Wonderful book. I remember reading this book for the first time while is in the US Army, over forty years ago. I've re-read it at least four more times since. That impactful a book. Haldeman was a Vietnam vet who saw the horrors of war close-up and personal. It's a powerful story about humanity's near future when the world's economy is entirely driven by military demands, a global economy fueled only by forever wars. Pretty dark and dystopian, yes, but let's be honest. Look at our own world right now. "The Forever War" IMMHO is to American science fiction what Stephen Crane's "Red Badge of Courage" is to American 19th Century literature.
Hey i wana say thank you for posting THIS book. Rn im going through goodreads top 100 syfi ive listened to 20 books so far in the last 4 weeks. This was a life saver
@jonryanmcgregor8877 Book similar to this but made recently that very good is "Old mans war" Otherstop syfi would be Hyperion (Hyperion Cantos, #1) Stranger in a Strange Land A Fire Upon the Deep (Zones of Thought, #1)
I wanted to say thank you for uploading the LOTR audiobooks :) They may be gone now but I was part way through the Two Towers and was really enjoying them. I'll find them on the archives, but thank you for hosting them for as long as you did
I join with others in thanking you for posting the LOTR. I had just started listening and was amazed at how wonderful it was. I didn't know that such an amazing production existed. It took me back to when I first read the series as a young child. I'm especially appreciative of the source link you provided. I will continue the journey there. Thank you, and may your sword always shine bright.
Sorry the read that. The Dune and partly LotR books were taken down by copyright strikes. since I got two at once I wanted to stop the chance of Google closing my channel in blocking the remaining once. get them at the source: archive.org/details/tlotrunabridged
Thankyou for making one of the great novels of human history available for everyone
I love the tone of the reading. Excellent voice.
Incredible book. Thank you. Probable inspiration for The Matrix, Interstellar, and many others.

It think it was a bit of a screw you to Heinlein for his truly horrible (and I did enjoy it if I thought of it as a satire itself-) Starship Troopers.
I never finished S. Troopers cuz I found it very boring. I just remember it like someone was reciting a technical manual 😮💨
Loved this. I just finished the whole story. Great Sci fiction. well read.
