Its a shame a new pier was never built....which could have incorporated the life boat launch and maybe a sea life centre which would have attracted much tourism and day trippers...as a boy i went fishing on margate pier and had such nice times there...its a shame that many millions was spent on the turner centre housing some prints but no money for a new pier which could have been so nice for so many people !!!!!

I’m in Margate right now and there is just a pier abandoned at sea with no way to get to it because the storm destroyed the rest
