It's crazy how this piece is so distinctly Toby but also so unique to Sword/Shield. It feels right at home in Galar but it would fit perfectly in Undertale and I'm not sure how he was able to make it work
@@batz7517 well sure, but that’s just cause his style has developed over the years. Undertale was a while ago and Deltarune is more recent, so it makes sense that his more recent stuff would be more alike. Doesn’t change my point tho
So let me get this straight. Toby Fox made a mod for Earthbound with his own music, made some more stuff with his own music, made Undertale, became fairly well-known, and got to compose for not one, but two official Nintendo IPs... If that isn't the textbook definition of full circle, I don't know what is...
Man, times have really changed with Toby's Pokémon compositions. It went from this one, being his ONLY song in the franchise to him working on plenty of songs in the next generation. It's pretty interesting and surprising that he managed to work on a Nintendo game in the first place.
@@2099Sunglasses Sorry. I should've worded it better. Obviously, this is not his first ever composition. However, this is indeed fact his first in the Pokémon franchise.

SwSh may have been my least favorite mainline Pokemon game, but this really was a gem in an otherwise fine but unexciting OST. Frankly, I’m a bigger fan of this theme than any single song from either of Gens 5 or 6.
These games might be my least favorite as of now, but I can't deny that the soundtrack is beautiful Edit: Despite how disappointing BDSP were, Sword and Shield are still the worst.
@@jiyunsun They are disappointing, but that's only because I can't use Pokémon past gen 4, like Bisharp or Meowstic. However, once Pokémon Home is available for these games, I'm definitely getting myself a copy.

In my opinion it fits more with deltarune

This song is so Toby, and yet I also get some old school Tales game battle theme vibes from this. It’s fantastic.

Tobey fox also include homestuck
Agreed completely. Homestuck was fucking garbage, but he might not have given such a great theme without it.
Toby’s Homestuck song “The Baby Is You” was great, and the fact he snuck it in here was even greater.
Huh, so this is what the composers of hoenn have been doing all these years.
toby fox did this
this does not sound like hoenn except for one 3 second long part
