    I just discovered that Peter very sadly passed away this summer, so I am going through some of his “greatest hits” to remember him. Thank you Peter for countless hours of entertainment and information. May you Rest In Peace.

    My 1978 Klipschorns are also capable of sounding absolutely incredible. I do have to note that the room is important and the upstream components need to be good, but get these parts right and you won't believe just how amazing these can sound. Components don't necessarily have to be incredibly expensive, just pick wisely. I've run them off of a very modest AVR with ho-hum results. Got outstanding results with a Wright Sound Company 2A3 Monoblock Single Ended Triode (SET) putting out 3.5 watts/channel and a Juicy Music Audio original Peach preamplifier. Demoed this setup to an audiophile who had never heard them and was told they sounded better than his friends $100k Wilson Audio system. I was not surprised. He offered to buy my entire system, down to the speaker wire and interconnects (very modest as well). Warning: this type of performance can be detrimental to your sleep!

      Yes, Thanks. I always wonder how these top drawer speakers pair with modest avr gear. Sounds like a person would need to upgrade their system to bear the fruit.

    Wow. I’m not sure what’s different about this recording (the K-Horns and the gear or your recording equipment) but this is one of the best TH-cam demos I’ve heard. Just sounded effortless and holographic. I’ve heard K-horns once in my life at Custom Audio and Video in Little Rock, AR. Being just up the road from Hope, they were THE Klipsch dealer in Arkansas. I have Quartets but K-Horns are a lifelong goal.

    I'm amazed. I'm sitting and listening to this on a pair of 2006 (diamond jubilee) Klipschorns in the UK (with beautiful piano black tops) and I can honestly hear what my speakers sound like coming out of your speakers! I love your 'history of audio' tour which must have given you so much pleasure over the years. Thank you for sharing it with us.

    Outstanding tour and demo. I have the Heresy’s and often wondered how the Klipschorns sound I thought that they would overwhelm a smaller listening area but even at low listening levels in your studio they sound fantastic. Thanks.

    This Man is a total space cadet geek for HiFi. And, I completely Dig it!
    He is the Ultimate “So I know this Guy…”
    Would love to hang out with him at this Ultimate Man Cave, Candy Store, Museum, Shop, Store, kick it pad. Wow!!
    EDIT: In no way shape or form do I want to hang out with him at his shop. Way too convincing, knowledgeable and charismatic. I would be draining my bank accounts, mortgaging and selling everything before the sun went down. He has way too much of that “It’s the only one, super special, deal of a lifetime of you could find it”.

    Hey Peter Thank You for the great tour, and listening session. I watched, and listened to this on my main system. I would take any of those turntables. Love those big beautiful plinths. I wish that showroom was my listening room. Lots of detail in the music, big sound stage. Beautiful music. Have a great day!

    You can't go wrong with these speakers, a good tube amp and an analog source. They're far from truth and precision but, the further they are from these, the closer they get to the surrealistically beautiful. They're larger than (or...like) life and you can always enjoy your music with these, no matter what. You can trust them for constant musical satisfaction. I suspect the pleasing to the ear effect is mainly due to two stages of a beautifully done, natural form of compression: One, the vinyl trough and two, the horns. Anyway, they do have something that takes them beyond any possible criticism: They never let you miss anything important in your music. Even more, they augment it! A real treat to our ever-aging ears. Congrats to our gentle, audiovisual hosts.

    Hey Peter I live in the UK and I'm getting a pair of those. AK5's. But I reckon with Ricky Schultzs high fidelity cables and conditioners the sound will be incredible . I've just purchased a Benckmark pre head phone amp. I can't wait. Hell I may even run the Klipsch off the head phone output at 9 watts into 8 ohms

    Rehdéko RK 115 in the entrance room - just stunning !!! (Not the Reson versions - the original french edition) - The Reson edition is more vivid and faster, more attack, but very difficult to drive - only DNM gear can deliver that - for me as a livemusic junkie, the legendary Rehdéko-Speakers are by far the best ever made. Nothing else can matched their live-feeling.

    Great video. The sound is so good one could be forgiven for thinking the tracks were uploaded to the video rather than captured in a room by mic. Just incredibly effortless. Pretty incredible compared to most videos I have heard. Can you (or Robin) comment briefly on the essential differences between these AK6s, the La Scala AL5s, and the Cornwall IVs in terms of sound and system considerations? No full review necessary. Thanks very much indeed.

    • @naturalverities
      @naturalverities 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeffrey, the K-horns of course have a folded horn bottom end, which results in sonorous bass with very little distortion, a big plus. But the horn is long, good for low bass but not so much for low midrange, so the mid horns have to take up the slack at a lower than typical crossover frequency. And the big difference in bass and mid horn lengths creates some timing issues at crossover that may be detrimental with some program material. Consider also that by design the K-horns must live in corners or have false-corners to complete the horn sidewalls. Based on my experience, I would recommend that you stick with your Cornwalls and spend some money on actively triamplifying them and burnishing their voicing with some DSP equalization. The results I'm getting with my Cornwall-like DIY speakers and active multiamping are beyond all my expectations, especially in the area of uncanny pinpoint imaging and soundstage depth. And I think they sound sweeter than these K-horns---if this recording is a faithful representation---but still very lively.

      Those speakers are 105 dB sensitive. Horn bass is very fast and controlled I believe, and most of the impact of it is probably lost via a mic.

    This is wrong Tannoy have been in production for over 90 years and their speakers are to die for and of course more expensive. If you can't afford a Tannoy go for a Klipsch they're not a close second but they do sound good for the money
