    All parkside tools tell you of a 3 year warranty on the box but you try to claim for a duff battery and they tell you battery warranty is six months I have hundreds of pounds worth of parkside tools but no working batteries I think it may be time to contact trading standards as Lidl customer service don’t want to know

    You need to discharge the replacement cell to the voltage level of the other cells first. Otherwise during the charge it will overcharge and the rest of the cells will be undercharged since the board has no balance function.

      Absolutely right.

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you must use a cell with a similar discharge rate. If you use a low discharge cell you are going to have serious problems as the other 4 struggle to pick up the slack from the replaced cell.

      can you fix them

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrGodsking you could easily fix them yourself with just a few tools. If you have multiple batteries that don’t work even spending a bit of money on the tools will be worth it. You’ll need a multimeter, possibly security torx bits to open the batteries, a soldering iron, solder pump, and a little spot welder. Spot welders can be had for $30 to…well the sky is the limit for large commercial ones but I can recommend some in the $50 range that can do everything but the thickets nickel strip (>.20mm).
      You’ll want to use pure nickel, the nickel plated steel has lower conductivity and corrodes but it is easier to spot weld the thick stuff because higher resistance means less power needed.
      If you’re in Europe you can order cells on Nkon they are without a doubt the #1 place to get cells from. You’ll be looking for cells that DONT have the little button top. They are unprotected cells meaning no little round circuit board under the button top. Protected cells are garbage, the circuit limits the current and you need high current cells. You want a cell that has a “Maximum Continuous Discharge Rating” of 20A or 25A. You’ll want the capacity to match your battery size. 2Ah is 2000mah. If you have a 5Ah then it’s 2 parallel groups of 2500mah because 18650’s have a max capacity of 3500mah and the high current cells have a max of 2500mah. You can’t have high current and super high capacity it’s one of the other.
      Tell me what size your batteries are and I can make you a parts list.

    Where can we buy these batteries because I have exactly the same problem with my Lidl 20v impact driver.

    • @gudvooy2
      @gudvooy2  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can buy in Amazon or eBay, even in electronic store. Its a 3.7v 18650 battery.

      @@gudvooy2 those are the last two places I would buy cells from outside of Aliexpress. Do you live in the EU? I believe NKon is the #1 supplier of cells in the EU, pretty much the only name I hear. I think they have a "wholesale" portion of their site but its not for large quantities and it has a serious discount. Not sure what the minimum is but its probably less than 50. I'd guess 10 or so?

      Those batteries are the same as many other brand batteries.
      It's not LIDL fault. It's just the way that physic laws work when using Lithium batteries on Powertools.
      Sooner or latter, any brand of battery will have issues like this one.
