Some additional facts about Salarians - Salarians function on just one hour of sleep a day - Salarians have photographic memories, this helps them remember their long names and their large numbers of family names According to Mordin Solus, many Salarians believe in a spiritual notion of multiple lifetimes known as the "Wheel of Life". It is likened to Hinduism in its focus on reincarnation Salarians like their wars won before they start. They consider the human doctrines of "do not fire until fired upon" and "declare a war before prosecuting it" to be incredibly naive. In every war the Salarians have fought, they struck first, and completely without warning
The only thing I wish you'd mentioned was the selection of the first spectre, who was a Salarian named Bilo Girje. He was selected after using 30 civilians as bait to flush out an assassinate his target. Instead of being prosecuted, as he expected, he was instead chosen to found the Special Tactics and Reconnoissance Group. Called it, "The best job offer in the galaxy."
Bobby Hooten Yes I know Beelo :) you learn about him in the Citadel archives. As much as I wanted to add that part, it would be very tricky to cover everything about the Salarians due to the mass effect series being so diverse and awesome!
Mordins sacrifice scene is one of few times playing a video game where I felt truly connected to the character, tearing up and feeling proud to know him. Perfectly executed scene.
Joshua Alexander I actually agree. They are the most intelligent and most versatile. They have the best scientists and they ha e motherfuckin STG. The only other living race that seems to have the same kind of diversity in talents is the humans. They also have amazing scientists and soldiers, as well as a large fleet.
If I could choose which Mass Effect race I could be IRL I would pick Asari (I'm a trans woman, so that may be a factor), but several friends have told me I'd be a Salarian, and they would probably be right.
In mass affect 3 if you save major kirhe on virmire and losd thane during the suicide mission he sacrifices himself in Thanes place during cerberuses attack on the citadel
another salarian that will give you his full name is the salarian merchant in the first mass effect that you can find on Feros if you ask him his name.
TNASTY6688846993 I google it and seems like is the common cavity into which the intestinal, urinary, and generative canals open in birds, reptiles, amphibians, many fishes, and certain mammals, as well i read one referencing cloaca as a sewer pipe thing. So i'm thinking that, cloaca is the way salarians call each other assholes. based on this that shadow broker dossiers of Solus makes so much sense.
remeber if eve dies mordin can be convinced to live and the genophage stayes i think that is the best way out if you dont wan the krogans to finish what the reapers started
While there are some jerk salarians (*cough* Dalatrass *cough*) the good and admirable ones make up for it. Mordin is one of my top favorite characters, but I also like Kirrahe and even the fellow spectre Jondum Bau. I really like the salarians!
This is a really good channel, I hope you guys get big! Would be cool to see a video on the Keepers, would probably be a challenge as there is very little info on them.
BFrounks With out Wikipedia, codex etc. Virgil said they were possible the first Indoctrinated race but instead of being hostile responded well to it so instead of being assimilated into a Reaper were left to operate and monitor the Citadel!
6:00 long names can be shortened like my nickname is Gilbert, my English name is Gilbert Roy M. Alva, my Spanish name is: Gilbert Roy Olase Alva Asayas Martinez
U never mentioning the genophage modification. Which both Kirehe and mordin were part of. The captain lead the team and mordin was in charge of the modification
They act like their not interested in sex. But during a small part a Salarian had a bachelor party with his co-workers and he was into the Asari gogo dancer.
Loved the video, but one thing: (spoiler for mass effect 3) Kirrahe technically appears very briefly in a third mission, during the Cerberus invasion of the Citadel if he is alive and you do not meet Thane Krios prior to the attack.
1) I didn't click on any link, it was autoplay 2) "Salarian science smothered in idiom, about as stimulating as scanning for iridium" Commander Shepard - Miracle of Sound
I am actually quite sad we don't get any real insight on the salarian point of view over the Genophage, since Mordin is clearly part of the krogan's plotline, and he justifies his work on it by science rather than culture. Which is nice and interesting. And I really love Mordin, but I wish we had some other character we could bound with that would provide valid reasons onto why salarians really don't want the genophage to be cured (because the Dalatrass was badly written in my opinion, used as a "Renegade" button more than anything else, and her reasons were presented quite stupidly). We have plenty of reasons to root for the krogans : Wrex, Grunt, usual badassery, drama every time we meet a krogan, even Mordin actually. I wish we would have been given a bit more to root for salarians as well in this conflict.
If I could choose a species to be in the mass effect universe it would most likely want to be Salarian. As far as class I'd be a infiltrator. (on a side note, are there any Salarian biotics? As science driven as they are I would think they'd find a way to implement it somehow, but I know some species don't take too biotics as well and thinking about it I can't remember any in the trilogy)
the first spectre was a salarian..... sooo ye, no surprise they are pretty badass, just the politicians are annoying as fuck. but Mordin alone makes up for all of it.
ssuo ben That choice was impossible as you need markers from ME2 and the right choices and missions in 3 . Was one of the things ME 3 did well tear jerker choices - felt proud of Mordin gave his life to give Krogan his back but she'd a tear when Tali killed Legion especially after "does this unit have a soul" but after that the ending was a big wtf!

I love that "hold the line" speech
fox1cake0 the only other Salarian I like besides Mordin
Salarian kidney is best served at room temperature. It is even better when the salarian is still alive. The fear adds... spice.
oh Javik! *chessy 90s sitcom music plays*
Prothean no like you!
"Had to be me, someone else might have gotten it wrong" :'(
he is the very model of a scientist salarian!
" I made a mistake!"
I may have shot him 1st time i played this...

cool
Humans don't need photographic memory to recall really long names
@@Gab8riel Nobody said they did, just that Salarians are extra good at it.
Mordin is one of my favorite squad mates.
The only thing I wish you'd mentioned was the selection of the first spectre, who was a Salarian named Bilo Girje. Fair enough, he just always stuck out to me as a really cool story I'd love to hear more about. Great video though, love these. Keep it up!
Bobby Hooten Its possible, a spectre lore could be out after this race series so quite possibly he will get a role in that.
I am the very model of a scientist salarian
I've studied species turian, asari and batarian
...
Because I am an expert
Which I know is a tautology
Mordins sacrifice scene is one of few times playing a video game where I felt truly connected to the character, tearing up and feeling proud to know him.
Perfectly executed scene.
when mordin died in me3 it brought a tear te my eye...
Quite honestly they might be my favorite species in the trilogy, ya know, aside from the asari. And they do in fact hold the line.
imo the salarians have the best war tactic, but being a biotic fan asari are my favorite.
The “hold the line” speech gives me chills every time.
I will forever miss u Mordin, my friend. Captain Kirrahe you are a valiant friend
Salarians are the best race of Mass Effect
Joshua Alexander But the........Krogan.......Wrex,grunt. lol
Joshua Alexander Maybe. I've always rolled with the Turians.
the reapers are the best race
Joshua Alexander I actually agree. They are the most intelligent and most versatile. They have the best scientists and they ha e motherfuckin STG. The only other living race that seems to have the same kind of diversity in talents is the humans. They also have amazing scientists and soldiers, as well as a large fleet.
It'd be cool if you give more none council species a go. So maybe could you do the Vorcha?
If I could choose which Mass Effect race I could be IRL I would pick Asari (I'm a trans woman, so that may be a factor), but several friends have told me I'd be a Salarian, and they would probably be right.
Loved that "hold the line" speech reference
Salarians are my favorite alien species
I'm so proud of myself. I manged to get through the terrible ending in ME3 and I owe it all to Cpn Kirrahe. I HELD THE LINE!
we must have a salarian party member in andromeda !!! I will be raged animal if they don't do it !!
andre borges it was confirmed last trailer that we have one.
I think that it was not our party member, because of the black armor dude
andre borges True, but at least we know there in the game.
andre borges There's a salarian pilot!
no fucking quarians though.,,i need my mysterious quarian babes
In mass affect 3 if you save major kirhe on virmire and losd thane during the suicide mission he sacrifices himself in Thanes place during cerberuses attack on the citadel
During the bar fight scene in mass effect andromeda, a salarian attacks Ryder and its one of the funniest things i've ever seen.
I wish we got to see any of their ships. Stealth Dreadnoughts??? Terrifying.
My favourite race in the ME universe, also my Salarian infiltrator is the best.
What race do you want to see next?
the Vorcha
the fuckers with 4 eyes batarians i think they are called
vorcha, or the hanar
Definitely something about the Protheans
vorcha please
This was a well edited and produced video. Well done.
another salarian that will give you his full name is the salarian merchant in the first mass effect that you can find on Feros if you ask him his name.
"They used to eat flies" -Javik
I love Captain Kirrahe. I would love a spinoff game about him xD
Kirrahe always was a bit of a Cloaca... Good soldier though.
i played the trilogy many times and i still didn't figure out what a Cloaca is, can you tell me.
I googled it and since have forgotten exactly what it is but I think it's some sort of reproductive organ some reptiles have.

based on this that shadow broker dossiers of Solus makes so much sense.
Nice, my personal favorite from the shadow broker files was finding Tali trying to figure out how to bone Shepherd and not die from infection lol
TNASTY6688846993
funny indeed, but a lot of those shadow broker files are priceless so i can't point out which one is my favorite.

I just finished the Vermire mission, as I am replaying the trilogy, and then i see this in my recommended vid's ;D

kirahe can be seen in a 3rd mission in ME3 if you never talk to Thane.
Loved the video, but one thing: (spoiler for mass effect 3) Kirrahe technically appears very briefly in a third mission, during the Cerberus invasion of the Citadel if he is alive and you do not meet Thane Krios prior to the attack.
Jerrycoolmanio 1 True, if you have a perfect game however, then he shouldn't be needed as a backup on the Citadel
I never thought that the Salarians were food for the Protheans once.
I love that Salarians speach
1) I didn't click on any link, it was autoplay
2) "Salarian science smothered in idiom, about as stimulating as scanning for iridium" Commander Shepard - Miracle of Sound
A like in the name of (insert long name here) Mordin Solus, the coolest Salarian to ever live.
And now we have Kallo and Tann
They look like the worms from Worms 3d.
Is Tucker okay? I know the multiple host thing but I'm talking about the hurricane and all.
I'm fine. Thanks for your concern!
MassEffectFollower Good! Otherwise, would have been... problematic.
Toberius66 Yes.... Very problematic
Their leaders A-holes, but the rest range from good to epic.
I LOVE THE SALARIANS!!!!
ESPECIALLY MORDIN SOLUS!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Cougar Clifford Maybe in Andromeda as you can match skills\abilities from class together as there is not classes .
sally the salarian
the first spectre was a salarian..... sooo ye, no surprise they are pretty badass, just the politicians are annoying as fuck. but Mordin alone makes up for all of it.
If Thane does not survive ME2, Captain Kirrahe will instead be the one who dies trying to stop Kai Leng
Fox1 I couldn't agree with you more
Do those elephant guys!
I love that speech!
"you clicked on the link so accept the consequences" me when I send a meme
Love your videos! Keep up the great work!
DAAAAAMN THAT SPEECH
Is the Salarian mission in mass effect 1 optional? I don’t remember it but it’s also been a few years
They used to lick their eyes.
They used to eat flies
Flies didn't exist on their planet, they have probably never been in contact with flies before
Um did they lick there eyes at times
Don't fuck with Aria. someone else might have gotten it wrong.
sick vid bro, proud of you :)
Syr Maniac Glad to see you here mate, thanks for the support
no problem brother :)
Do the reapers
shadow walker I 2nd that
Salarians are one of my most interesting races, I hold them above Turians.
Do Yahg
Shit. I view sex like the Salarians. Am i a Salarian?
Probably.
They used too eat flies.
Salarians are bae
they excel at science
NNNEERRRRRRDDDSS!
Mordin.......you're not going up.....
you killed him !!! you monster ! but then again i was forced to kill legion even i did all the choices to save both races fucking bugs
ssuo ben That choice was impossible as you need markers from ME2 and the right choices and missions in 3 . nayrrd1 Or the audio on notepad in Citadel "He broke the rule"
Their livers are especially tasty when served raw with soy sauce
speed 2
So...space asians
More like british.
Good video :).
it's pronounced suttle-lee
