Weems, I’m glad to see that you work with your bare hands. I know there are times for the gloves, but not always. Most of the time I do not wear gloves as some of the “younger generation” do. lol
Hey Weems. Knowing what you know about Triumphs I think the company should sponsor you, put you on the payroll, an make you a spokesman. Sir you are a wealth of information !

It didn't know about the slick shifter, that's interesting. So no gasket on the inner gear box cover on the pre-unit bikes? Will it throw off the clearances if you use one? As far as using the 71 gear cluster, at least the next guy will have these videos to reference. Do you have a shop manual or notebook for each bike that you jot this stuff down in? Something that goes to the next owner? That's what I try to do. Make note of jet sizes, any mods or changes i've made to the bike... or anything odd I've found that doesn't seem to match up to the manual. Sometimes doing the detective work to figure out what the previous owner did can be fun though. Sometimes not.
I'm confused. When you were breaking down the "Frankenstein" gearbox, the main housing appeared to have a pronounced weld bead across it...and...the inner gear box end cover had a hardware store wire rope splicer (U bolt type) mounted on top, presumably to replace a missing clutch cable mount. When you assembled the gear box on day 2, I could not see the weld on the main housing, and the missing clutch cable mount on the inner end cover had reappeared. Am I missing something here...or is it just camera magic?
Jared! As usual your video is very entertaining and informative. Just 1 question. What's with the 70's porn music in the background? It's actually annoying!
Triumph making quick shift systems before they were cool!
You know it!!!

Dave, Great idea! I should start doing this!
Could you braise the old gear to fix the tooth and file it down?
That is possible!
Is that oil or sealant between the cases?
We use sealant between the cases on reassembly.

Great Eye! I was able to source a new housing and inner cover from my stash of parts!
Couldn’t you turn down the larger shaft if you had to?
I could!
You forgot something. 🙀
JK 😉😂🤣
LoL, you almost got me there!

Sorry about that! I pick a music style for each video and feature tracks throughout the videos.

Thanks Mick!
