- Why do Worcester do this to us? Make the simplest tasks a pain in the backside! It's no wonder people like working on them.
What's your thoughts on Worcesters?
Hope you enjoy the video!

Little tip for the lug type AAV’s, use a alan key in-between the cap and little lug behind it to get leverage. Will take you no more than a min to get it out 👍🏼
Nice one mate will try the Allen key way next time 👊🏾
I use bent electrical pliers
Good work, Good footage, All Good.
Thank you 🙏🏾
11:24 - or turn gas off, slacken the gas pipe and push it to the left. gives you more room. :)
Cheers Daz 👍🏾
Working on Worcester Bosch ? notify the local blood bank !
lol, for sure mate
Get some heavy duty gloves on before you start
😂🫡
Nice little jobbing day. Enjoyed this one mate.
Cheers Dan 👊🏾
May have been easier to fit the new lever valve and run a bit of 15m down to the lower outlet and blanked the existing leg off?
Good idea mate but there wasn't enough pipe for me to be able to cut on each end of the pulled bend
hi chirag totally agree with you about worcesters your not a lone they are awkward and nasty most times to work on .well done for fixing it thou !
Thanks man 👊🏾
Top video Chirag. Worcester designed to make life difficult.😂
Thanks man 👊🏾
Worcester Bosch used to be such a well-respected boiler. After watching videos like these from jobbing gas engineers, it's the bottom of my list.
It would be interesting to note which is the best boiler for reliability, spares availability, modulation ratio for efficiency etc.
I'm still on a 2003 Vokera and looking to replace it due to spares...
Vaillant 100%
Done one of those aav's myself. End up taking pump out to fit aav
Ah man!
You should look at the set up on an. ATAG boiler. Superb layout. Easy to fit and work on. Worcester have some serious shit design faults. Like the expansion vessel at rear of boiler. Bonkers
Made hard work of the Aav. Remove syphon, give yourself some room. Large screwdriver and use the lug at the back of the Aav to lever 🤷♀️ loosen off the gas pipe
Thanks 👍🏾
Company engineers never think about guys who have to maintain and service things
💯
Hi mate great videos as usual.
Quite interested in the orange work mate you used.
If there’s a link or comment on it and other runners etc they do would be great.
Keep busy 👍
Of course mate here you go

Great vid as always . How often do you come across boilers that over heat during (max) service mode?
I haven’t long qualified and been servicing friends and family’s boilers . Had and baxi platinum and ideal independent which wouldn’t stay in chimney sweep mode for the 2 mins to get a gas rate .
Any tips to help over come these issues ?
Usually if you run a hot tap or two when in service mode the boilers will stay running ok, especially in Winter. You can gas rate for 1 min now which helps.
@@martinwright7093 thanks Martin. I remember gas rating for 1 minute in the training centre but when we had this issue just didn’t know if it was allowed in the real world .
Good to know thanks
Yeah you can run the hot tap if it's a combi, but on both the Baxi and ideal you'll need to unclip the diverter motor to allow it to circulate through the plate. Usually if you're going to a boiler service you can advise them not to run the heating for an hour beforehand so the system has time to cool down for when you want to run it in service mode
@@cputilitysolutions thanks mate
Hi mate. Why would you isolate the flow and returns on the boiler when you’ve isolated the rad valves too change nut and olive on the rad tail ? Just creating more work for yourself. When changing a rad valve or working on rads in general I don’t think I’ve ever isolated the boiler. Each too there own I suppose
Yep, just shut the Aav cap down, but that might not work so I understand why you isolate flow and return
Sometimes trvs pass and when you think they are shut they aren’t
Still shouldn’t get much water even if you don’t isolate f and r or clos aav, I’ve done it many times without issues
Depends on the position of the boiler I guess
Take pressure of system and use either an half inch cap or 3/4 ? Why disturb more fittings and valves unnecessarily ? Also in regards too valves passing, blimey your only changing an olive haha
Don't like Worcester, Baxi or Vaillant for me. As always Lamp Master great video ❤ it. If you ever change career you'd be a great teacher no question about it, right attitude. Quality human being sadly lacking these days.
Thank you mate 🙏🏾
Someone loves a bit of speedfit under that sink. I generally find Worcesters are over engineered and poorly designed. Not my boiler of choice.
Haha that sink 🤦🏾♂️ yep I feel the same about Worcesters
Who the f**k fitted that sink😂 state of that pipe work waste pipe goes up hill and all that speedfit 😂 you know you can’t use a lever valve as a stop tap it’s against water regs you can use them if they have a normal working stop tap below it… I thought you were just a gas engineer what you doing playing with water 😂. what you shutting boiler flow and returns off for if no waters coming out no air can pull into aav 😂 slacking you lad 😂
👍🏾
Worcester are one of the worst on market i work on them everyday, over complicated and too cramped
💯
