What a great video. As a little boy in the 1970s we used to take family holidays along rhe coast near Herne Bay, we didnt have a car in those days so it was a Green Line coach that got us there. We'd quite often set a day aside during the holiday for a day trip to Margate which meant a bus ride from Beltinge, where we were staying. I loved Margate and as a teenager in the 80s I'd visit again with my mates and enjoy Bembom Bros, this video brings back such good memories. Thanks for posting it.
Soo many people everywhere!! In the high street! And no steps! I struggle to remember before the steps it's like they've always been there. (AND every time I sit on them I'm excited to use the 'new' steps XD)
No hideous Turner center to ruin the views, minimal traffic flow unlike the gridlock now with many silly crossings / traffic lights 🙄 Last bit was ramsgate Harbour..
Not a phone zombie's in sight everyone just having fun and enjoying the day . Simple times but truly happy times .

Great video, and I wish it was like that now. Also, that bus wasn't slowing down for anyone crossing the road 😂
Amazing! My home town ❤ I remember when they knocked down The Shipp Inn to build The Turner Centre 😢
Turner gallery you carnt polish a turd like Margate
One assumes the last part of the video is in fact Ramsgate, rather than Margate (Sally Line ferried went via Ramsgate).
That got me for a second, I never knew there was a port in Margate
Great video ❤
Was trying to see if it was my dad in the fishing boat going between the old pier and the shore?
Take me back gor one day x
This was before too much technology, smart phones, smart TV etc... people were getting stimulated outdoors not by phones and stuff
I think youll find this is early nineties not mid 80's
Yeah the clock tower was still a roundabout during the eighties
Put me in a delorean Time Machine hit 88, goodbye shitty 2024
