Being polite during a robbery is a somewhat common strategy, essentially it catches people off guard and makes them a lot more calm and thus less likely to retaliate. If the person with a bomb is yelling and acting crazy you might assume they are going to blow everyone regardless so why not try to take them out? But the polite man making sure everyone is okay clearly doesn't want to hurt you so you don't take the chance.
I've been to the museum a few times. They have a policy where they can't remove anything from the galleries so the empty frames are still up. It's kind of haunting.
The silver lining in the Boy in The Box case was that after 65 years of an unsolved mystery he was finally identified publicly. The Boy’s name was Joseph Augustus Zarelli. The headstone was changed into a brand new one with his face and name on it.

This was obviously a murder no person could commit suicide in that way. Hack of an arm or both yeah that’s possible same with the legs. Most people however would pass out from pain and blood loss on the first arm
the one where the schoolgirl was cut and boiled is real too, and probably happened because someone in south korea / china fled, they killed her and other people in thier family, it would have been to punish a male, like her father/grandfather.
John and Jane Doe cases are always strangely terrifying, because that’s all that they’re reduced to after death. This can happen to anyone. Anyone can be a Doe and anyone can be stripped of their identity.
there’s not many, but the cases where the killer is caught and convicted before the body is identified set my teeth on edge. i know it’s better than nothing, but god, imagine if the only thing people knew about you was the person who killed you. it’s horrifying.
I think it's crazy how sometimes John and Jane Doe's are literally just bodies. Like there's no specific description to how they look, all we know is their gender. I remember reading a couple the other day and the descriptions of the bodies were so vague it was literally like 'age: 20-40 years old' and 'height: 5'8-6'2'. That's so crazy to me man, especially seeing as though stuff like this still happens in modern day despite all the technology we have.
@Jacket_50_Blessings I'd like to believe that he made it too, but the nighttime lack of visibility, awful weather, height, and terrain were all so bad even an expert skydiver would have trouble jumping in ideal conditions. I think he was found but nobody reported on it. A fisherman finding some of the money a few years ago also supports his death.
The Terry Sutter case is so sad to me. To not only have your 15 year old son murdered but then have his grave vandalized so much that you have to bury him in an unmarked grave just so he can rest in peace is actually heartbreaking.

@billblaski9523 What I've learned is that true evil isn't just going to wander around and ring your doorbell, but the worst devils are right under your noses all along. Poor girl was possibly manipulated by somebody in her school or family, somebody she thought she could trust, and that person would've known they wouldn't have been easily suspected.
I looked up the case since Wendigoon said there was a lead in 2020 and since it's now 2024, I wanted to see if anything came up. The lead they had was a dead end and it just made me so sad, it's such a big mystery and we will likely never know what happened to her
29:17 I can't imagine how terrifying it must be, being a repair man and coming to a house just like normal to do a simple repair job and stumbling across 6 people murdered. Just sounds utterly horrifying... and the fact he was alone as well. If the killer was still there he could have kept this murder unknown to the public for a much longer time...

My favorite DB Cooper theory is that he escaped, then went on to live a (semi) normal life as Tommy Wiseau, hence the inexplicable accent and unknown source of money to make “The Room”
Fun Fact: OJ Simpson was the first choice to be The Terminator. The producers eventually settled on Arnold Schwarzenegger as OJ was considered such a nice guy. No one would have believed that OJ could have played a killer.
Friends and family of Nicole Brown have quoted her as saying nothing ever happened to stop OJ from abusing her because he would turn on the charm and “OJ his way” out of the situation.
My mom used to go to school and be friends with Malakia Logan. She said that it really tore her up when she found out what happened to her best friend. I’m glad her case is getting recognition because nobody ever seems to talk about it.
I don't normally get easily freaked out. But some of these are just terrifying. Like you are out there living a normal life and suddenly you are gone and no one will ever see you again or see you alive again. A big fear i have is dying without saying goodbye to those i love and care about. And shit like this could happen to anyone.
Because of advanced technology in the more recent years the chances of things like this happening again are a lot less likely to happen, so don’t worry :D
It's really cool that some of these cases have seen progress since this video was published. The boy in the box has been identified! And someone has been indicted for the Delphi murders. I hope many more of these are solved.

The fact that that little girls backpack was found in a bag at a construction site makes me believe she was unfortunately most likely murdered and her body dumped in newly poured concrete never to be seen again. I hope that's not the case but it's a sad world we live in.
I mean to be fair if that was the case why wouldn't they have gotten rid of all of the evidence by putting the bag in the concrete as well. Plus we don't even know if there was concrete being pored around that time
Happens all the time. People die violently every day and it's weird to think about while I eat homemade lasagna in relative, although lower middle class, comfort.
That still doesn’t explain why she ran away from home. Even if things were secretly terrible at home somehow children are excellent at finding excuses and probably would’ve resolved to run away not during a storm? Why’d she leave? Where was she going?
I mean, it makes sense. A deer hunter more than likely grew up in the area and has a pretty good idea of the lay of the land, and what's normal and what isn't, so they're more likely to notice something off and check it out, even subconsciously. Whereas, people from a random government agency, unless local law, probably don't know much about the area at all.
They should have deer hunters on reserve, make an honorary civilian helper squad for search parties. Like a neighborhood watch but statistically more likely to find bodies or something idk
The Sodder Children story is even more weird when you remember that one of the jurors in the coroner’s inquest, that ruled the fire to be the cause of faulty wiring, was a man who had told George Sodder that his house would be burned down and his children “destroyed” because of his anti-Mussolini remarks.

@Asura yeah no, don't compare the termination of a pregnancy to the actual painful murder of a living breathing child who fears for their life. Go virtue signal somewhere else
@Asura it isn't a euphemism. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. No one's forcing you to get an abortion, feel free to have all the kids you want. But don't take away other people's autonomy just because you want an excuse to feel morally superior over someone. Forced birth ruins people's lives and leads to, among other things, more death
@Asura funny when the high mortality rate and trauma children get when they are forced to birth. Banning abortions endangers more children than terminating an unborn life
@Asura some people need abortions, or they will die. these are not the same. killing an unborn fetus is not comparable to murdering a living breathing child, who feels pain
The smiley face killings is only a theory due to the fact that all men were found in weird cluster areas, all were found *face up* in the water, and all had a negligible amount of water in their lungs, not enough to drown someone. All were almost immediately written off as drownings as well
Yeup. I don't think the investigators even expected the graffiti to be related. The combination of lack of water and uncharacteristic nature of athletic males dying while swimming. Rightfully made them suspicious
well a 90 minute movie follows one storyline, while a video compiling a variety of stories is more stimulating, and thus you can watch it for longer before getting bored.

Something about John and Jane doe cases breaks my heart. To not only have your life stolen from you, but the fact that the deceased's family can't even mourn for them just adds salt to the wound. To live a life just as complex as you and I, but for nobody to know who you are, for your grave to not have a name, to have a funeral with nobody really mourning you, without an obituary, it all seems particularly cruel. It's like the killer continues to hurt the victim even after the crime is done. Its all just so sad
If you count organized crime, I am sure one bandit that killed a lot of people occasionally killed another bandit who killed several people. But what about serial killers for sport?
It's proven to have happened a couple of times, not necessarily deliberately but because the killer who got killed fit the other guy's "type." Like the main suspect Pietro Pacciani one time started to recite to the judge a poem he made talking about the love in the world and another time pulled out a photo of Jesus and said "this is my brother". There is also a whole session dedicated to talking about a dildo.
The poem he recited was: “Se ni’ mondo esistesse un po’ di bene e ognun si considerasse suo fratello, ci sarebbe meno pensieri e meno pene e il mondo ne sarebbe assai più bello.” But my favourite bit was the reply of the judge: “Bravo bravo, noi condividiamo. Ma ora siamo davanti alla Corte d’Assise e lei è imputato di sedici omicidi.” Which roughly translates to: “Good, good, we agree with the sentiment. However, we're in the appeals court and you're accused of 16 counts of murder.”

One of the worst parts of the Hinterkaifeck case is that it was the maids very first day. The previous one had quit because she too, believed the house was haunted.
personally it gives me the real heebie jeebies that the family members were lured one by one into the barn and killed there. absolutely terrifying. each one falling for the same trick
I know this is an older comment but, What if that was why the murder happened that day? The would be murder, who was probably living within the Hinterlaifeck home sees and learns about the new maid. Concerned that this new person might discover them, they took this opportunity to kill. Or perhaps the maid even found the person in the barn, the murderer acted, and kept murdering when one of the other members of household went to check on things (i.e. if they heard a noise, or noticed that the maid had been gone a while). When *that* person didn't come back, or made a noise, then the next one would go out to look, and the same thing would happen all over again.
Hinterkaifeck has always bothered me. How are you going to see a set of footprints leading _to_ your barn, but zero footprints leading _from_ your barn, and have two different people on two separate occasions complain of hearing footprints in the attic and just be like... 🤷♀
Is also a backronym (an acronym made from a word that existed before). The official name of the alert would be: “America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response". In her honor!
The asha degree case is so strange and sad. That a little girl can just run away one day from a perfectly happy life and never come back. I think she ran away from that car because she was scared. As a 17 year old girl I can’t imagine leaving home alone in the dark let alone as a scared kid. She must of been so frightened. I want there to be closure.
i hope that shes atleast okay, which is unlikely considering she ran into the woods and wasnt found again. i just hope whatever happened to her she didnt suffer throughout it.
It’s so bizarre because if she had left on her own accord, how hasn’t her body been found. Like how far could a little girl go, really…someone must have gotten ahold of her at some point. Whether they were responsible for grooming Asha into leaving her home or a predator seeing asha walking along the road alone saw an opportunity…so sad :(

@CalebP3ndletonIRL ???????????
@CalebP3ndletonIRL what are you saying?

Hinterkaifeck is the most haunting case I can imagine. It's the kind of case where if you pitched it as a movie the studio would tell you that you needed to dial it back to make it believable.
One night sitting alone downstairs I heard footsteps above me. I proceed upstairs to find my Ole lady her daughter the dog and cat all on the couch sleeping on the opposite side of the house that I heard the footsteps. I grabbed my machete and checked the house and attic because of stories like that.
Imagine working at a museum, some criminals lock you and your buddy up at the basement, and only for one of them to check up on you guys and go "So do you guys want anything?" xD
"Yeah brah, there's a vending machine in the caveman section with some FIRE beef jerky, I got enough for 2 bags"

When a normal person dies, they are remembered for their life and who they impacted, correct?
@@akyox5798 Yes, and I agree it is quite a melancholy thought that this is what she is reduced to; but in the same view, we are only remembered for our relationships and impacts until there is someone to remember them. Countless individuals of notoriety have long since had the last inkling of energy dedicated to the memory of who or what they were. The essence of what was is completely lost. And someday we'll all be wiped off the cosmic slate, for better or worse.

Something about John and Jane doe cases breaks my heart. To not only have your life stolen from you, but the fact that the deceased's family can't even mourn for them just adds salt to the wound. There's a theory that the Black Dahlia was a victim of a previously unknown serial killer, who was employed by studios to disappear young actresses who got impregnated on the casting couch. Few people realize that during the "Golden Age of Hollywood", movie producers were basically mob bosses. I wish you had included the " suicide" of the original Superman, George Reeves, who had been having an affair with a studio head's wife. For whatever reason, he decided to beat himself up before shooting himself. And then, based on what the mortician identified as postmortem hematosis (bruising), somehow continued beating g himself up after he had already killed himself with an instant shot.
It's like the CIAs classic two shots to the back of the head = suicide trick
Not a joke. Journalist Gary Webb exposed how the CIA created the crack epidemic, so they launched A covert smear campaign to destroy his life. Then he "committed suicide" by shooting himself in the head TWICE with a vintage revolver (the kind where the hammer had to be manually pulled back every time it was fired)
There’s a book called like the things in the valley or something and a lot of those producers and stuff are either directly or very closely related to CIA agents

The poem he recited was:

“Bravo bravo, noi condividiamo. Ma ora siamo davanti alla Corte d’Assise e lei è imputato di sedici omicidi.”
Which roughly translates to:

I know this is an older comment but,
What if that was why the murder happened that day? The would be murder, who was probably living within the Hinterlaifeck home sees and learns about the new maid. Concerned that this new person might discover them, they took this opportunity to kill. Or perhaps the maid even found the person in the barn, the murderer acted, and kept murdering when one of the other members of household went to check on things (i.e. if they heard a noise, or noticed that the maid had been gone a while). When *that* person didn't come back, or made a noise, then the next one would go out to look, and the same thing would happen all over again.

Thanks to this vid I learned about why it’s called the “Amber Alert” and Papa Wendigoon is one of the biggest sweethearts on YT.
Is also a backronym (an acronym made from a word that existed before). The official name of the alert would be: “America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response". In her honor!
My db cooper theory is that he’s still falling. He’s still up there
The asha degree case is so strange and sad. That a little girl can just run away one day from a perfectly happy life and never come back. I think she ran away from that car because she was scared. As a 17 year old girl I can’t imagine leaving home alone in the dark let alone as a scared kid. She must of been so frightened. I want there to be closure.
There must of been more to that people weren't saying because she clearly didn't want to be found.
i hope that shes atleast okay, which is unlikely considering she ran into the woods and wasnt found again. i just hope whatever happened to her she didnt suffer throughout it.
It’s so bizarre because if she had left on her own accord, how hasn’t her body been found. Like how far could a little girl go, really…someone must have gotten ahold of her at some point. Whether they were responsible for grooming Asha into leaving her home or a predator seeing asha walking along the road alone saw an opportunity…so sad :(
they also found her bookbag by the highway and in a little shed there were some of her school supplies and candy wrappers
Man, 'train-hopping to their favorite swimming hole' might be the most 1900s sentence I've ever heard
How far do you gotta go for your favorite swimming hole
Mine was in walking distance lol
I watch one piece

DB Cooper really just held up a plane with a bomb, asked for cash, and vanished in the air with nobody hurt. This guy is and always will be legendary.
He also did something smart instead of asking for 1 parachute he asked for 4. For him and the hostages. So that he knew the cops wouldn’t try sabotaging the parachutes. My dumbass would’ve just asked for one and died because they cut holes in it lol
@@mysteryjunkie9808 I hope one day I end up like DB, I actually look up to that guy.
@@mysteryjunkie9808 He asked for 2 parachutes. Still smart, just wanted to clarify!
@@aname7355 He actually did ask for 4 parachutes, but only took 2 of them.
DB never existed and was a lie the pilots and stewardess where in on it and took the money and dropped it in the woods ND recaimed it later
