Paul Di Anno blew it, he should have just said, "Those guys are great friends of mine, enjoyed being in that band, And Bruce is a great singer but not my style, I'm here doing what I love most, punk rock. If you want to hear Bruce you got a ticket to the wrong gig."
Exactly! Paul could have handled it in a professional manner...but he’s sadly not very professional and chooses hard man posturing and violence rather than subtlety You’ll always get the odd drunken asshole when you’re past your prime and playing small gigs like this. He should have ignored it and just carried on “never argue with a fool as they’ll win due to experience “ or used the old Agree and Absurdify ploy “Bruce, yeah! He’s out the back...parking the van. Come on lads 1,2,3,4!”
I can't believe the hate and anger on here. I am going to state my opinion. if Paul didn't get kicked out, Iron Maiden wouldn't have made it. Sorry it is the truth, he was not 100% committed to the band. Didn't have the best stage presence, and did too much partying. They were looking to make it in the long run, not the short stint. They had to do what they needed to do at the time. As for the band, I I like all their albums. Of course my favorite off all time is "Piece Of Mind" But I still like and respect the first 2 albums. They all have their place, and did what they needed to do. Iron Maiden is still my favorite metal band of all time. And I have seen them live quite a few times. Up the Irons!!
Iron Maiden already *had* made it when Paul Di'Anno was in the band! Stop rewriting history. First Maiden world tour? Paul Di'Anno. First U.S. tour? Paul Di'Anno. First appearance on Top of the Pops? Paul Di'Anno. First *headlining* tour? Paul Di'Anno. First major chart success? Paul Di'Anno. First music video? Paul Di'Anno. First gold record? Paul Di'Anno. First platinum record? Paul Di'Anno. First gold-selling concert video? Paul Di'Anno. First top 5 single? Paul Di'Anno. Bruce Dickinson jumped into a band that were already white-hot... and was erroneously given credit for how white-hot it already was. He didn't *make* Maiden. He didn't have any more of a commercial voice. Paul could have just as easily ascended to the same heights, and in fact... *already had*. Even after Maiden, his own band, BattleZone, had some fairly major success in the late '80s with the Children of Madness record. The band had musical differences, and Paul moved on. And that's that. Bruce didn't make the band. He isn't responsible for the success. He's a good singer in a successful band. Which is the exact same thing Paul was.
Really? You require evidence of Bruce Dickinson being a raging dickhead? I thought it was common knowledge. The guy ripped up Maiden fans' signs in 2006 because they were writing 'play the hits' - a reference to the fact that Bruce was refusing to sing the Maiden standards in favor of the wanky, pretenious, overlong, impossibly boring tripe on the 'A Matter of Life and Death' album. Bruce Dickinson rips up sign at Iron Maiden concert At least Paul Di'Anno was provoked by a mouthy fan. Bruce Dickinson only shredded that fan's sign because of his massive ego and boundless pretentiousness.
***** The thing is most bands get offended when fans only want to hear bands constantly playing the same songs. AMOLAD was a great album. My favorite, and possibly their darkest and heaviest, since Piece of Mind. It is offensive, and even Lemmy says in his book he gets tired of it. Lemmy stated that Motorhead have written tons of great music since Ace of Spades but fans only want to hear Ace Of Spades, and he gets sick of it. Iron Maiden also responded to fans by doing the Somewhere back in Time tour after that tour for the fans. Also Bruce personally flew to Haiti and helped fly people out who were stranded there, at his own expense. That fan deserved to have the sign ripped up, it's disrespectful. Bruce also stuck up for the fans at Ozzfest because he didn't agree with the fact that the first four rows in front of the stage were reserved for press and fans weren't allowed to get up closer, even though the first four rows weren't really being used at all. Sharon responded by cutting Iron Maiden's power off during their set and having eggs thrown at the band.
Lemmy was 100% right, so is Bruce (even if he didn't come out say the same verbatim). If you want to hear the same album all the time, you really aren't a fan of the band, just one album. Plus it's really doing a disservice to a band to want to hear only one album or ten songs when they have a 40-year career to pick from (whether Maiden, Motorhead, Sabbath, Priest, Rush, Floyd, whomever). If all you do is play older material you'll just be a novelty act, like Queensryche was on the verge of being before they got rid of Geoff Tate. I might think Metallica and Slayer are shit today but I'm not gonna go see them and expect them to play everything from the first three albums. Hell I'll stay home and blast Kill, SNM, Master, and Reign if I wanted to do that.
Nobody was asking Maiden to 'just play the hits'... Iron Maiden were playing 'A Matter of Life and Death' *in its entirety* on that tour! The fans were asking for some *variety* and less Prog Rock B.S.! The album wasn't strong enough *at all* to accommodate that decision, and that 'one fan'... was, in fact, representative of a good THIRD of the Maiden fanbase that felt that what the band were doing was pretentious. Because it *was*. It was a presumptuous gesture because it assumed that - in the same year of its release - A Matter of Life and Death was already 'classic' enough to play from beginning to end in a live setting. ...what Maiden discovered, instead, was that the album was weak, meandering, ponderous and slow. And very few if any of those songs worked in a live setting. As evidenced by the fact that they play virtually nothing from AMOLAD on stage in 2014.
The poor guy in the crowd was trying to make a harmless joke about the microphone stand that kept slipping down during the show... Simply saying that it is now the right height for Bruce Dickinson as he isn't very tall :-) You can hear the frustration in the guys voice as he tries to find the words to explain but the singer wouldn't let him speak :-( You even hear his friend say "height for Bruce Dickinson."
The English language sucks... hahahaha. I know. I felt the pain in the fan's voice too. Oh, boy. Oh, well. I hope Paul didn't really kick this guy's butt, though. lol
I have been a life long Maiden fan. The first album I listened to was Killers and was hooked. Now Paul was a great singer at that time and those records he recorded with Maiden will forever be loved by us all. However, Bruce took them to another level! I don't think Paul should be insulting him or ranting at fans for mentioning Bruce's name. It just looks bad. And as far as that opera singer comment...Paul honestly bro...that was uncalled for. So sad to see him clearly still upset. And FYI Running Free is not what made Maiden famous in my opinion (just my opinion folks) the album Number of the Beast is what skyrocketed them into another stratosphere.
Nothing to do with that. Shouting trite questions about arena rock celebrities is not what makes a club gig great. DiAnno still giving it all in "Phantom of the Opera" is.
Self titled IRON MAIDEN and KILLERS were both great records.... no doubt about that.... however... Iron Maiden truly spread it's wings as a band when Bruce entered the fold and the next three albums followed.... NUMBER OF THE BEAST, PIECE OF MIND, POWERSLAVE. It's where Maiden really gained the status of a true metal force. Paul was good but sorry, the band would not be where it became if Bruce never entered the fold. Paul can make light of Bruce's vocals all he wants on Run To The Hills but the truth is that Paul never had the vocal range that Bruce does and he could never make those later records come alive with his limited vocals. Paul comes across as a bitter man who dreams of what he wished he had and faces the fact of just how amazing and perfect for Maiden, Bruce really is. Bruce not only is an amazing singer that fits Maiden perfectly, but Bruce also has the stage presence that is perfect for Maiden also, Paul never had the latter.
Paul is now just one fat old man who sings in pubs and open mics. That shit bag would have a cardiac arrest if he even thinks of Run to the Hills or Aces High... This old sack is good for nothing but throw shit at singers better than him.
+Kopral Jono - Nope. He was fired because due to drugs abuse he was unable to go and sing at the concerts. Paul DiAnno is the best singer of heavy metal. All the specialities. He is the real singer of Iron Maiden and should have stayed forever there. We can only regret that he is a wasted talent, wasted best voice for Iron Maiden.
yup I fully agree the fat old prick is a wana be pining for the 80's yeah the first 2 reccords were great but he got fired and now is doing pubs wishing he was a billion air poor dood
As a Maiden fan, I LOVE them both: Bruce and Paul, diferents Styles and vocal Range. Both are great and are the BEST for the maiden songs they Sing.including Blaze are great too! Maiden is perfect! No bad álbum, no bad singer, no bad song. Maiden Will live forever!
I have nearly all the albums and he was average compared to many of his peers in the industry at the time. Maiden would have died a slow death years ago if the had of stuck with him..
Nice to see Maiden and him are OK now, but that comment about Bruce was not neccessary at all. And I have to say that the Number of the beast album is what made Maiden famous.
The guy who was saying "Bruce Dickinson" I don't think he was a jerk, I just think Dianno misinterpreted what he was trying to say. if you actually listen to what the guy says, he says that he loves them both. I think Paul took the offensive without listening to the guy.
I believe he was trying to make some kind of joke about the mic stand falling down. Saying now it’s the right height for Bruce Dickinson who’s very short
You are wrong, Paul is God of real, raw, original heavy metal, Dickenson is commercial one, this man is real man, real heavy metal icon! Long live Paul DiAnno! REST IN PEACE CLIVE BURR!
@@nicola3586 you're right, in his singing and styling he mixed punk, hm, rock, everything good in music. Real legend. Always prefered him than Dickinson. Dickinson is false metal singer, he's more rocker than metal singer, too much influential to Harris and rest of band. Paul was sincere, usual, real idol of ordinary people.
I’m not defending Dianno but just cause a band makes fat dollar that doesn’t always mean they’re always better that’s not how musicianship works. Bieber sells loads xD
Killers was the best Maiden record ever recorded, but Bruce was a better singer. I thought that Paul said Bruce is the best singer Maiden ever had in the documentary.
I felt so sorry for the guy Paul was yelling at. Clearly there was a language barrier and at the end I did hear the guy repeatedly try to say, "please, I'm sorry". Paul has turned into a bitter has been. He was great on those first two records. He got booted from the band because he was a coke head and was having bad anxiety attacks before shows that made him not want to perform. Steve Harris, Clive Burr and Dave Murray couldnt depend on this guy at all. If anyone fucked up his place in Maiden it was Paul, not Bruce. Paul has no one to blame but himself. If he stayed sober, the band probably would have carried on with him, but he, and only he fucked it up. So sad because I loved his vocals in Iron Maiden and Killers.
Spot on man. This was a perfect occasion that showed the level of damage and rudeness he carries. Truly sad as I my self am a huge fan of his work in the 2 albums.
The dude speaking to Di anno is really bilingual and he can't speak English very well, and Paul seems to be much of a out of the closet brain dead toughie.. Not noticing intelligently enough that the dude is simply trying to ask a professional question while he is trying his best to ask a question about Bruce dickinson, what was that Paul? Come on.
Agree 100% I’m a huge Dianno fan, and the first two Maiden albums are my favorite-that being said, Paul was a bit of an asshole hear. I feel he reacted to hearing Bruce’s name without having any idea of what the kid said. Using your stage and platform to be a dick is to truly be a dick.
I can accept that hes pissed at maiden and dickinson and all that but what i cant fucking be cool with his him threatening and insulting his fans. Paul, in times like this you need all the fans you can get, dont throw the people who came out to see you away man.
Conner Pavis I didn't take it as he was threatening and insulting his fans. The dude clearly brought up the bruce thing, said bruce was his friend etc... just being a antagonizing idiot so he told him plainly you don't like me whyd you come? go the fuck home! Then the fan says something about kicking ass and paul must have thought he was being threatened so came back with the you don't want this yada yada. Then the guy says I love you etc... to paul and paul probably took that as the dude being a wise ass, cause that's what I thought too. I don't blame him one bit...hes trying to do a show and entertain the fans that were there. He doesn't need this moron ruining it for everyone. While hes not the greatest singer in the world, he def deserves respect as a metal icon who put iron maiden on the map. Then the band just shits all over him and doesn't even send him a dollar off all the millions they made. now that's a dick!!!
Fuck that noise. Even the metal heads of today are politically corrected pussies. Geeeeeees. This is the type of thing Metal fans LOVED about their artists back in the day, they said what they wanted to anyone they wanted to.
This is actually funny because I have heard Di"Anno say positive things about Bruce. On the Early Years documentary he says that Bruce Dickinson was the best singer Iron Maiden has had.
+Nate Beakley I think what the guy was saying is Dickinson was the best singer for the type of music Iron Maiden was playing. Di'Anno to my knowledge has always been more into punk then heavy metal so it's true Dickinson was more suited for Maiden, doesn't mean either one of them has to suck, they both like different styles of music. At least it ain't Rap or top 40's shit. Hey look, your at almost two hundred and fifty thousand views now, I'm 247,587
Nate Beakley I think he probably gets a moron shouting bruce dickinson in everyone of his gigs... he doesnt sound really pissed at bruce just at the damn situation, its his gig why the hell would you pay the ticket snd go over there just to heckle him.
1:36 "and I'm not gay." Yeah, neither is Bruce. I saw Di'anno a couple times solo and he loved talking the gay talk about people...it was like that was the only insult he knew.
Paul was cool. Iron Maiden and Killers were great albums, but Dickinson's albums like Number of the Beast, Powerslave, etc. were just plain better. Besides here is Di'anno, who looks like your alcoholic grandfather that yells at the tv, While BD is still with Iron Maiden.
The only reason why Iron Maiden kicked out Paul is because he got such a big drug and alcohol addiction that his live performance started inhibiting. Even look at some of Harris's and Murray's interviews, they say it themselves
To be fair you can't blame Paul for being annoyed, rule no 1 don't mentioned Bruce Dickinson at a Paul Di Anno gig, its bound to end bad no matter what. Jesus the guy hasn't got 2 pennies to rub together and playing in shit holes while Bruce is flying 747s and filling arena's to breaking point...have some tact, do not mention Bruce Dickinson full stop.
Bruces isn't gay, and has an amazing vocal range for metal, having said I love the raw sound of Di'Anno as well. To me Bruce is the voice of Iron Mainden though, just as much as Steve Harris is their heart.
It's really sad to see Di'Anno, the voice of my childhood, being in such a sad state : he's badmouthing Maiden all the time, but he's earn his money by singing the songs they made together - in other words, relying on the past glories of his time on "the band that treated him so bad" in is own words. Also, he attacking a guy that didn't speak English and couldn't defend hiself - too bad for the fan that speak to a drunk Di'Anno - but the crowd took Di'Anno's side, 'cause "he is the idol here". If Maiden "are a money making machine", then Di'Anno trying to have a share of the pie - not from me, I rather give my money to Maiden, but only when they release DVD''s for a good reason (Maiden England '88 for example) and GOOD new albums - not for everything they put out.
Dude the guy in the audience knew wtf he was doing, total bs for him to be out there chanting bruce Dickinson, that's fucking bullshit, if you're too stupid to see that, then I feel bad for you.
Robert Goelzer O.K., I agree it was a stupid reaction from the fan to doing this - you just can't go to a concert and scream about the "rival" singer in the face of the performing singer, but you know, you don't have to feel bad about me - better feel bad about Di'anno....
Just think about about it, in his situation, you'd all be so mad too. He saw all his mates becoming millionnaires as he was crippeling drugged and broke. He's questioned about the guy who became what he should have been, at his concert, trying to make a living out of what remains of his fame,;; yeah, he's bitter. I won't trow the rock at him.
Di'Anno was probably drunk like he always is during his shows. He did an interview where he was quite sincere and maintained that Dickinson was a great fit and that Number of the Beast is a classic, and actually follows them up until the present day, and knows about the whole Blaze Bayley albums and little stuff like that.
Meus conhecimentos de inglês não são dos melhores.. mas da pra entender um pouco sobre esse diálogo: " i am number one vocal bruce Dickinson i am sorry i don't sing opera "Run To the Hills" the is too easy and i'm not gay this is punk are you ready if you like bruce go home listen to his records why you come and buy the ticket? this is real man this is what made i am maer not the money making machine i came from seeing my friends friends you don't like it go your self better still you want to fight i am yeah you'll be sorry i rip your head off and down anyway we have the one gay person here tonight now no i am sorry yeah you shouldn't be offensive man i come up you to work hard if you don't like me. Poor Paul obviously still bitter that Maiden still went places without him, still having to play Iron Maiden songs cause he can't write his own and I'm pretty sure The Number of the Beast was the song that made Iron Maiden not running free
Lmao no, only reason he got kicked out was because he was partying too much (wow, because the rest of Maiden were such angels). Paul has more of a rock n’ roll attitude than Bruce will ever be. Bruce is just a poser defending sellout.
@UCjogKvwftTf3M040qaetFug Oh frick off mate. Not every band that made it big, is a sellout. Maiden's style got way more aggressive and interesting after Bruce joined the band. Not that they were bad in any way during the Di'Anno years, there's just no denying that Bruce played a huge part in Maiden's success.
I really like the early albums more than blaze's but i have so much respect for blaze... Paul actually cursed the guy just to feel better with himself...
I was a huge Dianno fan as I loved his raspy vocals and thought "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" were awesome albums, which were the ones that got me into Maiden in the first place. I got hold of a borrowed copy of "The Beast", Dianno's autobiography and really looked forward to reading it. I sat down, opened it up, read the first 3 pages where he told me numerous times how tough he was, how many drugs he takes and how awesome he is with "the birds" and I put it down, never to read another page. What a self-obsessed knob-jockey! It was really disappointing because I was such a fan, and I had laboured under a delusion that perhaps because he was always the punkier influenced member of Maiden, that maybe he was politically astute, with something of a social conscience. NOT! I will always admire his vocals on those first two albums, and his work with Dianno, but as a person he has gone way down in my estimation.
"Being Punk" is not about being politically astute or having a social conscience. It's about doing what you want and being yourself. You want to be politically astute? Fine! You don't want to talk about politics? Great You wanna be a Nazi and sing about it? Good You want to be a Stalin lover or a Pol Pot sympathizer? Nice Don't try to put the "Punk attitude" in limits. It's people like you who are not punk. DiAnno is a great free spirit. He does what he wants and says what he wants. You don't like him? It's your right, but the bit about him not being "Punk Good Enough" is total bullshit.
@@theinmortal6he’s not a “Nazi”. It’s become a buzzword thrown around haphazardly like “racist” or the various “phobias” to shame those who don’t agree with your political ideology. You’re in no position to shame anyone.
Paul is nothing if not tone deaf to the communication from an obviously flustered Eastern European. He just can't wait to threaten to fight the guy, to take digs at Bruce Dickinson, to be openly bitter about his life, etc. etc. etc.…
@@blackwolf1475 Well, why people always asking something very old , long time a go questions ..what you think about BD and that ? its stubid let it be and so..he makes his own career now ..
You're definitely not an Iron Maiden fan if you don't have the first two Maiden albums in your top ten. Di'anno was a fantastic singer and suited Harris's songwriting that combined gave us that punky feeling. All part of maidens history and if you don't think Di'anno was a major influence on the beginning of maidens success then you're not a fan.. simple!
The guy in the crowd can't speak proper English. What he is saying is "Send regards to Bruce Dickinson" basically. Most likely he thought that Paul and Bruce were actually friends.
I don't blame Paul for reacting the way he did. The guy trying to say something about Bruce was one, a fuckhead, and two, very poor command of English. Paul has a right to be pissed, and of course he is pissed at the guy who replaced him. Truth is though, Paul was replaced because of his choice of route of drugs, and not taking care of his voice. He was kicked out because he couldn't be relied on to turn up and do a professional performance as a bare minimum. He would NEVER have been able to do Number justice, and he would never have been able to hang with Maiden with the heights that they have gone to. First two albums were great, fantastic. Maiden would not be the band they are today if they had only done those two albums with Paul. He was part of the beginning, and that is all. And besides, the fat bastard pull would fall over of exhaustion during the first song if he had to try to perform on a current day Maiden set. Running Free made Maiden? Yeah Paul, the only reason it's a great song is that Steve co-wrote it with you. You are seriously deluded.
Btw, how do you know what the guy was trying to say? This was a Russian club, the guy is Russian, and he was just trying to ask Paul if he knew Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of IM without meaning ath spiteful. Why that pissed Paul off that much - I have no idea. Perhaps because Paul understands the abyss b/w Bruce and himself.
+MrCapone1996 - Paul's punk singing fits Iron Maiden better than Bruce's opera singing. And Paul wasn't quite a punk singer. Non punk rocker could sing for metal music like Paul did. Paul doesn't sing opera, he is not ballerina like Bruce xD
Paul quit the band because he couldn't handle touring and wanted to be home! He wasn't fired! He's just pissed because he knows he fucked his career away being a pussy and not being able to handle the road. Dickenson has a better voice and the content of the songs got deeper and better as the band progressed. Bitter old bastard!
i don´t think is wise to scream out another artist´s name at a concert. the same would happen if i scream "paul dianno" at dickinson. if i´d go see paul is because i remember his first two albums with maiden and give him all the credit he´s entitled to. he was going through rough times with drugs when he separated and in an interview he says that he just couldn´t keep up on tour with maiden. drugs kill, and before you know it you´ve lost everything.
I just wish people would stop calling Bruce's vocals 'operatic'. Opera is what Pavarotti sings. No comparison. Di'anno just comes off as a butthurt these days. The above footage proves this. I mean he'll happily slag Maiden off, yet still sings songs that he never even wrote. Regardless of what his vocals were like on the first two records- which are classics- it really is time for him to retire cos he fucking murders them live these days. Dickinson sings them better even now.
"This is a song I wrote. This is what made Iron Maiden famous." Uh, no Paul. 1. You only wrote the lyrics. You've never really contributed anything musically for Maiden. It was all Steve Harris. 2. Running Free was far from the song that made Maiden "famous".
@@adamhendrickson512 define fame? I mean they were already doing great on the first 2 albums aka also add the sound house tapes, which had sold massively they did bit the stratosphere by number of the beast but they were already on their way there when Paul was in the band.
It was funny to watch. What has happened to the old sense of humour. Today people take things far to seriously. Lighten up people. It is good to have a good laugh.
He is right about making Iron Maiden famous. They even ended up on top of the pops with the song. Being on T O T P helped their career a bit. During a long period of time they always played the song live.
I follow Steve Harris, not the singer. Steve created the unique style they have. Without Steve, it isn't iron maiden. And for the record, that is not PUNK. THAT is an underground metal band. Punk is anti-establishment, anti-big business. No way would a punk band sign to a major record unless they were going to sell out and then they are not punk. Since '81 I've been in the real punk scene, not the Green Day pop punk stuff. Paul's current band might align to punk theory more than pop punk sell outs.
was their first commercial single, he wrote the drum parts and the lyrics and that song enabled the band to get tours, peak in the UK album charts and play Top of the Pops for the 1st time, so what he said is a fact, you don't even know it and your username is "DaveMurray1"...lame
1981 Rod smallwood to Steve Harris :" anything about the guys in the band there might be a problem with ?" Steve : "there might be an issue with the singers behavior " Indeed ! (taken from the book on maiden by martin popoff)
well bruce isn't the original singer for iron maiden but since bruce joined iron maiden became extremely known by everyone, plus bruce's voice is just orgasmic and it can vary for lots of genres but paul do have his own uniqueness, his voice sounds more 70's ish rather than a metal voice he would sing good in deep purple songs (my views) but still no one could top off bruce's onstage performance, i mean di'anno would never run around the stage singing like a thespian, so BRUCE WINS
Paul thought the crowd would have his back when he raged on that kid, but come on, no Maiden fan is going to cheer slagging Bruce. The longer Paul ranted The less and less cheers he got. I think he noticed that and it enraged him further, so he resorts to death threat gestures to the fan. Idiot. I always loved Diannos vocals but lost quite a bit of respect for him hearing the Bruce disses
Dianno is a lot better in his attitude towards Maiden nowadays. He's over his worst that we can see here. Never liked his 'money making machine' bollocks when (for decades) he's made a living riding off the coattails of Iron Maiden. Glad he's found some peace.
and Bruce Dickinson is watching this laughing and saying to himself.. i play in front of 60 thousand plus fans, i fly planes and i have my own way of getting the fans to scream for me..
Didn't Paul leave the band? The touring life isn't for everyone. I worked the European festival circuit as a tour manager for a Brit pop band back in the day and it nearly killed me... that was one summer... the pace at which Maiden have toured and the workload Harris and the management team schedule means that physical fitness and health are really really important. In order to play the tours, the relentless schedule and sing Maiden songs with the 2 hour sets takes exceptional physical fitness... Bruce had/has it.. Paul, with his demons didn't I should imagine that Bruce's background (upper middle class, Public boarding school etc,) probably winds Paul up no end.
Paul Dianno has some great work with Iron Maiden as well as Bruce Dickenson. I love the fuck outta both of it not one more than the other. This makes me a true fan in the since and not an internet troll. I only wish you would have recorded the rest of the song at least. Dianna had every right to tote that stupid hecklers ass all day long. UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!
Paul is a Hells Angel also, so if you know anything about the outlaw world you dont disrespect a Hells Angel. Especially a hard core European Angel. just sayin
" Bruce is the best iron maiden singer" He said that in Iron Maiden Early Days. Paul is only a looser making pubs tours singing the old iron maiden songs. (Sorry for my bad english) Cheers from Argentina
Todos los Giles acá diciendo que Bruce no tiene voz para cantar metal, me imagino que Judas es una pija también ya que su cantante tampoco tiene la voz de un reventado tomador de wisky
+Ifyouarenotintometalyouarenotmyfriend The sadest part by DiAnno is that he never detached from the Maiden stuff and songs if he wanted to bitch at them, specially Bruce. He should have been more polite using his maiden past positively and ignore the drunk Bruceliebers assholes in their live performances.
Paul is now just one fat old man who sings in pubs and open mics. That shit bag would have a cardiac arrest if he even thinks of Run to the Hills or Aces High... This old sack is good for nothing but throw shit at singers better than him.
Adrian Shephard - well, as a real fan it's unfortunate Iron Maiden has to just play hits all the time… I agree with Bruce on that one! Every single concert is 70% the same songs… That's not healthy.
A very unfortunate situation for everyone involved. Making a joke in a language you don't really speak is very awkward. Especially as everyone knew that Paul immediately freaks out at the subject of Iron Maiden and doesn't say a good word about his former band. I saw Di'Anno live in Wacken in the early 0s and 80% of his announcements were just about how shitty Iron Maiden is. The man carried around a huge grudge for decades. Thanks for 2 great albums though. Rock in peace Paul.🤘🏼
Classic Paul, I saw Maiden w/ Paul on the Killers tour in the U.S. The 1st two Maiden records drew me to become a Maiden fan. I've always liked Paul's raw vocal style. Remember Maiden fans, before Bruce and Nicko, Paul DiAnno and Clive Burr (R.I.P.) helped put Maiden on the map.
Paul Di Anno blew it, he should have just said, "Those guys are great friends of mine, enjoyed being in that band, And Bruce is a great singer but not my style, I'm here doing what I love most, punk rock. If you want to hear Bruce you got a ticket to the wrong gig."
Exactly! Paul could have handled it in a professional manner...but he’s sadly not very professional and chooses hard man posturing and violence rather than subtlety
You’ll always get the odd drunken asshole when you’re past your prime and playing small gigs like this. He should have ignored it and just carried on “never argue with a fool as they’ll win due to experience “ or used the old Agree and Absurdify ploy
“Bruce, yeah! He’s out the back...parking the van. Come on lads 1,2,3,4!”
Then this video would have been a lot less fun...
Oh fuck you!
He was probably high on charlie
Yeah and then they'd all go and drink rainbow juice on gumdrop mountain and dance in a circle all holding hands together ffs
Bruce Dickinson rips up sign at Iron Maiden concert
At least Paul Di'Anno was provoked by a mouthy fan.

@@osbrax that's Bruce alright, he would do something like that
The poor guy in the crowd was trying to make a harmless joke about the microphone stand that kept slipping down during the show...
Simply saying that it is now the right height for Bruce Dickinson as he isn't very tall :-) You can hear the frustration in the guys voice as he tries to find the words to explain but the singer wouldn't let him speak :-(
You even hear his friend say "height for Bruce Dickinson."
Yep... Even Bruce himself would have laughed at that lighthearted joke :-)
That's the wisdom of making a joke in a language you barely speak...
bruce d sucks with his opera theres no maiden enymore.
3 years later he did the "height for Bruce Dickinson." joke and wished him well for his fight against Cancer.
The English language sucks... hahahaha. I know. I felt the pain in the fan's voice too. Oh, boy. Oh, well. I hope Paul didn't really kick this guy's butt, though. lol
Sometimes it is better to live in the past and just stare at the album sleeves and ignore youtube exists.
Paul Di'anno reminds me of someone who still has pictures of their ex on their phone and tries to relive them days but can't.

@Cardinal Ximenez well said.
I think so too.....kicked off the band for drugs and alcohol he spite in the dish where now is eating.....
Its true, but not cool.
RIP PAUL. We will always remember you brother.
Paul says he doesn’t sing “opera” yet he wrote the song “Phantom of the Opera.”The hypocrisy. lol

Nothing to do with that. Shouting trite questions about arena rock celebrities is not what makes a club gig great. DiAnno still giving it all in "Phantom of the Opera" is.
GrayWoIf I like Di Anno, but he screwed himself in that deal, he needs to it go along with all that weight he's put on on.
Yet, if you went to a Megadeth concert and yelled "Kirk Hammet" at his face, I don't think he'd be nice and kind to you.

Oh no! You are gonna make those Paul fans angry. And their rude and dangerous...Just liked their washed up idle.
Paul is now just one fat old man who sings in pubs and open mics. That shit bag would have a cardiac arrest if he even thinks of Run to the Hills or Aces High... This old sack is good for nothing but throw shit at singers better than him.
🤓
Watching this, I can never understand why Maiden fired this guy.

Mr. Veteran
Because Dianno More Punk than Maiden
+Kopral Jono - Nope. He was fired because due to drugs abuse he was unable to go and sing at the concerts. Paul DiAnno is the best singer of heavy metal. All the specialities. He is the real singer of Iron Maiden and should have stayed forever there. We can only regret that he is a wasted talent, wasted best voice for Iron Maiden.

I’m a huge Dianno fan, and the first two Maiden albums are my favorite-that being said, Paul was a bit of an asshole hear. I feel he reacted to hearing Bruce’s name without having any idea of what the kid said.

The only reason why Iron Maiden kicked out Paul is because he got such a big drug and alcohol addiction that his live performance started inhibiting. Even look at some of Harris's and Murray's interviews, they say it themselves
why go to the mans show and holler out "Bruce Dickinson"?

Bruces isn't gay, and has an amazing vocal range for metal, having said I love the raw sound of Di'Anno as well. To me Bruce is the voice of Iron Mainden though, just as much as Steve Harris is their heart.
I class Bruce as gay!
Robert Goelzer O.K., I agree it was a stupid reaction from the fan to doing this - you just can't go
to a concert and scream about the "rival" singer in the face of the performing singer, but you know, you don't
have to feel bad about me - better feel bad about Di'anno....
So bad. They had to toss him out. He was all screwed up on drugs and booze.
But HE didn’t get along with the band & was going to a different direction. Everybody knew he fit the band but he decided to leave instead.

Paul can't speak Russian, so he couldn't explain, and like a fool started running away
XD
lmao
thanks man, thats given me a giggle tonight!
Haha good one...
Bruce's reaction after seeing this video:
.....meh.....poor guy.....
Agree, and Dianno has too much of a punk vibe for Steve to handle
Paul doesn't sing opera, he is not ballerina like Bruce xD
szymikon1980 Please tell me you're not serious.
Maiden went from hamburger to filet mignon when they got Bruce Dickinson.
i don´t think is wise to scream out another artist´s name at a concert. the same would happen if i scream "paul dianno" at dickinson. if i´d go see paul is because i remember his first two albums with maiden and give him all the credit he´s entitled to. he was going through rough times with drugs when he separated and in an interview he says that he just couldn´t keep up on tour with maiden. drugs kill, and before you know it you´ve lost everything.
This is what made Iron Maiden famous."
Uh, no Paul.
1. You only wrote the lyrics. You've never really contributed anything musically for Maiden. It was all Steve Harris.
2. Running Free was far from the song that made Maiden "famous".
It actually was one of the songs that made iron maiden famous. Running free, Phantom of the opera, Wrathchild....
@@MrVepe47 Wrong, wrong and wrong... The songs that made Iron Maiden famous were Hallowed be thy name, The number of the Beast and Run to the Hills...
@@adamhendrickson512 define fame? I mean they were already doing great on the first 2 albums aka also add the sound house tapes, which had sold massively they did bit the stratosphere by number of the beast but they were already on their way there when Paul was in the band.
Then why does Bruce sing Paul's songs for Maiden? If Paul didn't have anything to do with putting Iron Maiden on the map, why sing his songs?
This is so disappointing. Paul was amazing in Maiden. Life can be very unfair, but no need to make it worse!
he did cocaine 24/7 and quit because he was not as good as the other. left by himself for the good of the band. good for him.
@@christineblack4654 No he wasn't. Steve kicked him out. And rightly so...
It was funny to watch. What has happened to the old sense of humour. Today people take things far to seriously. Lighten up people. It is good to have a good laugh.
How is it unfair to be responsible for your own choices?
Paul Di Anno failed at life, never mind failing as a singer.
he did not fail, he was in Iron Maiden for a good moment.
@@alexandredesmonts35 yeah. Four whole years out of Iron Maiden’s 46 year long career
The first maiden albums were great, but Paul was a clown and it was the best decision to drop him at the time.
Dianno is Dianno and Bruce is Bruce who dont understand that is not a Maiden fan
"This song made Iron Maiden famous, I wrote Running Free." Never knew Paul was a comedian. LOL
He wrote it with Steve Harris. anyone wanna bet who had the most input ?
He is right about making Iron Maiden famous. They even ended up on top of the pops with the song.
Being on T O T P helped their career a bit.
During a long period of time they always played the song live.
The entire first album made them famous...It's the best one by far...
Meanwhile,At 38,000 feet in Ed Force One,Bruce is smiling!
1981
Rod smallwood to Steve Harris :" anything about the guys in the band there might be a problem with ?"
Steve : "there might be an issue with the singers behavior "
Indeed !
(taken from the book on maiden by martin popoff)
I've heard Paul say that Bruce is the best singer Maiden ever had so idk....?
Spanish shame both for Di'Anno and that Russian:-/.....I believe Paul is just a showman for this case.
well bruce isn't the original singer for iron maiden but since bruce joined iron maiden became extremely known by everyone, plus bruce's voice is just orgasmic and it can vary for lots of genres but paul do have his own uniqueness, his voice sounds more 70's ish rather than a metal voice he would sing good in deep purple songs (my views) but still no one could top off bruce's onstage performance, i mean di'anno would never run around the stage singing like a thespian, so BRUCE WINS
Paul and Bruce rules !!! Both are great !!! Both are Legends !!!
Well, I now hate Paul Di Anno.
He sucks! hes playing night clubs... and Bruce is still selling out Stadiums!!!
fuck paul dianno
+loopy Ruane great use of grammar, congrats!
Yep what a wanker.
he's a whore
Iron Maiden is heavy metal not fuckin punk
"I'm not an opera singer and I'm not gay". Some of us saw you and heard you in the old days, Paul.
Well do you think Steve and Bruce are gay? They all had that kind of clothes.
1:35 "And im not gay"
And just when he couldnt fit anymore of his foot in his mouth.....
and Bruce Dickinson is watching this laughing and saying to himself.. i play in front of 60 thousand plus fans, i fly planes and i have my own way of getting the fans to scream for me..
Paul, with his demons didn't
I should imagine that Bruce's background (upper middle class, Public boarding school etc,) probably winds Paul up no end.
I don't care that he's an asshole, RIP was true punk vocalist
Paul Dianno has some great work with Iron Maiden as well as Bruce Dickenson. I love the fuck outta both of it not one more than the other. This makes me a true fan in the since and not an internet troll. I only wish you would have recorded the rest of the song at least. Dianna had every right to tote that stupid hecklers ass all day long. UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!
Tell it like it is brother, fuck these other posers
I like Bruce better but that guy shouldn't have heckled Paul.
1:30 yeah, too easy 20 octaves down 😂
he misunderstood the joke. We love him anyways:)
Bitter old man.
Paul is now just one fat old man who sings in pubs and open mics. That shit bag would have a cardiac arrest if he even thinks of Run to the Hills or Aces High... This old sack is good for nothing but throw shit at singers better than him.
Adam Covers Shut the fuck up you fucking bell end
@@adamhendrickson512 oh so Brice Dickinson can rip up a sign saying play the hits, but Paul Dianno is the dick?
@@adrianshephard378 Yeah,Bruce Dickinson may be a little bit of a dick, but Paul Dianno is even more of a dick.
Adrian Shephard - well, as a real fan it's unfortunate Iron Maiden has to just play hits all the time… I agree with Bruce on that one! Every single concert is 70% the same songs… That's not healthy.
Every time i watch this I wonder if he’ll seem like less of a prick.
Nope.
Not at all.
This is tragic. I feel sorry for him. Look at what IM have achieved without him.
Dear Paul, Tell me who's playing at full stadiums and who's playing at 100 people pubs...
God u wouldn't think dat Di'Anno is 56 years old he is in such great shape for his age I don't know how he does it.
Classic Paul, I saw Maiden w/ Paul on the Killers tour in the U.S. The 1st two Maiden records drew me to become a Maiden fan. I've always liked Paul's raw vocal style. Remember Maiden fans, before Bruce and Nicko, Paul DiAnno and Clive Burr (R.I.P.) helped put Maiden on the map.
bruce dickenson sings paul dianno songs all the time;but i don't think dianno has got the range to sing bruce songs...
“And I’m not gay……”😜😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
