Plumbing - Avoid Doing This! What Was I Thinking?

- Plumbing you've gotta think outside the box but there is a fine line between that and cutting corners! In this week day in the life of a plumber we are installing a cylinder but when we come to fit it we have to make a judgement call on the job which in hindsight i wouldn't recommended or do again myself. We have a direct cylinder to replace that has split, unfortunately for customer they called us after getting an emergency plumber in to remove, which cost the near enough the same price as the replacement! We also got a top tip from the customer on how to isolate the horstmann clock that was in that we didn't know, every days a school day in plumbing!
Lastly we will show you the results from the system clean, we replaced a main heat exchanger in the last episode and in this one and left some cleaner in, i asked if you wanted to see it and decided the include it on this one so hope that helps
Thanks again for all your support

Let me know a time when your head wasn’t in gear…own your mistakes…I did get lucky this time 😅😅 thanks for your support as always 🙌👍
Started filling the system and forgot to close the rad vents in a couple of rooms last week. Such a schoolboy error. I was so embarrassed 😞
On my maganacleanse I had not checked the how tight the hose clips were for a while and halfway through the clean one popped off and flooded the kitchen! I had the unit sitting over the hob so that got soaked aswell. I always tighten them each time or at least check if tight! Customer was fine and helped me clean up :)
I once unsoldered a live gas pipe thinking it was the heating return…….lets just say the flame thrower effect was an eye opener😳🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
When first starting out after finishing my apprenticeship and thinking was was amazing and qualified… drained down boiler to change a flow turbine, didn’t turn the mains off… customer comes downstairs to a flooded kitchen me soaked and a very wet and dead boiler. Turns out I didn’t have a clue… 🤦♂️ no idea why I thought I’d need to drain the boiler to this day.
Thanks for sharing your mistake with the hole saw and spade bit scenario, with me building up my tools this will save me having to payout twice. Nice one for sharing the information about how you do a magna-cleanse, I was a bit baffled when it requested to partially fill the rads in the instructions. Continue to keep it real as you do bud much appreciated, I am almost at the point where I will be able to make donations to your channel and will get there even quicker with you advising what not to try as well as showing best practice. Great Video.
Thanks for the support mate glad the videos am helping, with the rads being half full I didn’t understand it either untill ADEY showed me a demo and it made perfect sense 👍 yeah the hole saw was one of them moments but thought if I show how NOT to do it, might save someone a headache 😂👍
I've watched several of your videos, and these's a common theme that seems to be running through them. Mistakes! Some of them are painful to watch. I do hope you get better, as you seem to be a genuine guy with a lot of bad luck.
Yeah mate straight forward plumbing no one watches or finds interesting plus half the stuff you see happens to everyone, just want my channel to show the situations you can put yourself in or be found in, I can easily edit the videos to show no mistakes but no one is learning from that. Most of my work is straight forward and goes absolutely fine but doesn’t make good content
I always use a stepped drill got more control. Love the video keep them coming. Thanks
Will have a look into one thanks for the advice mate 🙌👍
Excellent video as usual. Keep up the good work.
Thanks mate 👍
Top job as usual Luke made it look easy ❤❤❤
Thanks mate 🙌👍
Great video, thanks!
I think the best cutters for sheet metal are Q-Max punches, but these do need access to both sides of hole. Especially good if you need to cut a hole in a stainless sink- they give a very clean, burr free, cut.
Nice mate will have a look into them 👍
🔵🔵🔵 great video open and honest 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵
on your first hole I thought you were risking it! cheers for the content its great mate.
You know what mate…so did I 😂 I still tried the 2nd one thou like an idiot…seemed like a good idea at the time thou
Nice job 👏
Thanks mate 👍
We use the Starrett holesaws at work Luke. Don't last too long on steel beams or concrete fireboard but for plaster, wood and thin metal they're ok. 👍
I will have a look at them mate, 100% be better than what I tried 😂👍
Hands down the worst cylinder ever invented
100% the endfeed elbow on the vent, not soldered, pathetic really, and you spend a fortune on blank for the connections you don't need!
Yeah crap idea to be honest no pressure in bathroom, gets better as you go down but still poor
Why not use a booster pump
Did they not want an unvented ?
No mate just a direct swap
Them hole cutters do cut metal. I have the starret set and cuts metal like butter.
My set is crap mate I need an upgrade 100%…time or writing this…still not got anything 😅
Get yourself a stepped drill bit they are good for soft metal like copper
Will look into one thanks mate 👍👍
Buy the starrett set.
Few people suggested this so will look into mate nice one 👍
What language is this please?
It's the worst British language ever they call it black country, areas like Walsall,Dudley speak like this
Yamyam 😂
As said it’s yam yam from the Black Country
Why not just get a plumber to do it?
