I live in Phoenix and over the years since I moved here in 1988 I seen Phoenix Fire do awesome work, whether it be in an ambulance or the fire trucks. This department is top notch! They also responded countless times to the county jails where I worked to assist us in saving lives or treating medical emergencies. I have seen nothing but professionalism with the fire fighters and paramedics I have worked beside. One day I had smelt a natural gas leak on the south side of the house. I called the non-emergency number requesting a truck to come check it out. Well I live two blocks in Phoenix, right next to Glendale. I had a truck from Phoenix and another truck from Glendale coming down the street with lights and siren. Glendale Fire is also as good and both worked to identify where a leak was coming from. They called out Southwest Gas after detecting the odor. My home was gone through with a fine tooth comb before they released it back into my hands. Both knew my anxiety about my property and treated me as I would expect. I feel very blessed to have these two fire departments at the ready if I should need them. Because I have hardened my home against unwanted intruders I will have to ensure they have a key in order to not damage the house if they need emergency entry. Along with the fire departments, both police departments are very professional as well, and I will entrust a key to my home for their departments should they need entry!! I have never worked for the 4 departments, instead I worked as a detention officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and had regular contact with all 4 departments, always professional and caring!!! If you read this long paragraph, remember these folks want to go home safe at the end of their shifts!!! Thank them when you see them!!
she did the hard work in the academy (seen more than a few kids of current firefighters not make that physically demanding cut)- Mom was just an inspiration to never give up. No favoritism when lives hang in the balance. But as always Firefighters appreciate folks comments.

I'm sure it helps having your mom be on the department to get on with the department
It can help yes, but not a requirement

Seriously?
You have female firefighters in the US????
And i thought a Fire Department is there to help people in need.
Not to put them in danger
Free country troll, no wonder you were denied citizenship!
You clearly have not dealt with a strong, physically capable female 🫥🙄 ....i'm embarrassed for you
