What a monster. He's giving away all our secrets. Whatever you do, don't watch this video and learn these amazing tips. I can barely stay in the top 10 in any chatguessr stream as it is. :) Seriously great addition to a growing library of GG knowledge.
The Thai alphabet is usually identifiable by the small circles all over it. Cambodian and Sri Lankan are similar, but Cambodian is more "loopy" and Sri Lankan is more "round".
Thai/Lao script usually has lots of small circles on each character. Burmese has a lot of big curves that sweep around the character. If the script looks similar but doesn’t have those characteristics, it’s probably a Dravidian script in southern India/Sri Lanka.
@@GeoPeter I can set it horizontally with the red end to the left or the red end to the right. These will give opposite results. Your explanation doesn't say which one I should use. I liked the rest of the video and thumbed it up though... thanks very much.
The way I tell them apart though is that on NZ street signs if you have a study of the NZ map, they have way more Maori names for places and roads (indigenous language wors ending in -oa, -ea, -ona, -ki, -ka). You generally don't see this in Australia as the streets/roads/places tend to be Anglo. The mountains usually give it away though. Another tip is that pretty much all warning signs in Aus use the yellow diamond - NZ use these too but NZ uses blue signs with an arrow, which Aus does not.
That thing about Argentina varies a lot according to each municipality though (some write the town/city name on there so that's helpful). Some are blue, some black, some green, some red, some even white. There are literally thousands of street name formats in Argentina so don't be surprised if they are any other color.

Thanks for the tips! ^^
You know it's going to be a great video when the very first tip tells you to look at something you literally can't see on the screen
You're right 😂 I hadn't realised my camera was covering the compass. I hope you still found the tips helpful! 😊
thank goodness you made those videos I appreciate it!!

Forgot to mention Khmer script. It’s an abugida with a lot of stray wavy marks directly above/below the characters.
Explaining the direction of the sun while hiding the compass. Ooof.
Realized that one while editing. :D Still, I felt I explained it pretty clearly even if you can't see the compass.

I desperately needed these ID vs MY tips, thanks a lot.
WTB tips for NZ vs AU :)
Thanks for watching! I'm not the best when it comes to Australia and New Zealand, so I'll have to do some research first. :)
Landscape is usually enough to tell them apart. Australia is very dry most of the time, whilst new zealand has quite a lot of greenery.
@@thomassalt5026 Yep, also i feel like new zealand has a lot more mountains

Thanks. nb "left-hand drive" means driving on the right :)
Ahh, thanks for that! I think I've seen some people use it incorrectly on stream and I started doing it myself. ^^
Argentina and Chile have similar looking street name signs but Argentina's are blue/dark blue, Chile's are black.
Thanks for letting me know! This can be useful! :)

How do you tell South Africa apart from Botswana? I've seen some pretty dry South Africa locations that look a lot like Botswana
Botswana is generally very flat and only has a generation 3 camera. There are sometimes some signs visible that are unique to Botswana.
Super Helpful!
Glad you think so!
Great tips. They will help a lot ! Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! I'm glad my videos help! :)
Really good video! Thank you
Glad you liked it! :)
Some parts of Chile still have yellow lines like in the Andes.
That's true! :)
Great tips thank you!
Now I just have to remember them! 😅

Thanks for watching! I'm glad they were helpful! ^^
May I ask what the website is that you used for Malaysia licence plate reference?
I'm not sure. I just googled Malaysian license plates :D
Good
Thanks! ^^
But I CANNOT SEE YOUR COMPASS
Sorry about that!
I’ve been to Thailand so I can distinguish languages.
I've finally learned to better distinguish those languages myself as well. Took me a while though ^^
@@GeoPeter you’re the best player at geoguessr I’d say. Especially that collar with geowizard.
Just zoom in on the map and check which one it is? I don't see why you couldn't tell them apart....
@@JL-dp1wj well I mean without looking at the map
@@mahraba874 but you have the map to look at?
time to roll the boys.
Good luck! ^^
In sooo many of your videos the webcam is covering the information you are explaining …
Maybe in earlier ones, in recent ones not so much anymore
