parker th I googled it because I thought she was a smoker too but apparently she has a condition where her trachea is basically collapsed. That’s part of the reason her voice is the way it is, but it’s definitely why her laugh is that way it is.

Her success reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence at that age: a cool new likable actress seemingly pops out of nowhere, is extremely talented, and receives huge critical acclaim at such a young age.
@Jorgie damn that’s an insult to Florence. J Law is an untalented hack, while Florence is actually freaking brilliant in every role she’s been in and has incredible acting range. THREE outstanding movie roles in 2019 ALONE... Florence is defo a talented actress to look out for!

You guys forget that back when Jennifer Lawrence was first breaking out around 2011/2012, everyone loved her and she was also highly lauded and compared to Laurence Olivier and Meryl Streep. She also got something like 4 Oscar nominations between 2010 and 2014. She's clearly also very talented. I think the issue with Jennifer was that along the way, her public persona took over and because she was everywhere for a time a lot of people were turned off of her and since they don't like her as a person anymore, she's now considered untalented. People love Florence and Saoirse right now, but 5 years from now they'll also likely get the kind of hate Jennifer is getting and there'll be new young actors everyone loves.

@@MotorCityPhoenix313 I don't know if you've noticed but whenever female indie stars break out in Hollywood or entertainment in general, everyone loves them at first, comparing them favourably to the people who were in similar positions not too long ago. Then in the case of these actresses, their careers blow up and soon their faces are everywhere and people eventually start to hate them. It happened with Jennifer Lawrence, Brie Larson, Tiffany Haddish and even Amy Schumer for example. In music, it happens all the time as well, e.g Lizzo right now. It's just an unfortunate cycle that seems to exist. I hope it doesn't happen to Saoirse and Florence but their careers are beginning to blow up now so the backlash is likely coming.
Amy was always my least favorite March sister, but after watching this version of Little Women, her portrayal and the way Greta Gerwig wrote her made Amy my favorite character and I rooted for her until the very end! So glad she got nominated. Very well-deserved and I can’t wait to see what she does next

Honestly the biggest snubs for the Oscars were Lupita N'yongo in Us and Florence in Midsommar. I can not believe that Midsommar did not receive nominations. Florence was unbelievable in that movie. The set design, the cinematography, THE SCORE. It was all so good. I can't believe it. So happy she got nominated anyway.

I remember looking through the actors for little women long before it came out and was like “oh Florence Pugh don’t really know who she is” and now I’ve seen that she’s so talented at acting, she’s a literal chameleon who can play any role, she’s beautiful and so unique, and she’s still grounded and playful in real life. I love Saoirse Ronan cause she also is a chameleon type of actor and now I love Florence as well and I’m so so happy for her
