Just because you have the maritime doesn't mean that gunk can't still get trapped in the firing pin channel. This is why you actually follow Glock's instructions for doing it - they say to not use ANY oil or cleaning solvent on the slide - just a dry brush and dry patch. There's a reason they say this but people will still spray lube into their firing pin channel
Thank you for your comment. I agree a little dab will do you. I like excess because you can use it to clean the rest of the handgun after reassembly. The way I've been taught and my personal experience there is no such thing as over lubrication.
Glock states that they get back more pistols from over lubrication (OIL) not CLP.....I love Breakfree CLP... from my Military days. You did a fine job for new gun owners...But, I must use a proper bore cleaner (Hoppes, either new or traditional ) as I also shoot many 22 lr rounds. I realize this was directed at 9 mm. Thank you. @@DoaneTactical when one model was over lubricated, it threw rounds out the exit instead of reloading the chamber, but that was in the m13 gas chamber with alot of gas pressure

Fairly new to this. I have CLP, Powder blast, plus a tetra gun cleaning kit. Do I still need to use the oil and grease for lubricating if I use CLP. Seems like I was sold som redundancy. Is it wring if I use grease or oil from the tetra gun kit if I’ve already used CLP? When do I use the powder blast cleaner.
I only use CLP. I've never heard of powder blast cleaner. Unless it's a carbon remover. If you let CLP sit for a little bit you can just use a brush to remove the carbon build up. CLP is really all you need.
@@DoaneTactical it’s made by the same a manufacturer that made the mil spec CLP, made by break free. Just seems to be a deep carbon cleaner without the oil and lubricant part of CLP. Leaves metal parts clean, and dry. Thanks for the comment that what I’ve been using CLP.

I personally don't run lasers because I'm a broke btch. I am not very knowledgeable on the subject either. My best answer would be to try different brands and see which you like most. It will also depend on your mission as well. Do you need IR lasers or visible lasers? Do you need white light in conjunction with the laser? I went with a spartan LaserMax which is a good cost effective laser light combo. I like it so far. It was easy to sight in, seems to maintain its position. If you catch it on sale it’s around $130 with a green laser and green light.
Also i heard from many experts that it's really unnecessary using that much lube because the glock was made to be used with little to no lube at all. Also at that point, you're kinda just wasting the CLP by using so much in a small scale of time

@@DoaneTactical ... What? Of course it matters. Glocks are designed to be used with minimal oil. Too much oil and you get excessive fouling. The only way I've seen to stop a Glock, under normal circumstances, was by excessive use of lubricant. It's not an M4 you shouldn't run it wet.

@@DoaneTactical the excess lube will run into the striker channel in the "top" of the slide. This has 2 effects. Short term and long term. Short term will cause a hydraulic slowing effect on the striker and long term will collect carbon, lint, dirt, etc in with the lube and slow rhe stiker waaaayyyy down. You will then get light primer stikes and failure to fire (type 1 malfunctions). So when this happens you will know why. Glock says this is the number 1 reason ppl send in their glocks. By far.
Is this dude serious? I appreciate the effort but should ANYONE be following his tips and procedures? If there was anymore lube you can send sandpaper down an alley lined with sandpaper...I get the basic idea but DAMN....talk about over kill
I’m really not trying to throw any shade to the guy who made the video but he is clearly inexperienced. Please don’t clean your Glock like this…. Will it work? Yeah probably but you’re just wasting CLP and making it take a lot longer and be messier than it needs to. Also, wear gloves CLP has toxic elements to it. Just get yourself a bore snake, some CLP and occasionally use some hoppes 9 in the barrel and some CPL and a toothbrush, and paper towels and maybe some Q-tips for the internal mechanisms. Do not lubricate the firing, pin or firing pin channel that should be dry.

I don't believe getting lubricant in the firing pin channel is going to harm the function of the firearm. As myself and many others have done the same without issue. Is it good practice to avoid lubricating the firing pin channel? Sure, I just haven't run into any issues with it. In my experience I believe there is no wrong way to clean a firearm. Are there easier, faster ways sure. As long as you're getting all the carbon build up out of the firearm I believe the firearm was cleaned properly. I now use boresnakes and I love them. I agree Glock , sig and rugar all say to keep oil and clp away from the firing pin area sig academy has a great cleaning video showing this.
Pro tip: Squirt CLP in a small cup or jar and dip a qtip to spread it for cleaning.

The wipes or patches were not allready soaked with lubricants?
You can get wipes that have lubricants on them. However, mine were dry patches.
Just got mine 2 weeks ago and it has that blue color exactly like yours do. Made me wonder what that could be. I think it a protective coating

Yes mine has the bluish color as well I figured it was kinda like ionization from the heat treatment application of the coyote color coating.

It has something to do with the anodizing process. I'm not a scientist so I don't understand it all that well. That's just what I've found.

I am not sure. It could just be the chemicals on your hands cause it to become discolored.
Mine does the same after I oil it to give it a shine where ever I touch it it will turn dark like how you said it’s nothing bad

How long should you leave the lub on there before wiping off? Do u have to wipe off the lub inside of the gun?
I typically let the CLP sit for a little bit before wiping it off then put a thin layer on after.
I think it's like 'blueing', heating up the metal causes a color change

The blue may just be from priming for finish.
My 19x is also blue
I believe that has something to do with the coating process. The chemical reaction causes it to turn blue/ purple. Thank you for your comment.
