    • @jackwhitbread4583
      @jackwhitbread4583 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Same for me, religion is rarely ever talked about in the UK and it's always bizarre to me when I come across a Brit who sincerely believes in any God because it's not something that's generally talked about. Religion is much more personal here and other than the annoying preachers in town centres it's not something I really see or hear. It's rare I come across people similar to me who don't have any beliefs outside of the natural world, supernatural thinking is extremely common in the UK but can't say I've come across truly religious people who believe in any sort of God.

      😂 atheism has nothing to do with science LOL it's the complete opposite of the scientific approach it's a disbelief.
      What you should be embarrassed as a Brit is that atheist humanist leftist allowed open borders and multiculturalism and now as a Brit you have Invaders with more rights to your country than you have.
      You should be embarrassed as a Brit that you surrendered your culture. And all of this because the talmud teaches its followers that they have to force you into atheism
      That's just sad. Oh by the way I'm almost forgot. You should be humiliated as a Brit supporting the atheistic humanist radical left and their support for gender faith, putting little boys in dresses.

      So what if there are atheists that believe in something without evidence, it just shows we’re not all sheep, unlike you lot.
      So being an atheist, says nothing about a person’s politics, attitude towards LGBT rights or views on gun control, abortion, church/state separation or anything else. In principle, an atheist could believe in fairies, although the thinking that leads to unbelief in gods, in most cases leads to unbelief in other things that cannot be shown to be real. Consequently, atheists most likely will not believe in Satan, demons, angels, karma, heaven, hell or anything else that relies on the supernatural but, in principle, they could.
      *The only common thread that ties all atheists together is a lack of belief in gods.* Some of the best debates we have ever had have been with fellow atheists. This is because atheists do not have a common belief system, sacred scripture or atheist Pope. This means atheists often disagree on many issues and ideas. Atheists come in a variety of shapes, colors, beliefs, convictions, and backgrounds. We are as unique as our fingerprints.

    • @Phrive
      @Phrive 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It has nothing to do with 'earth not being made of carbon' Earth has carbon, so it is 'made' partly of carbon. It's about the 15th most abundant element in earth. The reason we can't use it to date the earth is because it's half life is too short, carbon 14 (the most common carbon) is useless after about 60,000 years, and the earth being billions of years old means it's useless for dating. Same with life, we have to use other methods because it becomes unreliable on anything older than 60k+ years.

    Interestingly enough, the age of the universe is what led me to atheism. I was going off of faith for a long time, and being able to know something like that without faith made me question my faith. When I realized I didn't actually have good evidence for any of the things I believed in, I stopped believing in them.

      In my 64 years living in the UK I've met a grand total of 12 practicing theists and one of those is a Polish catholic girl who married a scotsman (also an atheist btw) so maybe I should say 11 actual Brits. Everyone I currently know and have asked about the topic says they avoid religion like the plague and one is a staunch anti theist who like me thinks it's an incredibly dangerous belief system. In general we think theists are nutjobs and being so vastly outnumbered they generally scurry about quietly and don't tend to trumpet their delusions.

      I'm a Brit too and I agree, I don't know a single person in the UK who believes in a God. I don't know anyone who is naturalist/materialist either, most of the atheists I know while they don't believe in a God they do believe in the supernatural but as you said religion is very rarely talked about and it's uncommon you would meet a British Christian as most don't hold the belief these days.

      I'm a Brit and I always thought the theists were a dying minority, but when you look around carefully, there is still a strong social grouping of 'church' people, mostly in smaller towns. You'll find a church with a vicar and a small workforce of minor officials with a congregation of diehard believers who behave as if time stopped in 1935. They often have military connections, minor gentry, councillors and the suchlike. They're still powerful in a quiet sort of way. They keep themselves to themselves and control more than I feel comfortable with.
