The way i imagine this is the three of them singing in their rooms: -Mirabell's scenario is functionally the same -Isabella reframes the song as she wanting to do something new but not being allowed to, being scared of what life's gonna be when she marries Mariano -Finally Camilo would repurpose the song as a way to express his lack of a defined identity, he'd be constantly shape shifting and the in "open your eyes" line he'd shift back to himself and yell in the mirror, frustrated of not knowing who he is and implying he thinks he should know that by now
Oh God I almost cried just hearing Camilo. The fact that he's the only one who still didn't overcame his identity issues give me hopes for him to get a spinoff, either with multiple episodes or like Ciao Alberto it's fine, I just need something about Pepa and Felix side of the family/Camilo and Antonio interaction because they are adorable (when Camilo tried to calm Antonio I was melting of cuteness) or more of Pepa and Felix amazing relationship, or just a bit of Dolores is fine too. She got way more expressive towards end movie and I love it. If Camilo was the MC of a possible new show with a good amount of screen time for his family too that would be amazing. Well, the point is that I need something with Camilo as MC and with his family more present XD I mean, after all he still have a bit of a problem which wasn't fixed in the movie, maybe they were planning to keep this for a different thing instead of using it on the movie. Damn you Camilo, you made me cry
I like to think Camilo learned to love himself by who he is after he lost his gift. When they get their gifts back, you see everyone happy and using their gift for fun, but you don't see Camilo shape-shifting. He probably felt like he didn't need the power as much anymore. (idk if you see what I mean)

Towards the end except Antonio no one of the family used their power just because it wasn't necessary. Losing his power can't really magically make him feel better, it's more on the psychological side and it need more than just being implied in general. Camilo identity issues aren't mentioned in the movie, it you don't search it you can't even know about it that's why I don't believe he doesn't have identity issues anymore. We never knew of it through the movie so how can he overcome something we didn't even know he had? I can understand not having time to put everything in the movie, but that would be just a lame excuse to fix everything to be honest. The movie was so good and then they fix Camilo identity issues without even making understand or imply he have them in the first place making him look like one of the few members without any issue at all? I think you too can see where I'm trying to go with this, even if it's solved towards the end of the movie it's literally like it never happened because there's no mention of it in the first place, he can't overcome something that wasn't even mentioned.
I would’ve liked to have seen Camilo as more of a main character. He would always follow Mirabel and they would have moments to talk about who they are. The magic still doesn’t stop the cracks. So Camilo shapeshifts into himself and Mirabel instantly embraces him. The cracks stop for a bit. It is at this point where Camilo remembers his identity.
Honestly I really agree with this, like dude they made him have so much potential but then give him like 7 minutes of screen time? I know they had plans for him and they dropped it but like- I kinda wish there was more to him.

This is really good! I think the only thing I would have done would have the vocals come in one at a time during the "open your eyes!" part rather than a duet. Mirabel -> Isabela -> Camilo (He would be last because your VC for him is so good at belting out lyrics) Seriously though, this is amazing!

Screw it im not an animator but I can describe what I imagine: 0:00- The scene starts with the screen divided in 3. We see Mirabel, Isabela and Camilo all shut the door of their respective rooms. 0:29- Mirabel takes a photo frame of the familly and stares at it 0:35- They all lean with their backs on the walls and fall to the ground. 0:38- Mirabel's room warps into a dimly lit casita, she's standing on the kitchen and all of her familly members (part of the fantasy, not their actual selfs) are posing like perfect figures all around the house. In this scene she goes next to Luisa and then exits to the corridor where Isabela is frozen at the door, smiling in a perfect practiced pose. 0:46- Camilo's room warps into a dark void, he's standing in the middle with a spotlight shining on him and mirrors all around. He shapeshifts into his dad and desperatly looks at himself in one of the mirrors. 0:50- Isabela looks up to realize that the flowers in her room start to turn a dark red with hints of black, the previously constant sunlight now changes into a yellow moon. Camilo turns back into himself. 0:53- Mirabel exits the casita and goes to the plaza where she sees her mom frozen in place, posing like she's feeding an arepa to a hurt villager, she then follows to the fields, going next to Pepa who is standing still but frozen in a happy spining pose 1:01- Isabella feels vines wrap around her feet and reaches her hand to the sky. 1:09- The scene changes once again. This time Isabella's walking through the village, a trail of flowers behind her and several adoring villagers around her, but they're covered in shadow as only a sharp spotlight is shining on Isabella and Isabella alone. 1:11- Camilo shapeshifts into his parents, his grandma, his sister, his uncle and his aunt, going from one mirror to another in desperation to find something that fits. 1:16- Mirabel rushes back and faces casita, night has fallen and a spotlight shines on it, the whole familly is standing at the open door. 1:20- Camilo turns into himself and looks up to see sillouettes of all his relatives surrounding him. He falls to his knees and yells to the skies. 1:25- Isabela, still walking alone but surrounded by people, glances at a cactus in the distance; Camilo looks at the ground 1:27- Camilo slams his fist against the floor and Mirabel implores at the familly. 1:31- Mirabel runs and aproaches the familly, Isabela breaks free from the walking route and turns back to the people that were following her, Camilo stands up and looks at himself in a mirror. 1:35- Mirabel yells at Abuela to open her eyes and see what Mirabel can be; Camilo yells at himself in the mirror to open his eyes and realize what he wants to be already 1:38- Isabella yells at the crowd to open their eyes and realize that there's more than just the perfect pretty girl. 1:43- Mirabel enters casita running, all its objects are shining a yellow light, she runs through the corridor and up the staircase. 1:51- Camilo looks at all the mirrors that spin around him, he shapeshifts into everyone he can but there's not a single reflection, it's like he's not even there. 1:53- Isabela runs from the crowd and stops, looking at all the roads in front of her. 1:59- Mirabel runs through the second floor of the casita, passing through the bedrooms 2:01- Mirabel stops in front of the staircase, Isabela falls in a world full of dark flowers and vines wrap around her arms and legs. 2:06- Isabela falls to her knees and looks at her polen-covered hands. 2:10- They all get up and a magical shining yellow pathway opens in front of them. 2:13- They all run through the pathways leading to the three of them meeting in the middle, around abuela, who's frozen like in a photograph. 2:20- They all walk around her in a circle, imploring to be blessed. 2:30- The world fades back to reality and they're all again in their seperate rooms, leaning against the wall and fall to the ground, looking down at their knees. 2:39- The screen fades too black and the number ends This took me an entire hour to write, if anyone wants to make an animatic please do I'd love to see it (but credit me lol)

Idk about y’all but Stephanie did an amazing job with the vocals. I could hear the sadness and her emotions being expressed as she sang. Lin did a wonderful job with the songs and made this one my favourite

Imagine if this was used in a stage musical version as a darker reprise before and/or after both Ida and Camilo lose their gifts and Mira’s trying to get the candle. You would of course change some of the lyrics to better fit Isa and Camilo so they can sing more and at the end when casita is gone they all go “We are too late for a miracle.”

I really love it thanks for this. my own takeaways on this: Mirabel - being out of place and not seen because thinking that having a gift is a requirement being part of something special Isabela - Heavy expectation for being part of something special and expected to be the perfect example and representation of that something special Camilo - Being part of something special, but still not enough to be really special because cant find the exact fit. It's like in our society, there are those outside the norm that just wanting to be part not knowing it's okay to be different and treated badly for being different. Those on the top that always have to show off and maintain perfection not to disappoint others that looks up to them and those in average or low who are part of the norm in the society , good in every aspect but was not given any attention because they are not best on any. Always Remember that Miracle is you, not the gift, not the talent, not what you dont have, it's you ☺️

Even if Camilo's part was not actually a character cover, it is still very fitting for Camilo himself. It obviously doesn't sound like his actual singing voice but I feel like it's totally in his character to belt out, unafraid of feeling free through his voice!

Screw it im not an animator but I can describe what I imagine:
0:00- The scene starts with the screen divided in 3. We see Mirabel, Isabela and Camilo all shut the door of their respective rooms.
0:29- Mirabel takes a photo frame of the familly and stares at it
0:35- They all lean with their backs on the walls and fall to the ground.
0:38- Mirabel's room warps into a dimly lit casita, she's standing on the kitchen and all of her familly members (part of the fantasy, not their actual selfs) are posing like perfect figures all around the house. In this scene she goes next to Luisa and then exits to the corridor where Isabela is frozen at the door, smiling in a perfect practiced pose.
0:46- Camilo's room warps into a dark void, he's standing in the middle with a spotlight shining on him and mirrors all around. He shapeshifts into his dad and desperatly looks at himself in one of the mirrors.
0:50- Isabela looks up to realize that the flowers in her room start to turn a dark red with hints of black, the previously constant sunlight now changes into a yellow moon. Camilo turns back into himself.
0:53- Mirabel exits the casita and goes to the plaza where she sees her mom frozen in place, posing like she's feeding an arepa to a hurt villager, she then follows to the fields, going next to Pepa who is standing still but frozen in a happy spining pose
1:01- Isabella feels vines wrap around her feet and reaches her hand to the sky.
1:09- The scene changes once again. This time Isabella's walking through the village, a trail of flowers behind her and several adoring villagers around her, but they're covered in shadow as only a sharp spotlight is shining on Isabella and Isabella alone.
1:11- Camilo shapeshifts into his parents, his grandma, his sister, his uncle and his aunt, going from one mirror to another in desperation to find something that fits.
1:16- Mirabel rushes back and faces casita, night has fallen and a spotlight shines on it, the whole familly is standing at the open door.
1:20- Camilo turns into himself and looks up to see sillouettes of all his relatives surrounding him. He falls to his knees and yells to the skies.
1:25- Isabela, still walking alone but surrounded by people, glances at a cactus in the distance; Camilo looks at the ground
1:27- Camilo slams his fist against the floor and Mirabel implores at the familly.
1:31- Mirabel runs and aproaches the familly, Isabela breaks free from the walking route and turns back to the people that were following her, Camilo stands up and looks at himself in a mirror.
1:35- Mirabel yells at Abuela to open her eyes and see what Mirabel can be; Camilo yells at himself in the mirror to open his eyes and realize what he wants to be already
1:38- Isabella yells at the crowd to open their eyes and realize that there's more than just the perfect pretty girl.
1:43- Mirabel enters casita running, all its objects are shining a yellow light, she runs through the corridor and up the staircase.
1:51- Camilo looks at all the mirrors that spin around him, he shapeshifts into everyone he can but there's not a single reflection, it's like he's not even there.
1:53- Isabela runs from the crowd and stops, looking at all the roads in front of her.
1:59- Mirabel runs through the second floor of the casita, passing through the bedrooms
2:01- Mirabel stops in front of the staircase, Isabela falls in a world full of dark flowers and vines wrap around her arms and legs.
2:06- Isabela falls to her knees and looks at her polen-covered hands.
2:10- They all get up and a magical shining yellow pathway opens in front of them.
2:13- They all run through the pathways leading to the three of them meeting in the middle, around abuela, who's frozen like in a photograph.
2:20- They all walk around her in a circle, imploring to be blessed.
2:30- The world fades back to reality and they're all again in their seperate rooms, leaning against the wall and fall to the ground, looking down at their knees.
2:39- The screen fades too black and the number ends
This took me an entire hour to write, if anyone wants to make an animatic please do I'd love to see it (but credit me lol)

Imagine if this was used in a stage musical version as a darker reprise before and/or after both Ida and Camilo lose their gifts and Mira’s trying to get the candle. Mirabel - being out of place and not seen because thinking that having a gift is a requirement being part of something special
Isabela - Heavy expectation for being part of something special and expected to be the perfect example and representation of that something special
Camilo - Being part of something special, but still not enough to be really special because cant find the exact fit.
It's like in our society, there are those outside the norm that just wanting to be part not knowing it's okay to be different and treated badly for being different. Those on the top that always have to show off and maintain perfection not to disappoint others that looks up to them and those in average or low who are part of the norm in the society , good in every aspect but was not given any attention because they are not best on any.
