuable because TToDS exists and provides insane buff to your dps, but in some cases I’d say Prototype Amber worth the trade off
My Ningguang makes the best use of it while still wrecking absolute havoc with her burst damage. Her 40 cost energy basically guarantees that with the effect from Prototype Amber and a single E-skill, it's back up instantly and ready to heal even more. Plus it helps mitigate the fact she's paper thin in the defense department.
@@SeraphimDragon i would say try employing a defence support unit in your team like bennet and diona and give ningguang the more offensive options like the widsith and maybe you will find it even more comfortable using her. You can focus more on maximizing your dps without sacrificing your weapon stats. Bennet is good on every team but if you need him for other teams then diona with 2 cryo comp is also a great team comp

Yeaaah kinda-ish if and only if you are using Kokomi or Barbara with Clam as on field driver for reactions. TToDS is just better option for everything else now, because we don't have enough main dps'es that scales from something else than ATK, so TToDS is just too valuable. And shields just wins over heals anyway, because they prevent interruption. Also freeze teams don't particularly need healer, because u cc everyone. Also if you don't have Shenhe for a second cryo unit, theres Diona, that gives shields, heals, buffs.. xD
I'm surprised that one particular gacha weapon series isn't mentioned here: namely akuoumaru, mouun's moon, wavebreaker fin; being also somewhat competitive especially at higher refinements.

Sadly it's a limited weapon, and compared to Lithic series, the conditions can be easily met by having the correct team comps. In Watatsumi series case, the conditions might prove difficult if you're aiming for maximum efficiency by having characters that have high energy cost bursts.
Especially the fin, its busted on xiangling and only gets better with refinements
Higher refienements of that series polearm does more damage than c0 staff of Homa with the right team composition.
The Favonius polearm actually aligns with Rosarias skill cooldown so that every skill crit from her trigger particles

I have Wavebreaker r4 and it's better than the Catch on my Raiden.
@@Kastor774 Wavebreaker at R3 and higher has higher DPS than the catch. But it comes with the downside of having lesser ER on Raiden which means she gives less energy back to the rest of the team
As an Albedo enjoyer (triple crowned now) I was so sad that I missed his weapon. I quit around Mihoyo’s first anniversary and rejoined in 2.7. I really hope that there’s someway to get it again in the future… I’m stuck with my festering desire for now. 😭

Use harbinger of dawn. I'd venture to say it's Albedo's best weapon until you can manage to get godly artifacts. Only then will cinnabar spindle be BiS. Harbinger of dawn is an insane stat stick and the only downside is its low base attack, which albedo does not care for unless you play him hybrid
For the record, I have cinnabar spindle but still use harbinger of dawn because I haven't been lucky with crit rate/crit damage rolls

I feel like the wave breaker's fin, akumaruo and the moune's moon could've been in this list. Wave breaker's fin is probably the best option if u r using rational and either raiden or xiangling is using the catch. Also the akoumaruo is great for beidou and eula. The moune's moon out dps the amos bow on a freeze team. But these weapons are somewhat new, so it makes sense ig

Eula literally have a snow-tombed starsilver which is completely free. Running her with Akuoumaru is fine but Eula's damage is also depends on her auto attack so even though Akuoumaru has a bigger burst damage potential, I'd say snow-tombed starsilver is a bit better

Just a heads up, these aren't really very good general weapons. Most of these are very specific to certain characters, and he's placed them on this list because they're great on those characters, but bad on everyone else.

I think there is one more craftable weapon that should be on this list, The Amenoma Kageuchi sword, not only is a great atack stick for the character, but it's recharge passive largely alleviate the pressure on getting ER on lots of characters, and works great in many ones like Kamisato Ayaka and Ayato, Kaeya, Traveler and I use mine on Jean were is very easy to get 80% of her ult back almost instantly when I cast it, basicaly any sword user that have a lot time cool down on skill can benefit from it, I with they had done the great sword with ATK% substat like this instead of ER, it would be more usefull.

I think festering desire beats cinnabar spindal and I definitely think stringless beats it. CS is a good weapon to 1 character. Regardless if its their BIS I dont think its enough to boost its rank so high. It a little weird to not just clump all bane weapons together rather than just ranking Dragons bane solo. Love the lithic series as a concept
The Watatsumi Wavewalker series is a great series of weapon for off field sub dps that needs a lot of energy recharge and can do a lot of damage
I personally think that amenona kageuchi should be there, even in the honorable metions, even it is less "valuable" than other options, it is a great weapon to start with any sword dps. You can always give it to other characters when you have a better weapon
Wavewalker and hamayumi deserve special mentions too. Hamayumi is so versatile on anyone
If you care about openworld experience, a full team with Favonius weapons can give you the the ultimate joy. Since you never need to reach the max damage potential in openworld, having unlimited energy is just fun.
And since you will build crit for the weapons to proc, plus most characters will build crit anyways, your damage will be more then enough since a crit hit will hit harder anyways.
the only addition id like to make is to include Amenoma Kageuchi and the Festering Desire. both are very good swords usable on many characters im surprised it didnt make your list. great vid nonetheless :)

I only recently got my first copy of Rust even though I've been playing since 1.0 with battle pass + welkin + several hundred in top ups as well. The RNG gods are mysterious sometimes.

Agreed. Yes, Whiteblind is good on Itto and Noelle. But in the case of Noelle especially, you need so much dang ER to get her burst off cooldown, that it is difficult to farm artifacts to meet her ER needs without continuously funneling particles to her.
Amenoma is good on quite a few more characters than Whiteblind, though its theoretical power is lower. In practice though, especially on Ayaka, its nice to not have to spend months and months trying to get a 4pc Blizz strayer that has the right amount of CD, atk AND ER (or have to settle for an ER sands on her as I do with my mistsplitter).
Yeah. It’s super good on Ayaka as through my experience, it is only marginally lower to blackcliff in terms of damage, yet provides a lot of utility, giving me energy for her energy hungry burst. Heck the extra energy I get allows me to run Ayaka at a lower ER at 115% at R5 and invest in either atk% or crit damage substats on my artifacts, sort of making up for the difference in Blackcliff and Amenoma.

I'm surprised that amenoma isn't on the list considering whiteblind and cinnabar spindle make into the list. Compared to favo/sacri sword, amenoma might be a little bit below them in terms of functionality, but the fact than no one use whiteblind and cinabar spindle (except those with def scalling) are making to the list is kinda biased... since not everybody have itto and albedo... and non C6 noelle is meh if you go full def on her...
How about Amenoma Hageuchi? That weapon has ATK% Stat and helps you with energy due to its passive.
It has a very low base attack though. So you do lose out on quite a lot of damage.

Amenoma is bad for keqing. The weapon has lower damag than most others but its is good on ayaka and ayato due to their high cost burst. Keqing has a spammable burst and no energy issue, you'd be much better off using something with more dps like lion roar, or it you lack it then kazuha's story sword is still better

The amount of bonus damage it gives (on an ATK substat, no less!) is actually nuts.
Do not think it isnt worth it on low max energy teams, its still at LEAST 40% bonus on most cases.

the watatsumi wavewalker weapons rn also should be up there i believe. the polearm, the wavebreaker fin at r5 it can do same burst damage as r1 homa on xiangling. the bow, the mouuns moon, can do same burst damage as a r1 thundering pulse on childe (way better than stringless). the claymore also at r5 is really close to r1 song of broken pines for eula
i tested out the wavebreaker’s fin r5 on raiden and it did more damage than my r1 engulfing lightning did
i also tested out r5 akoumaru on eula and it did a lot more damage than my r1 sobp 💀 their passives are just broken at r5.
Actually , Favonius series are not for supports only . It is also good for DPS characters . You can play single character without teammates .
The "predator" on paper sounds like an insane dps stat stick for ganyu for boosting attack and cryo damage for cryo effected enemies but In practice the ability only being able to be use on a 400 to 500 dollar console that most people won't buy makes the weapon suck

Widsith is really good, but it'sbiggest drawback is that it is so powerful.
Majority of catayst users are actually balanced according to Widsith, meaning that we will never see a catalyst user that has as high scaling as Eula or Ayaka. Because with such a high scaling, and extremely powerful buff Widsith provides, that character could one shot anything on it's own, without any supports.
Catalyst users have mostly low scaling because they deal elemental damage only, which, multiplied by reactions, would leave no contesters.
@@4RedJohn Ayaka Also deal only elemental damage. Yelan and Raiden too. That is no excuse.
@@vukkicos5688 Ayaka and Raiden infuse, they're capable of dealing physical damage. For that reason Ayaka's basic attacks have low damage scaling while Raiden's burst overwrites her basic attacks, counting as burst damage. As for Yelan, I don't know what you're talking about, her kit doesn't even have infusion.
I would have classed cinnabar spinndle below widsith as despite behind an op weapon and being given free. It only works on one character so for its issue of niche usability it would be fair.

Favonius Series is just the best set of weapons in the game and almost every character can use it. And the best weapon for doing a solo run and coop.
Amenoma Kageuchi could also be considered as honorable mention. One of the best F2P option for most sword character. Kaeya, Keqing, Ayato, Ayaka, Jean, and Qiqi benefits from this weapon's passive.
Qiqi doesn't really benefit. Her elemental skill's cooldown is so long, she can't build up the stacks to make it worthwhile. She heals so much she also doesn't need that atk% either. She's far better off with a Sacrificial Sword.
@@Axterix13 I think Qiqi still benefits from the passive since her Burst has high energy requirement. Ofcourse, Sacrificial Sword is still better for Qiqi, no question there, but Amenoma still works for her though. And Qiqi's healing scales off Atk so additional healing for her would still matter. And yes, she can't stack it fast enough but it wasn't really necessary to always Burst immediately with Qiqi though. Her Burst is meant to be more of a back up healing since her skill heals fast enough. Furthermore, if you aren't running a Cryo battery, Qiqi can't generate her Burst fast enough even with Sacrificial Sword, an additional energy generation method for her would be beneficial. Seriously, I've been playing since Day 1 and I didn't even realize, mostly because I don't use that many polearm characters, only Raiden and Xiangling and those have way better options, so I didn't notice the Sac Spear was missing

R5 rust- used to use it on Childe, then I got Polar Star so Rust is now what Yoimiya uses to 36 star abyss

Sacrificial polearm is not made for the sole reason polearm use have heavier hitting skill and thus having a cd reset weapon would break it (and it make polearm different from sword)

Been playing the game for a year now have been a yoimiya main since I got her as my first featured 5 star and have no rusts ;( will be pulling for her weapon on her rerun

The two top spots on this list were obvious beforehand. It is insane how strong the Catch is and how well the Favonius series holds up to this day.
You litterally forgot two of the best Weaponseries in the Game. Wavewalker Set that boosts your Burst DMG by how much Energy Cost your Teams Ult has and the most broken Set in the Game, the Lythic Series. Esspecially on Refinements these Weapons in the right Teams outperform most 5 Star Weapons in the Game
Speed energy recharge from favonius series is a blessing uwu
The only concern when slapping favonius on character is that players suggest to focus on crit rate to gain better consistency in energy recharge
Means even diona as a healer is better to have about 50% crit rate to maximize the potential of favonius warbow
This is just a suggestion from me according to my experience using favonius series for a long time
Not really. My Diona is around 15%cr with the fav bow, and she manages to generate the particles each time. Kazuha for example with fav sword is good with 20% crit rate.
Diona doesn't heavily need crit rate imo because her paws hit multiple times, so she has multiple chances to crit.
My yunjin at 15% crit also manage to generate particles but comparing to my xiangling and diona which is at 50 crit rate, yunjin does not trigger the particle as often as them
So what I suggest is, in order to maximize the potential of favonius series, you can focus on more crit rate for better particles generation

I've got my first Rust when I was pulling for Primordial Jade Cutter this year. So I've got my Thundering Pulse on Childe before I could get my first Rust. Now it is only Refinement 2. So my Tartaglia will continue to wield Yoimiya's bow for a very long time...
It would've been worthwhile if you included a small section in the video for the top 3 star weapons. Some of them are quite notable and deserve the spotlight too.

Nice list but i disagreed with a lot of what you have said, you did not mention Hakushin RIng or Amenoma Kageuchi, they are craftable weapons and offer great utility to the characters and team they are used in. the Hakushin RIng is BiS for Sucrose taser, barbara taser and offer a lot of value for the team. Amenoma Kageuchi is very versatile and helps with restoring energy and it's the 4 star BiS for Ayaka (one of the strongest dps character), it's also not limited to Ayaka since you can use it on Kaeya, Jean and Ayato with no problems. Also surprised about no mention of the watatsumi wavewalkers series, especially the wavebreakers fin. for XIangling, Rosaria and Raiden, it sheets better and does more damage but i understand that it has caveats as being one of the limited banner weapons. Also it felt weird not at least including the stringless, Hamayumi or the Alley series. Only thing i major disagree with is the blackcliff series and the cinnabar spindle, too many wishes to effectively get to r5 and while being solid on most characters, other 4 star weapons can perform better. And Cinnabar Spindle is good for Albedo but it's biggest weakness is that it's made for Albedo. No other character can effectively use it well and it drives down the value of the sword a bit.
for the people who don’t have aquila favonia (like myself) the prototype rancour is an amazing substitute and i feel like it should be an honorable mention
Festering desire I feel should be an honorable mention at least. The OG event weapon still holds up pretty good these days
it'd be actually nice to see a video about 3* tho. It took me so long to for example realise how good support weapon ttds is, and i'm sure there's much more people like me who didn't even considered running 3* weapons before. are there any other good ones, even very situational ones? they're quite cheap to build, easy to get to R5 so i think it might be still worth to talk about them
I was soured on the Favonius set because my first one was the Greatsword. With its low base attack, I felt extremely strugglebus on claymore characters. When I finally got a proper attack 4* weapon, a lvl 40 weapon was taking down mobs faster than my lvl 70 Favonius Greatsword.
Before i watch this im pretty sure all fav series is gonna be on top, because i up every fav series and use all of them to 4 of my team and ez energy
Honestly I think that sac sword is the best. The sex or literally works on anyone and it has better RNG favonius cuz you need to crit and then crack the weapon passive. Versus the sex or do you only need one RNG and depending on the character they're still might be stronger the second time. This can allow you to run four a piece tenacity characters like xinqu.
I'm confused why the cinnabar sword is even mentioned like it's an event limited sword with def stats and passive that works only for a limited banner 5star, meanwhile amenoma works very well for many characters smh

Mr. To Lose. There is a place for the Sword of Descension. September 2020 and Traveler is unironically your dps at AR7. The same advice would apply for the Predator, but most people got Aloy and it waaaaay later on.
They're technically 4* weapons in the same way Traveler and Aloy are technically 5* characters.
The error you made with the catch was that you wanted to upgrade the catch as fast as possible.
I got the catch and just every now and then refined it, it took more time, but I kept my sanity👌

IMO: 1/2) Favonius Polearm, Bow, Sword; Sacrificial Catalyst, Bow, Sword; as supports rotate less than carries and dps increases don't matter as much for support as funneling energy does.
3/4/5/6/7/8/9) "The Catch"; Dodoco Tales; Cinnabar Spindle; Festering Desire; Whiteblind; Iron Sting; Prototype Amber; as these free quest, event, and craftable weapons are easy to get and provide good dps/support value.
10) Serpent Spine, Solar Pearl, Deathmatch, The Viridescent Hunt; as the battle pass is the second most efficient money sink in Genshin (behind Welkin Moon), and doing so will inevitably end up with these weapons over a decent timespan.
There are other useful byproducts of rolling in the wish banners, but they don't make my top 10, as I wouldn't roll for them specifically i.e. The Widsith, The Stringless, Rust, Dragon's Bane, etc.
The fact that i have amos and venti's bow but not a single rust is vexing

I never needed both rusts simultaneously, but still wanted to have two of them in case I'd want to use both xD
I guess Crescent Pike just got forgotten because the meta shifted to Burst rotation. This weapon carried me for the first 10 months of the game with Xiangling, as she served as my main DPS for so long. Once I obtained Raiden, the Crescent Pike got shifted around to the point it now sits on the bench. It doesn't help I acquired three 5 star polearms and The Catch in a relatively short amount of time span. For reference, I only have 1 other 5 star weapon, and it's a bow. I'm still a firm believer that the craftable 4 star weapons are great for free to play players and those just starting out, but fall off after the players have done enough wishes. Not all 4 star weapons are created equal.
Is there a chance for a video on the most worthless 3 stars/4 stars, so that even beginners can avoid them? And maybe a similar or in the same video, 3 stars to keep/upgrade?
