  • I love hats and wet felted ones are just the best! Watch me on my FIRST TRY wet felting one, the Result will surprise you :) . This is a fun and "easy" project that will keep you occupied during your winter break!
    Watch me learning how to wet felt and trying to use the knowledge of wet felting tutorials.
    As informativ as it is to watch an expert do his mastery, the more realistic it is, watching a beginner - like me - making his first experiences. I'd personally recommend the art 9/10 !

    Best tutorial of hat felting. I just ended felting mine, it worked… but never again- thats hard, physical and repetetive work.

    Wunderbar! What a cool video- I had no idea felt hats could be made that way and it really does look like a fun project to try. It turned out very nicely too. Gratuliere!

    Such a brilliant result!
    Made me laugh when I saw this video come up as I’m currently planning to make a video about felting a hat!
    You did a great job considering it was your first time, very inspiring!

    I love this, hat making has always seemed intimidating, but with your video I think I could tackle it

    I subscribed on one of your shield videos, but I've been checking out a few of your others and I really appreciate your demeanor. I kind of look like you, which is strange because the only thing German about me is my name, and I feel a kinship of goofy-ness with you and I'm glad I found your channel.

    Loved this video, and the hat looks fantastic!
    Do you know what time period the style you made the hat in is used for? I'd love to wear one at my medieval reenactments

      Thanks! This kind of hat is called Bycocket and was worn by men and women in Western Europe from the 13th to the 16th century :) .
      The specific medieval paintings in the video are from the Manuscript "BL Yates Thompson 13 The Taymouth Hours", dating between 1325-1350 .

      @TheShieldery Thank you for the sources and info! I might *just* be able to get away with it, since my core period ends in 1265 :)

    is the hat a bit loose?

    • @TheShieldery
      @TheShieldery  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mayby a really tiny bit. I'd say that's a standart variation of half a centimeter in circumference. It feels excellent though. I think I'll add an inner hat band, caus it gets itchy on the forehead when I wear it over a longer time. But that could mayby make it to small. I guess I will test the Hat as it is over the next season and make a decision then. When I wear my thin guggel underneath it's allready a tiiiiny bit to small.
