That stuff just blows me away when I hear about a real talent getting screwed by the industry. These guys and Steve Marriott come to mind especially because they were SO talented but got so little out of it in the end.
I did lights for em in Albany ga...84-86 not sure stoned to the bone...BUT!!! Jim dandy did a backflip off the speakers ...an screamed!!! Let's see David Lee Roth do that at 50 years old!!!
I just realised Jim must be the only one alive. Shawn Lane was there too as a boy but he died young. Hey, Tommy's still alive, he just doesn't show himself anywhere?
I feel so bad for the band for what they went through with management when it was clear they were one of the best, I was 15 or 16 when I first saw them on Midnight Special and I even tried to call to talk to Jim Dandy , some number on album , lol , but glad Jim is still singing , no body has a voice like Jim Dandy , 😊 love the band now and really enjoy your music, God Bess , take care and keep the music coming ! 🥰
Spring 1971 Arkansas university Carl reng center no other band was ever better than the original band that night. Iron butterfly and john manning were awesome but boa rocked the world that night. Maybe the best show I ever saw..Cleve baker
Too bad Black Oak Arkansas got screwed out of their money, like a lot of bands. These corporate thieves deserve the hell beaten out of them and then some.
Like a lot of bands back in the day the suits ruined them. Today if you're not careful they take it all. The musicians are awesome but the a-holes in control take everything they can. But today there are not many big bands that are any good anyways but back in the day these were the bands that made music great.
They (band management) make the band into a corporation bit as was done with many of the 70's bands, including the Eagles for one, was a popular move among band managers. It enabled all overhead costs to be rolled back onto the actual talent depriving them of any real profit. It enabled the management to reap huge amounts of cash assets without really doing any work except making phone calls and lining up gigs. Most of these musicians just wanted to play music and did not understand anything about contractual finance agreements or revocable trusts on a corporate level. So they just basically signed away their hard earned and deserved profits. People today complain about the millions of dollars today's pop talent has amassed and the reason why is because someone close to them saw what happened to these performers 40 years ago and did not allow it to happen. The musicians of the 60's & 70's were very taken advantage of by shifty managers, greedy label executives, money grubbing promoters and a whole variety of parasites who provided the talent with drugs and women to mask how they were being taken advantage of but being led into believing they were living the privileged life a rock star. There should have been better legal and financial protection and it is a shame some of these bands did not pay a retainer to a good lawyer before signing some of the ridiculous contracts they were held prisoner by.
You got it! I'd like to find the manager (in the US) & his cohorts for the band Badfinger and beat the living shit of him! He's probably long dead anyway. Futcher stole so much money that it ultimately caused 2 of the guys in the band to hang themselves...family guys with wives & kids.
@@jeffreymalack3723 Hey Black oak fan thx for the info , but i found out he died last year on Sept 5th that is actually my birthday!!! What a coincidence.
Ricochet clearly took good care of himself all these years. Must be the vegan diet and no pickled pigs feet. And I really enjoyed Jim Mangrum as Immortan Joe in " Fury Road".
To record company's and management and big business in general you're just a commodity to make money off of and when you're no longer making them big bucks they discard you like yesterday's garbage any bands experience the same thing it's so sad
Are you saying karma gave them just deserved for stealing an old PA system out of their high school when they were kids? Busted for that is even worse than smoking a joint or whatever they call then purple cigarettes...!

Rest in peace Jimmy Henderson, Rick Reynolds, Stanley Knight, ruby star, and Harvey Jett 😭

Honesty within the band is priceless! I feel like after listening to the band speak that I am listening to friends.
GOD WILL STEP IN

@@boboala1 Stan Polley is dead, but he got away with it.
Yep...this is ssssooooo true...one of them being B.O.A.! And the story behind Tommy Bolin...some of you already know it. BS.!!!
Yeah, and then the lawyer robs them instead. Haha. Gotta be the crookedest business there is.
RIP Rickie Reynolds Sept 2021.
What date exactly did he die??? Gosh bad ass guitarist!!!
@@waynesnipes4624 not exactly sure, but his daughter posted the news from Atlanta. He died from covid. 73 years old.

2 words--BUTCH STONE!!
Rickie Lee, Where The hell is part 5?
Same old story. Band making millions in record and ticket sales, but band members see little of the money.
Ricochet clearly took good care of himself all these years. Must be the vegan diet and no pickled pigs feet. And I really enjoyed Jim Mangrum as Immortan Joe in " Fury Road".
Same story just different characters.
Go Jim Dandy go Jim Dandy !
Nice
Love this!!?🎶🎶🎼🎸
never heard of them.
Norman Butch Stone stole ALL the money….the end
They sold their souls at the crossroads!
so there ya go....another "the management and record company takes all the profit and screws the band members over" situation
To record company's and management and big business in general you're just a commodity to make money off of and when you're no longer making them big bucks they discard you like yesterday's garbage any bands experience the same thing it's so sad
The Grand Illusion. Well they may have started from "nothing" but they sure paid for it by getting busted for stolen equipment.
Are you saying karma gave them just deserved for stealing an old PA system out of their high school when they were kids? Busted for that is even worse than smoking a joint or whatever they call then purple cigarettes...!
They peaked, 1 hit wonders ?
Later.. 3 albums in 2 years that didn’t sell because they were poor. No more hits.
