True 😅

"All this well researched math and science doesn't quite sound right to me.....but this book with no sources and talking animals just makes sense"
Nice strawman and false dichotomy. Typical fodder for the atheist clapping seals to applaud.
Not a false dichotomy, prove empirically that your God exists without relying on the claim (The Bible in this instance) I can provide empirical evidence, for the tectonic plates, for evolution and for gravity so where is the evidence that your sadistic God is based in reality?@@EdithBromfeld
@@EdithBromfeldclapping seals are still much smarter than any bible thumper since I’m sure they don’t believe in fairy tales like you people.
@@EdithBromfeld If it was a strawman it would be me being kind. If I were to list all the actual problems you'd need to set time aside to read the essay.
@@EdithBromfeld Not sure if you actually understand your own thoughts. Seems like you're just spouting word salad.
so caller is saying ignorance is bliss, spoken like a true christian

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm actually embarrassed to be a Brit, hearing a fellow countryman spouting this absolute nonsense. Science is wrong because my book... totally illogical
Same for me, religion is rarely ever talked about in the UK and it's always bizarre to me when I come across a Brit who sincerely believes in any God because it's not something that's generally talked about. Religion is much more personal here and other than the annoying preachers in town centres it's not something I really see or hear. It's rare I come across people similar to me who don't have any beliefs outside of the natural world, supernatural thinking is extremely common in the UK but can't say I've come across truly religious people who believe in any sort of God.
@jackwhitbread4583 Indeed. I see street preachers in my City, but tend to ignore them. The odd JW knock on our door, but as long as they're polite, I don't mind so much.
😂 atheism has nothing to do with science LOL it's the complete opposite of the scientific approach it's a disbelief.
What you should be embarrassed as a Brit is that atheist humanist leftist allowed open borders and multiculturalism and now as a Brit you have Invaders with more rights to your country than you have.
You should be embarrassed as a Brit that you surrendered your culture. And all of this because the talmud teaches its followers that they have to force you into atheism
That's just sad. Oh by the way I'm almost forgot. You should be humiliated as a Brit supporting the atheistic humanist radical left and their support for gender faith, putting little boys in dresses.

Okay Mark ??
"i'm confused by the word standard".......go ask your magical snake
"I've looked into the science." This sentence always concerns me.
I always translate that as “I’ve looked into my pastor’s view of the science.”
"I've done my research" 🤔🤪
Theists claiming to have "looked into the science" has a similar energy to:
Theist: I've read this book and it's gibberish!
Atheist: You can read German?
Theist: What's German?
Atheist: The language that book is written in.
And then immediately follows with “I read on Wikipedia”
Faith is the art of lying to yourself. Critical thinking is the art of questioning yourself.
Yet, you practice blind faith atheism, without a shred of evidence, much less proof that atheism is correct on God. You don't question the insanity of your own claims.
@@EdithBromfeldYour dogmatic declarations here are made without a shred of evidence to support them.

Another caller that puts their faith over knowledge
That's a weird way to live your life in my opinion.
When you do not understand how science works in a particular area, perhaps you might think about reading a reputable book that teaches you how science works in that particular area? Ignorance can normally be addressed by education. Deliberate ignorance, or denialism, of the sort demonstrated by Mark from the UK, obviously cannot be addressed by education of any rational sort.
But my holy book says.....

"Knowledge is meaningless to me."
Wow.
“You don’t understand the premise of my argument.”
You haven’t established a premise, or made an argument. You’ve stated a series of words that, separately, have certain meanings, but together, say absolutely nothing. Just like “The equilibrium of my current state is perpendicular to the validity of a wombat.”
What the caller was missing is that the actual facts don't change depending on on the perspective or opinion. This distinguishes facts from opinions.
10:41 "To me knowledge is meaningless" Well damn... he just went and said it. Points for honesty then I guess!
The UK has a really, really good public education service. Somehow this guy (or his parents) managed to avoid it.
So, today is the day when I try to prove false all the theories I know nothing about.
-the caller.
Come on Mark, playing the lost puppy who simply can't understand. From London though, in the UK, place with a huge atheist population and mainstream secular culture. Pull the other one, lad.

The sky is actually purple, Mark. I have no evidence and you have to believe me.
So this guy believes everything he’s told with no evidence? Insane.
Nope. But AXP atheists believe all sorts of nonsense without evidence.
Only for things from his one book. Literally everything else appears to be bunk to him. Now, that's insane.
@@EdithBromfeld
So what if there are atheists that believe in something without evidence, it just shows we’re not all sheep, unlike you lot.
So being an atheist, says nothing about a person’s politics, attitude towards LGBT rights or views on gun control, abortion, church/state separation or anything else. In principle, an atheist could believe in fairies, although the thinking that leads to unbelief in gods, in most cases leads to unbelief in other things that cannot be shown to be real. Consequently, atheists most likely will not believe in Satan, demons, angels, karma, heaven, hell or anything else that relies on the supernatural but, in principle, they could.
*The only common thread that ties all atheists together is a lack of belief in gods.* Some of the best debates we have ever had have been with fellow atheists. This is because atheists do not have a common belief system, sacred scripture or atheist Pope. This means atheists often disagree on many issues and ideas. Atheists come in a variety of shapes, colors, beliefs, convictions, and backgrounds. We are as unique as our fingerprints.
He's got magical faith. Explains everything
Except the truth!
Another great example of someone so ignorant they can't understand how ignorant they are. He thinks the hosts are the problem because he can't relate to how intelligent they are.
My religion makes me a complete automaton and that's the life I prefer to live. Thinking is hard and might make me question my beliefs.
7:10 is where Mark's dishonesty starts to show. He said he understands radiocarbon dating, the hosts said that's how we can date things that contain carbon, but not the Earth, and he ignores this.
The Earth is not made of carbon, so we don't calculate the age of the Earth using radiocarbon dating.
It has nothing to do with 'earth not being made of carbon' Earth has carbon, so it is 'made' partly of carbon. It's about the 15th most abundant element in earth. The reason we can't use it to date the earth is because it's half life is too short, carbon 14 (the most common carbon) is useless after about 60,000 years, and the earth being billions of years old means it's useless for dating. Same with life, we have to use other methods because it becomes unreliable on anything older than 60k+ years.
I suspect he hasn't got a clue how it works....at all
0:07 "I don't see how you can actually not believe in a god . . . " 0:18 "I am wondering how you arrived at that position".
One does not arrive atheism, but at religion; atheism is the initial state of the mind.
Guy sounds like he’s gonna put his hand over my heart and say Kali Ma…
Monkey brain seems fitting here

There it is folks.
The 🧠 is broken.

"To me, knowledge is meaningless". Very telling lol.
Guys like this caller is AN EMBARASSMENT to this TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY. the questions science, but believes in TALKING SNAKE!!!!
Mark is trying extremely hard to sound clever, however nothing he said had any meaning to it, what in Britain is called " waffling".
"Knowledge is meaningless"?? I'd rather stay ignorant and stupid because it is comfortable to delude yourself? WOW
You cannot deny he puts his money where his mouth is.
That's a pretty common position with these people. Learning deep subjects sounds really hard, so they just don't. Total cop-out.
"How can you not believe in my god?" "You MUST believe in my god, then you MUST do what I tell you to do and then you MUST give me money."
"We both know that people invent religions that aren't true. Atheists just go one religion further."
If a man can invent a computer he can easily invent a religion complete with a god.
“There’s no actual physical proof or evidence to suggest that, it’s just based on mathematical calculations.”
Genuinely trying to understand how that combination of words said that order is possible.
I'd like for him to interview people and ask whether or not it's "common sense" that animals, such as snakes, can talk.
Do theists not understand when they ask an atheist "Why don't you believe in God", they need to ask that question to everyone, including other theists who believe in a different God?
I'm convinced most have never thought of it that way, and I suspect the reason is atheists are much more of a threat than other religions are.
"For me, knowledge is meaningless."
Well, clearly 😅
It’s just common sense, guys. Animals talk, people fly, dragons and giants exist, people weekend inside fish, seas part, the sun can stop in the sky. Common. Sense.
“I completely understand your perspective, and I don’t understand it.” Broken Brain Syndrome strikes again! 🤪
So he is saying if you use different means (perspectives) you gonna come to different conclusions. Yes if you use wrong means you surely do, like not using the order of operations in maths. Sometimes someone might even use a different perspective on purpose like carbon dating.
Caller is skeptical of Gods will to include atheism in to creation.
And a good Saturday Morning 🌞 AXP Fans and Theists ❤❤❤
Peace Love Empathy From Australia 💪🤠✌️
« But why dont you believe in my favourite fairy tale? »
Interestingly enough, the age of the universe is what led me to atheism. I was going off of faith for a long time, and being able to know something like that without faith made me question my faith. When I realized I didn't actually have good evidence for any of the things I believed in, I stopped believing in them.
the question shouldn't be ' how can you not believe in a god ' but rather ' how can you believe in something thats obivously a myth , a story and no more true than the myth of Zeus or Thor
It’s June 2024 and I really hope Mark found the way ou of his rabbit hole, for his own sake.
No. This guy is in for life. Such as it is. A hell of his own making.
He was indoctrinated from birth. Poor guy.
I got to atheism by not making any assumptions.
Not only is there a lot of physical evidence for ancient earth, there is NO evidence that supports a young earth hypothesis.
If you don’t start with the answer, you can follow the evidence without agenda.
I read a book that said the earth is 18 million years old. His old book says 6 thousand so it must be right. Does that mean in 2,000 years my book will be right?
If knowledge is meaningless and god is all knowledge, therefore god is meaningless. Good job.
The arrogance to challenge someone who doesn't share your beliefs when you have absolutely no proof your beliefs are true, is off-the-scale astounding.
So according to this guy ignorance literally is bliss 😅
"carefully curated ignorance"
Yup.
I reckon that the Australian aborigine stories about how the kangaroo got its tail sounded like common sense to those that heard it - it explained why the kangaroo had a tail, which otherwise would be a complete mystery.
Australian here. Just a friendly reminder in case you were unaware. Aborigine is an outdated and kind of derogatory term. It's like calling an Inuit person and eskimo. The proper term is Aboriginal.
@@FrameRage I apologise for using a noun as an adjective - sorry about that a slip. But I still object to using an adjective as a noun. I suppose i have to say “aboriginal people told aboriginal stories” when we have a perfectly good noun for aboriginal people. But I refuse to use aboriginal as a noun.
"I need to have a purpose for existing and not accept that I'm just another evolved great ape and lifeform on this planet, therefore I've picked a religion that tells me I'm special so I can sleep at night." What a pathetic position.
there is a number of things that proves the universe is not 6300 years old.
We know how mountain form and how long it would have taken for it to reach that height. The same with ancient rivers and lakes.

Skeptism skeptics, that's a good name for belivers.
Religion is so bizarre. People think that even if you accept that a god exists or is likely, that all of the lore automatically gets accepted too. Its like pondering if aliens exists while also tacking on a ton of unfounded alien lore
And yet another theist falls flat on their face...
I don’t think I’ve heard another call that so blatantly misrepresented & misunderstood what atheism is in so many stupid & dishonest ways in such a short space of time 🙄

More proof that religion has actually convinced people that the LESS real Evidence they have for their god claims... the Better!!! They even feel Blessed to have so little!!! Lucky them...
To hold those views as an American is somewhat understandable...there seems to be a lot of it about. To hold them as a Brit...where religion has fallen off a cliff; and theists under the age of 50 are as scarce as hen's teeth. just beggars belief. As a Brit myself, I detect a slight accent...perhaps African. That might explain it.
In my 64 years living in the UK I've met a grand total of 12 practicing theists and one of those is a Polish catholic girl who married a scotsman (also an atheist btw) so maybe I should say 11 actual Brits. Everyone I currently know and have asked about the topic says they avoid religion like the plague and one is a staunch anti theist who like me thinks it's an incredibly dangerous belief system. In general we think theists are nutjobs and being so vastly outnumbered they generally scurry about quietly and don't tend to trumpet their delusions.
I'm a Brit too and I agree, I don't know a single person in the UK who believes in a God. I don't know anyone who is naturalist/materialist either, most of the atheists I know while they don't believe in a God they do believe in the supernatural but as you said religion is very rarely talked about and it's uncommon you would meet a British Christian as most don't hold the belief these days.
@@davidsmith7653I'm an anti theist too, I've found the more debates and call in shows I listen to the more my hatred grows for the Abrahamic religions especially. There's just so many deeply problematic issues that disgust me about organised religion, I don't see any use or any good for religion.
I'm a Brit and I always thought the theists were a dying minority, but when you look around carefully, there is still a strong social grouping of 'church' people, mostly in smaller towns. You'll find a church with a vicar and a small workforce of minor officials with a congregation of diehard believers who behave as if time stopped in 1935. They often have military connections, minor gentry, councillors and the suchlike. They're still powerful in a quiet sort of way. They keep themselves to themselves and control more than I feel comfortable with.
He *DID SAY IT IN A VERY NARROW CONTEXT*

“Knowledge is meaningless”……Jeebus Christ!
They’re all so exhausting and dishonest. Religion appears to be a repository for the worst that humanity has to offer.
16:00 Literally germ theory someone yell this man to wash his hands
Here's how you show that people who believe the earth was made in seven days are full of it. Ask them IF the bible was originally written to say the earth was created in 30 days instead of 7 days, would they be saying the bible is wrong, and that it SHOULD be 7 days.
They'd say no, the bible was made in 30 days because "it just makes sense".
No reasoning necessary, just regurgitating what the book says.
Word salad man. Contradicts himself at every turn.
He thinks if he can say he’s “skeptical” of people who ask questions then his god is automatically true. He would only have to do this if he knew for a fact he can’t demonstrate his god.
