Beautiful... so beautiful.... "I love you for all that you are, and with all that I am." Belle oh, my.... what a wonderful and true story of endurance and love....
it's so weird that they make Lady Elizabeth Poor! Her father is to inherit kenwood and everything, as if he wasn't rich enough, he was 6th Viscount Stormont, his home Scone Palace is far more luxurious than kenwood, he also was given desk by Marie Antoinette. Lady Elizabeth dowry is between 17000 - 30000 pound, she is basically daphne Bridgerton.
more fact dido was left nothing by her father, and the uncle only left her £500 pound and £100 annuity upon his death. Lady Elizabeth was the only child from the Viscount first marriage to Countess Frederikke Henriette von Bünau, her mother was a widow, previously married to Frederik Berregaard, her mother inherited quite a fortune from her late husband and all her dowry intact. with her mother died its unclear if her father the viscount retain all her mother's fortune, but it is traditional to give her dowry to their daughter Elizabeth. we know from some source Lady Elizabeth upon marrying received £10000 pound from uncle + £7000 pound from her father. when lord mansfield died, she received additional £10000 pound, Lady Elizabeth and her husband also received several properties from her aunt Lady Anne and Lady margaery murray. Lady Elizabeth Murray is far far far richer than dido
They were actually incredibly kind to her. Given the constraints of the day they tried to be as frank as possible. It's better to be honest so that everyone knows where things stand.
The duties they gave her where duties they would would have given any daughter. It was considered the ladys responsibility to run the the household though in the movie the show it as a bad thing in reality it would have been considered an honor and sign of their respect for her by granting her what was considered a gentile responsibility and pastime.
in reality she was neither though, she is in charge of poultry yard etc. again it is popular but they just want to keep her out of sight. the movie conveniently erased 2 aunts living there, the 2 aunt was Elizabeth's aunt and nieces to the lord of the house. so the house will contain 2 aunt ( Anne and Marjory), lady Mansfield, lord Mansfield, dido and Elizabeth. in recent discoveries Elizabeth father regularly visited kenwood with ELIZABETH stepmom and half brothers, actually the eldest son was regularly educated at kenwood infact he might even stay there with Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Dido both are grand niece to the lord
God this was hard to watch. I appreciated how they worded it differently to each girl, however cinematic that may have been. Her Uncle tried to make her see that her cousin was equally as powerless as she due to being a woman. Elizabeth's fate was only ever to be married off and then to be the responsibility of her husband. By giving her a position they were ensuring Belle always had a place in the home, however humiliating she may have found it.
false... LADY Elizabeth was the heiress in real life, she never had to marry, she was rich and her father would own this house when lord Mansfield died, and Dido would be kicked out of the house
She got some blood but treating as a maid. shouldve change her position into a maid because how dare shes darker and asks to go out and find some royal husband. Unbeliveble reality

This movie is powerful

I need to watch this movie. The trailers are making me tear up a bit.
Its kind of heartwarming, they just want to protect her from being taken advantage of.

Dido eventually married a servant/ valet John daveneire ( yes irl he wasn't lawyer but a servant), after dido died he work hard and become a steward
I almost cried at this part

uh no! Dido is first black aristocrat with huge fortune she is heiress in her own right

It was considered the ladys responsibility to run the the household though in the movie the show it as a bad thing in reality it would have been considered an honor and sign of their respect for her by granting her what was considered a gentile responsibility and pastime.
But she understood they were doing it, while out of love and concern, as a way to hide her away and put her on the fringes of society
in reality she was neither though, she is in charge of poultry yard etc. again it is popular but they just want to keep her out of sight.

It's so sad to know this still exists. 😬
it's sad to know black are fantasizing white culture

The right honourable Mary ( they miscalled her as Lady Mary) was the Viscount sister.. basically daphne bridgertón.
she was not unwanted maid
she is illegitimate and daughter of a slve, no respectable gentleman would go near her much less a royal one
