All American: Homecoming 1x09 "Homecoming" Season 1 Episode 9 - REEVALUATING - Simone and the gang rally around Amara as she struggles with what to do next as new information comes to light. Coach Marcus is excited about the all-HBCU baseball game he put together until an old teammate stirs up bad memories that could possibly derail everything. As Damon, JR and the team are focused on the game, they are faced with some challenging guests and new adversaries. Thea has a close call with danger which costs her one relationship and brings a potential new one into her life. Meanwhile, Simone struggles to explain to Jordan her friendship “break-up” with Damon. I have mixed feelings I love Jordan and Simone together. However, long distance is known to kill relationships. And both series are clearly setting up for them to break-up and Jordan and Layla get together and Simone and Damon get together. Like she said their emotional entanglement with Damon, but what she don't know is Jordan low-key got the same emotional entanglement with Layla.
Long distance doesnt break couples up, lack of boundaries, disloyalty & dishonesty breaks couples up. I've seen many long distance relationships last but when it comes to hollywood thats the narrative always written that someone has to cheat which is feeding the already toxic culture.
It's not an Entanglement For Jordan he just misses his Bae, and he's chilling with the friend but on Simone part she promised Bae that she was gonna make up for the times they ain't gonna be together over the phone. And all along Simone knew that she was interested in Damon and she refused to marry Jordan for that Reason.
Long distance does work especially when you and your partner are both willing to make it work it can work it’s just tv always portrays it as something bad

You all can not dismiss certain actions Jordan does and continue to create a narrative that Simone is some sort of hoe. BOTH are engaging in actions that tilt into cheating EQUALLY.
Jordan was all in his feelings about Clay and Asher getting with Laylah. That was very clear from how angry he was. And the "lean in" in Laylah at prom was DEFINITELY more than a friendly lean.
BOTH are on the edge. Let's stop making it a Simone bad girl narrative.

@@pbusyrichard4600 but if they both accept the fact they are emotionally intertwined with other people and come to a consensus that they should mutual break up it could be mutual if they both take responsibility that they love each other but the long distance isn’t working. No drama necessary hopefully. They can have love for each other and move onto different partners.

Simone and Damon does have great chemistry but when she and Jordan are together they are sooo cute. You can't help but wish they are the ones that eventually goes the distance. It's possible for long distance to work out.. Right?!

Just this once a show can show the difficulties of a long distance relationship and show it working out. Damon and Simone can be friends and Layla and Jordan the same. They toed the line but Jordan and Simone relationship grows stronger... Layla and Damon will find or not find that special person but it ain't these two.

Thank you!! Q Lee I hate the fact the writer breakup Jordan & Simone. The writer could just put them as best friends or friends. Now because of that it just seems like it almost impossible to have friendships chemistry between a female & male without feeling in love. Plus, if they decide to stay good friends it show to the world that Layla really grow and finally chose friendship over boys. I just hope this time she will chose to save her friendships with Simone and fall in love with a new person out of their circle friends.

I cannot be the only one that thinks Damon and Simone's energy is... Kinda lacking in chemistry this season? Being completely unbias, I think Jordan and Layla had better chemistry than Simone and Damon. I hope next season the onscreen chemistry gets better for their sake if they really wanna sell their characters relationship. As I see it now, Simone was probably better off doing long distance with Jordan.
I agree. Damon is just not bringing the same energy he was in the pilot episode, coz as much as I love Jimone I was so close to jumping ship (I kinda did 4 a minute) coz the chemistry was on fire. But now, it's just not giving. She's better off with Jordan.
