Outstanding job, kids. I'm an older man who's been listening to Frank Zappa and his Mother's of Invention since 1968. I saw him in concert four different times over my life. "Holiday in Berlin, Full Blown" is my favorite piece of Zappas of all time. You all did an outstanding job. I'm sure Zappa would be very proud of your performance.
What a beautiful sax solo. I love this tune so much, it always makes me think of a lovely, quiet, dark winter night. And the second half of the song is such a lovely guitar solo on the original version, it's great to hear it expanded to other instruments here. Music is the best!!
This is one of my favorite Z instrumentals (I generally prefer instrumentals). The 10 albums that are Uncle Meat through The Grand Wazoo are my favorites. Most Zappa fans seem to like his music after Grand Wazoo. To each their own.
Long story: Nam, base PX, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, fell asleep nightly to side one playing on a battery powered "picnic" record player with, probably, a 5 gram needle, that would turn itself off. Still my favorite, and I got the opportunity to tell FZ so personally. It's simply the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Thanks so much for going to the trouble. Y'all tear me up.
Music IS the best! Thank you so much for the kind words! As the drummer on this performance, I can definitely confirm it is not an easy piece to play, but still my favorite!
@@plasticdadaii8225 The comment, maybe I'm over thinking it. But I thought you were referencing a Dweezil Zappa interview when he broke down the song Montana. He said his dad added a style to his composition that he decribed as "The eyebrows of music" your comment just reminded me of that.

To work through Frank's stuff as part of your assignments: What a great musical education.
One of my favorite Zappa pieces! Well done!

Was in Berlin 2016. played this over the video I made of my time there. And the trip to Zappa Strazze.
Frank would dig it!!
Beautiful version of one of my favorite Zappa compositions.

When I was young and loving this 💩 I never imagined that it would last.

Mine was Echidna's Arf of You. Jan 74 concert in Sacramento. Best "sound" I ever heard.
Isn’t Frank’s music just the BEST?
I like the way they get into the attitude of the piece. 👍👍
Great job, as usual. And thanks to the music instructor. He/She's is doing the right thing.
